We are looking for an experienced Proposals Manager to support our client's bidding activities in EMEA. You will be working closely with their Proposals Management team in Crewe, Cheshire, UK.
As the Proposals Manager, you will:

  • Developing cost estimates and technical proposals for screening, budgetary and firm bids, including project schedules and site layouts to support the commercial team.
  • Broad-based technical expertise for Standard Plants products.
  • Driving competitiveness in offerings, as well as each individual proposal to support winning profitable business.
  • Collaborating in developing winning strategies in conjunction with the commercial areas, Engineering Product Owners, and Functional Engineering teams by understanding the competitive environment, the most efficient options to meet customer needs, and successfully working with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Understanding the commercial implications of the details of each estimate, making business critical decisions to drive the competitiveness of the proposal.
  • Developing, owning, and maintaining the costing tools, and other project development tools used to estimate projects, and develop proposals.
  • Nurturing risk management efforts in the project development phase, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending mitigating strategies in documented risk management plans.
  • Ensuring that Engineering Standards, Engineering Procedures, and Work Instructions are understood, followed consistently, and improved upon where vital, to enable efficient project development and execution.


To be successful, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent underpinned with significant experience in a similar or related environment.
  • Previous proposal management, project development, project engineering, or engineered product development experience preferred.
  • Proven strong leadership skills, with the ability to be outspoken, persistent, and hold people accountable to commitments.
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Proven strong skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (required) and Microsoft Share Point (desired).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization, leading meetings, and managing conversations effectively with high-level management.
  • Ability to work effectively with a global team, interfacing with team members in various countries.
  • Ability to work independently, being accountable for accomplishing work with minimal direction

The Project Operations Manager (POM) is accountable to the Project Manager for the safe and efficient execution of overall project operations, in accordance with planning constraints, associated cost envelope and project quality requirements.

The POM is responsible for the co-ordination of the marine spread and onshore operations during the execution of Projects. When supporting tenders, the POM reports to the Tender Lead and is responsible to produce the required deliverables for the leanest and most efficient offer.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Project support

Operations planning:

  • Select the spread for the offshore operations: construction vessels and 3rd-party chartered support and transportation vessels.
  • Define the scope of work (SOW) for each vessel and liaise closely with the VOM and OMT to ensure the defined scopes are optimised accordingly.
  • Liaise with SCM Chartering Manager to ensure scopes for third party vessels are appropriate and where possible functional requirements are included in the Charter Party / Subcontract agreement.
  • Organise installation feasibility / PHA reviews involving operational personnel (OMT) and Vessel Operations Managers (VOMs) prior to initiating the detailed installation engineering.
  • Review and Comment the MDR (Installation engineering documents).
  • Engage as early as possible with the Pipeline Group and Installation Engineers to ensure installability of the products and that the installation methodology is in line with expectations for operability in particular with respect to waiting on weather.
  • Liaise with the Installation Engineers and the Pipeline Group (PG), oversee the development of installation procedures to ensure compliance with Contract and the various requirement identified in the Project reviews.
  • Liaise with the Project Engineering Manager to ensure documents are timely issued in line with operational requirements.
  • Define SOW for Subcontractors / Vessel Owners and ensure requirements are properly and appropriately cascaded into the Subcontract / Charter agreements Monitor SCM selection of subcontractor's on operations related issues.
  • Prepare a third party facilities interface plan as required.
  • Prepare the SIMOPS plan in conjunction with other stakeholders
  • Review and comment the project Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Interface with the project technical manager to identify critical parts of the work (technical, clash etc.) and initiate applicable Risk analyses
  • Ultimately responsible for driving the readiness process for operations onshore and offshore and ensure timely approval to proceed.

Vessels readiness:

  • Responsible for the marine spread assurance including organising the supporting surveys and audits as required.
  • Check & ensure the country regulations requirements are followed.
  • Check the communication means availability for chartered vessels.
  • Organise the manning of chartered vessels with the support of the Crewing department (Define, Allocate, Logistic) and Owner.
  • Define personnel requirements (POB) for project subcontractors' quantity/functions such as pre-commissioning staff.
  • Review & Endorse POBs for all vessels (quantity /functions) ensuring requirements for Competency and Familiarity are met.
  • Arrange "In Country" reception of vessel and operations crew to ensure compliance with local /client vaccination requirements (incl. COVID).
  • Ensure that Subcontract personnel are in compliance with local /client vaccination requirements (incl. COVID).
  • Ensure availability of project specific safety equipment and personnel with support of HSE.
  • Follow-up of chartered vessel management as VOM (Audit, POB, Mob, HSE, Emergency Plan).

Planning, Budget & Co-ordination:

  • Establish the baseline operations schedule, constantly updating it and optimising it.
  • Ensure Spread availability, external spread booking.
  • Attend regular country operations meetings.
  • In co-ordination with the Project Service Manager review the as-bid budget for in-country logistics and operations, establish and monitor monthly the estimate-at-completion (EAC) budget for in-country logistics and operations.
  • Ensure project COL (Costs of Loss) are captured, reported and addressed.
  • Ensure 3rd party services costs and planning are tracked and monitor their cost base.

Logistic Support to Operations:

  • Define all logistic requirements to support the project operations to ensure the timely deployment of resources (personnel, equipment and vessels). Liaise with company country organization (or local agent) for logistic purposes (Project Equipment and Material) In and Out of company Base.
  • Monitor local logistic support and improve it if required.
  • Define crew changes method from vessel to shore and the relevant logistics.
  • Organise importation of project equipment and material in country. Identify permanent/ temporary imports and hazardous materials / Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • Organise vessels clearance in the country of Operations.

Mobilisation:

  • Ensure full spread readiness to start the operations. Develop the Mobilisation Plan.
  • Arrange Stake Holder review meeting to co-ordinate yard activities and loadouts for timely delivery of Project materials.
  • Organise the timely mobilisation of subcontracted personnel.
  • Prior to start operations, organise Project Familiarisation meeting for the vessels crew.
  • Organise mobilisation of Client Representative. Co-ordinate with Client access to site.

HSE:

  • Arrange Risk Assessment review meetings with stake holders.
  • In co-ordination with the project HSE manager, ensure resources (Medivac, security boats⣦) to support Offshore Bridging Document (including Emergency Response Plan) are available.
  • Ensure Permit to Work system is in place at remote facilities. In co-ordination with the project HSE manager arrange training of personnel for compliance to non-company facilities requirements.
  • Review the safety reports and contribute to closing the necessary remedial actions.

Operations:

  • Organise the sequence of offshore operations.
  • Daily management of the support spread as per vessels requirements (incorporables, fuel, water, food).
  • Organise daily conference calls for progress follow up and instruct the vessel on the following activities.
  • Support the PM in liaising with Client (onshore) regarding operational matters.
  • Define with the PM the level of management-of-change (MOC) and approve Major MOCs during execution of the project.
  • Manage company contribution to SIMOPS with other offshore assets.
  • Provides all required evidence to lodge any contractual claims, should they arise.
  • Ensure Non-Conformance Report are issued and closed out as required.
  • Issue the daily offshore spread activity report.

Demobilisation:

  • Develop the Demobilisation Plan.
  • Ensure all project equipment are timely demobilised and returned to suppliers.
  • Ensure export compliance.
  • Liaise with the yards to return fabricated installation aids and re-certification of rigging.
  • Feedback / Knowledge management:
  • Participate in Lessons Learnt meeting.
  • Provide input to the Project Operations Report.

Tenders Support

  • Identify the key Operations deliverables and establish the platform to support an effective tender submission through development of the schedule, cost comparisons, vessel and personnel operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Pursuit team, and the Tender Lead to develop the operational strategy for the tender.
  • Coordinate and consolidate all inputs from multiple disciplines (Engineering, SCM, Fabrication, Operations, etc⣦) to support the development of the operational planning.
  • Think out of the box to improve the offshore schedule and make the most of the client constraints.
  • Define requirements and produce SOW for SCM for 3rd party vessels and assets chartering/hiring.
  • Support the estimators in producing costing for the tender and its options.
  • Liaise with Engineering and VOMs to define the vessels POBs and provide input to the Estimators.
  • Support the Tender Lead with the preparation of presentations for gate reviews with the GPC&AP management team and Executives.
  • Support the tender lead and region with the post submission clarifications and negotiations to secure the win.
  • Organise and host meetings with the disciplines to facilitate the offshore schedule review.
  • Identify and constantly update the key Operations related risks throughout the tender.

Throughout the tender ensure:

  • adherence to tendering procedures and processes and maintain traceability throughout the tender and post tender clarification and negotiation phases;
  • adherence to operations department ways of working to organise the activities and store the tender experience for future use/handover to project team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
This role suits a dynamic and motivated individual. The Project Operations Manager role is ideal for those interested in working across functions and supporting projects on the field. It gives exposure to technical and practical aspects of the work during execution and strong involvement to the commercial side by budget definition and management in projects and decision making and strategic thinking during tenders supporting the business development.
The ideal candidate thrives interacting with various disciplines, departments and regions across the organisation and with clients, subcontractors and external organizations (local authorities, certifications bodies, etc⣦) and is keen to mentor junior engineers.

The successful candidates shall have/be:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in sub-sea construction recommended.
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to HSE and keen to promote safe practices.
  • Skilled in the co-ordination of multiple interfaces across functions.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to working in highly changeable environments, meeting tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality outcomes.
  • Possess experience in offshore operations, having worked on board installation vessels.
  • Committed to collaborative working in a multi-location team environment.
  • Mobility to travel to all international locations for short business trips or missions.
  • Good understanding of company products, activities and assets.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of French/Portuguese would be an advantage.

What does the role involve?

  • Develop and manage the Company technical scope of work document for the package for implementation in the flexible supplier engagement process. Ensuring the installation requirements are accounted for at the earliest stage of the process

Petroplan are assisting a client of ours with their search for a Project Engineer to join in office/offshore on a permanent basis. The client is an EPC operating within both O&G and renewables. They have offices in Aberdeen, Europe and Brazil.
As Project Engineer you will work within a team of project engineers and act as focal point on projects and relevant discipline engineers.
As such we are recruiting for a Project Engineer with 2/3 years' experience who is comfortable working offshore, in the office and at home. You must be someone who has demonstrated their interface skills, ability to work with contractors and the Client, as well as willingness to develop as a Project Engineer. You will become a key member of the team and have the exposure across Renewable and O&G Projects while being able to learn from a range of experienced Project and Senior Engineers within the business. We are in urgent need of a degree-qualified, chartered Civil/Structural engineer to support projects that have recently been won. Ideally we would like someone who would join on a full-time staff basis, preferably in the Humber area although we would consider hybrid working.

Work Scope

  • Tank bund walls and tertiary containment
  • Topographic surveys
  • Interpretation of site investigations
  • Writing of civil/structural reports
  • Designing schemes that can be designed and drawings issued to clients
  • Steel buildings
  • Design concrete slabs / supports
  • Pipe supports
  • Investigating civil issues for clients and design remedial works
  • Vent stack design

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership
  • Must be able to produce CAD drawings and calculations using Solid Works or STADD PRO
  • Site visits may be required

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer with good communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined team. The overall purpose of the role is to manage the interface between the reservoir, wells, and operational teams to optimize productivity from wells.

Key Accountabilities

  • Build a production surveillance infrastructure to allow;
  • Evaluation and maintenance of production allocation
  • Collation of information to allow analysis of gas and condensate production and sales
  • Identification of water production if applicable
  • Communicating with onshore control room to efficiently manage production
  • Responsible for daily nominations against long- and short-term production forecasts
  • Coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to;
  • Optimise timing and value of maintenance work
  • Direct activities such as taking regular and representative HC samples
  • Maintenance/calibration of offshore wet gas meters
  • Collaboration with well operator in relation to well integrity issues
  • Monitor wells for any production behavioural changes - contribute to planning and coordinating any performance intervention activities
  • Flow assurance, working closely with Operations Team & Development Manager
  • Working with the Subsurface Team to develop Reservoir Management Plans
  • Well & network modelling/monitoring of company infrastructure (Prosper/MBAL/GAP)
  • Support the planning of new field development
  • Support evaluation of business development opportunities
  • Excellent communication with field Operator, Development Manager & Executive Team
  • Support in the Corporate Reserves process
  • Partner meetings & TCM updates

Qualifications & Experience
Your skills and experience will include:

  • 7 years' experience of production engineering
  • Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with low perm hydraulically stimulated gas fields
  • Production management of gas fields
  • UK Southern North Sea experience
  • Experience using PETEX Suite (GAP, MBAL & Prosper)
  • Experience of using TNav software suite
  • Production chemistry experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience with hydrocarbon accounting software would be an advantage

We are currently supporting our energy sector EPC client in recruiting a Senior Planning Engineer to join their team in Surrey on a staff basis. In this role you will be responsible for providing a complete planning Engineering service to both project and corporate management for Proposals and Projects either as part of a large project team or covering all planning and scheduling aspects on smaller projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Project Controls Manager.
  • Manages and leads all activities related to project planning and accountable for managing the overall Master Control Schedule, collation and reporting of progress against this Control Schedule.
  • Setup and manage the project Master Control Schedule and facilitate the operation of the project planning and progress measurement systems.
  • Ensures planning and progress measurement procedures for contractors and vendors conform to Project requirements and are effectively applied.
  • Ensures that the detailed planning of the various phases of the work is in accordance with the project strategy and milestones to achieve the overall project plan.
  • Calculate and report project schedule performance metrics and generate S-Curves and other tables and charts as required.
  • Responsibilities typically include:
  • Project controls: reporting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Look ahead reports of tasks to be performed in the 3 - 6 weeks
  • Identification of Risks in schedules and mitigation actions
  • Identification of Opportunities in the schedule.
  • Responsible for timely issue of project control deliverables and progress reports.
  • Provide relevant reports to project management to ensure the Project Manager has all the tools required to make the right decisions driving on time and on budget project execution.
  • Interact with the customer to provide update on schedule as well as explain the current situation / challenges / opportunities.
  • Implementation of the integrated project planning initiative: the planner will adhere to the approved processes and proactively drive implementation of new initiatives leading to fully integrated planning.
  • Provide leadership to planning engineers, schedulers and cost engineers to plan, monitor, and control the execution of the project within the time and budget parameters, optimising resource utilisation.
  • Support the Project Controls Manager and Project Management Team in planning and identifying issues that could limit progress or impact project budgets.
  • Corporate reporting line is to the Project Controls and Business Director.
  • Support project management team in initiating and preparing time and cost related variations and claims.
  • Monitor progress against schedules and expedite updating data required from the discipline groups.
  • Prepare and maintain client and management progress curves and look ahead reports for the project in line with the required reporting levels and requirements of the contract.
  • Evaluate discipline change notices, determine schedule impact of all affected areas.
  • Support the materials control group in developing and maintaining a requisition tracking system.
  • Ensure timely project reporting to an appropriate level of detail which gives early warning of adverse performance trends.
  • Perform related duties as and when instructed by direct supervisor.



Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Recent FEED, EPC / EPCm experience in the oil & gas sector in a similar role.
  • Recent experience of leading planning delivery on greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Capable of performing duties with no direct supervision and within agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Understands the project deliverables, milestones and required tasks and targets through the project progress measurement system.
  • Capable of using initiative, knowledge and experience to recognise, highlight and address opportunities and threats as and when they emerge.

As a Rigid Pipeline/Riser Engineer, you will work on the following three main axes:

  • Project support: Expert input to subsea projects to support implementation of new rigid pipeline and riser technologies and to support critical areas of project execution
  • Technology development: Development of novel products, methods and services to address new technical challenges and to optimize the way we deliver rigid subsea pipelines and risers on projects
  • Engineering consolidation: Development of digital/engineering tools and methods to standardize and improve the way we deliver rigid subsea pipelines and risers on projects

Duties

Project Support

  • Pre-execute studies to support front-end and commercial teams through the concept development, FEED and tender phases
  • Detailed engineering activities to support the execution of projects where novel products, methods and services are being implemented
  • Engineering support for critical areas of project execution
  • Management of work scopes undertaken by specialist engineering subcontractors

Technology Development

  • Development of business cases to support the technology development of new products, methods and services
  • Definition of technology development programs for new products, methods and services, including Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and associated development and qualification plans
  • Execution of development and qualification programs, including design, numerical simulation, concept and prototype testing to confirm system performance to the intended service conditions
  • Management of subcontracted supply and testing services at selected subcontractor(s)
  • Preparation of qualification reports and third-party certification

Engineering Consolidation

  • Development of standards, guidelines and best practice to consolidate, simplify and standardize the way a subsea pipeline or riser is engineered
  • Development of engineering tools, including calculation modules developed in Mathcad, Excel/VBA, Python and/or commercial numerical analysis packages (such as ABAQUS and ORCAFLEX), related to subsea pipeline and riser design and installation
  • Development of procurement specifications and tools
  • Participation in industry activities where appropriate, including conference presentation and publications, code and standard development

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Must have a good degree (BEng, MEng or equivalent) in a mechanical, structural or related engineering discipline. The degree must contain a thorough grounding in the theory and techniques of mechanical and structural engineering
  • Proven ability to address and solve challenging technical engineering problems
  • Proven ability in engineering analysis
  • High level of numerical ability
  • High level of computational literacy
  • Track record in using industry standard engineering analysis packages, such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and/or ORCAFLEX
  • For senior positions, experience of subsea pipeline/riser engineering with good understanding of relevant design codes, standards and recommended practices

Preferred Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Post graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in a mechanical, structural or related engineering subject
  • For senior positions, experience of supervising junior engineers
  • Extensive experience of advanced finite element analysis (FEA), including complex non-linear FEA (large deformation, plasticity, contact problems)
  • Ability to program in Python, VBA and MathCad
  • Practical experience gained either at a pipeline fabrication site and/or offshore pipelay or construction vessel
  • Knowledge of linear elastic and elastic-plastic fracture mechanics
  • Knowledge of basic statistics

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform installations, repairs, commissioning and startup of various types of turbomachinery at our global facilities and trade customers. The successful candidate will enjoy:

POSITION SUMMARY

The position will be responsible for both new equipment start-ups and commissioning activities as well as field service repairs, upgrades of a broad variety of expansion, compression, and fluid handling equipment used in air separation, hydrocarbon, and petrochemical applications.

The incumbent must uphold the company's safety philosophy and processes for all field service activities. This position will support the expander business along with a variety of other rotating equipment in support of our business.

This position reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent will have primary responsibility for customer interfacing field service support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a safe work environment by ensuring all company safe work procedures are followed and implementing the company Basic Safety Process
  • Understand industrial safe work processes and standards in the ASU, hydrocarbon and petrochemical environment.
  • Supervise customer representatives and contractors on proper equipment changeouts, overhauls and startup of various rotating equipment
  • Travel to customer sites working independently as a representative of the company
  • Demonstrate both professional and technical knowledge of turbomachinery and reciprocating equipment
  • Solve problems by identifying, defining, analyzing and then making sound, timely decisions working with engineering
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills; maintain free and open communication
  • Understand and demonstrate knowledge in reading prints, flows sheets and product designs; provide liaison between the field and engineering and project managers to resolve technical problems as necessary
  • Assist regional business development managers with customer site assessments and act as the technical liaison between customers and company commercial teams
  • Ensure trip reports are generated at the completion of all trips documenting scope of all work performed
  • Manage and ensure expense reports are complete and accurate on a monthly basis

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with focus on engineering
  • Proven experience of 10 or more years of field service with supervisory responsibility in a similar field
  • Previous experience with reciprocating and centrifugal pumps, compressors, and expanders
  • Knowledge of industry work practices required
  • Working knowledge in air separation and hydrocarbon plant processes and controls
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
  • Proficient with PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Multi-OEM experience preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The Field Service Engineer position requires an individual with strong leadership abilities coupled with a good mechanical aptitude; strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills are essential to the position
  • The ability to work collaboratively across the business to perform responsibilities with minimum direction from management
  • The ability to understand, implement, and meet the schedule commitments to meet critical customer completion requirements
