Petroplan are recruiting on behalf of their client for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Basingstoke in a staff position.

You will be responsible for providing expert technical input and organizational input to electrical engineering activities on a wide range of projects from studies and design, to troubleshooting, commissioning, and decommissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring quality of work undertaken by themselves and others is commensurate with the goal of the activity considering the constraints of time and budget.
  • Acting as technical specialist and/or where applicable lead electrical engineer on projects and engineering activities.
  • Undertake the competent engineering of electrical systems in accordance with specified procedures and plans as assigned by the Project lead/Chief.
  • Where required, supervise the technical activities of others to complete activities to the required technical standard.
  • Undertaking short term visits to a wide range of operating site and company regional offices worldwide.
  • Coordinating and expediting discipline and multidiscipline interfaces for areas of responsibility.
  • Critically reviewing the suitability and accuracy of company technical standards and procedures and develop new ones as required.
  • Evaluating the effect of new/modified legislation on plant design and performance
  • Ensuring all activities necessary to guarantee the design of a 'safe' plant are performed.

Skills and requirements:

  • Fluent in English
  • Working knowledge of Italian Language (preferred, not essential)
  • Experience in the provision of concept and detailed design associated with the Oil and Gas Industry either as a Contractor or Oil Company Personnel at a high professional level. Experience preferred in Upstream Engineering.
  • A wide breadth of experience in Concept, Basic/FEED and Detail Engineering projects for Oil & Gas (onshore and/or offshore).
  • Technically competent in all aspects of electrical engineering (Power Generation and Distribution).
  • Experience in reviewing of power system studies and specifications (e.g. Load flow, short circuit, motor starting analysis); Design of power distribution systems for electrical networks; electrical equipment specifications/datasheets for main electrical equipment; preparation of single line diagrams; substation, switch room and plant layout design; electrical surveys for O&G plants; preparation of requisitions for electrical equipment; technical appraisal of Vendor bids for electrical equipment.
  • Fully conversant with IEC standards and "Oil & Gas" standard practices.
  • Experience on design of Floating Units.
  • Certified for working offshore and Basic knowledge of ETAP.
  • Master's degree in of Electrical Engineering.
  • Member of a relevant Institution, Preferred Chartered Eng.

Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for the identification and the tracking of all CPI, permanent items, equipment, material, installation aids & consumables used for and during the Project, throughout its movement from mobilisation to demobilisation locations.
  • Liaise with all parties within the project to consolidate, update and follow the Master Material List which is the exhaustive list of items mentions above.
  • Ensure all parties are informed in due time of the flow of material in and out, especially the local logistic entities, to allow smooth and efficient flows.
  • Provide on a regular basis, at least once a week, the Master Material List and report any delays or particulars which could affect the project or part of it.
  • Identify issues at an early stage and highlight them to the relevant stakeholders in order to develop mitigations and reduce impacts to schedule and operations.
  • Liaise with countries and ships/ barges organisations (in-countries logistic teams, ships/barges/yards storekeepers) to track all movements and storages.
  • Ensure that all paperwork necessary for identification, clearance and transportation such as cargo manifest, packing list, airway bill, material certificate, dangerous goods declaration, are available to local countries organisations and to Project's entities.
  • Support the issue of a comprehensive & exhaustive demobilisation plan in close co-ordination with OPS Logistics and PMT.
  • Ensure, jointly with Field Engineers and/or Project Engineers, that equipment material & remaining consumables are demobilised as planned returned to their origins in a timely fashion to avoid extra costs to the project.
  • Be aware of other projects requirements (in the same region or other regions) to find synergies for equipment demob/mob.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • First level technical or logistic or similar university degree
  • Preferably experience in a similar position (logistic, store keeping, inventory control and material control task).
  • Preferably, experience in Oil and Gas business.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English mandatory.
  • Very good knowledge of standard office software.
  • This position required Regular Missions to local logistics sites and other offices.

Role Overview/Purpose
To coordinate all General Services management activities in a landmark office building located on the Basing View business park development in central Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK.
The building was constructed and completed in 1983 and is under a long-term lease from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to our client. The premises comprise of seven main floors Basement through to Sixth floor of occupied and fully furnished office space with a basement cafeteria, extensive parking and external landscaping with two further floors above the Sixth floor, which houses major plant and equipment as well as the lift motor and equipment room. A total working space of c 10,000 sqm. There is room for approx. 650 personnel, a mix of owner occupier, project client personnel and other tenants.

Duties include, but are not limited to

  • Liaising with internal clients, contractors and vendors
  • Ensure effective management of 3rd Party contractors and vendors, including effective Budget Management for all contracts
  • Ensure all contract documentation is in place
  • Raising purchase orders and other procurement documentation
  • Attending meetings to ensure the smooth running of all house services
  • Managing tender information requests and client/3rd party audits
  • Managing and carrying out internal office moves
  • Managing internal events
  • Directing small building works projects
  • Assisting building tenants and developing relationships
  • Directing 3rd party maintenance, Concierge Services and Catering Services teams
  • Using a facilities team helpdesk
  • Ensure site compliance with legislation

This is a key role within our client's group and provides the opportunity to be part of the wider energy transition phase by being involved in multiple initiatives and technical projects to make a significant impact on fleet performance and a reduction in vessel emissions as well as being able to work and collaborate across multiple areas of our clients business including Fleet and Equipment, Asset & Development, Digitalisation, Energy transition and the Sustainability groups.
The role will be based in the UK, as such candidates are required to have right to work in the UK.
The role will be reporting to the Marine Systems Technical Authority and there may be the requirement of international travel.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Demonstrable, relevant marine/offshore experience in the capacity of Chief Engineer, 1st or 2nd Engineer.

You will have, within the defined geography, have responsibility and accountability for:

  • New standard plant sales.
  • All associated and stand-alone customer plant support service sales.
  • Management and retention of a defined portfolio (15-25) trading accounts.


You will also be the primary point of contact for all standard plant opportunities and all customer plant technical services opportunities for the designated geography.

  • initiating and maintaining a proactive outreach program to existing regional account customers (installed base) and potential customers (competitor plant owners) to offer a range of technical services, training, spares, upgrades, and retrofits.
  • leading, through CRM Account planning, a portfolio of 'standard' ESPS plant sales and service customers consistent with ESPS and personal goals for each Fiscal Year.
  • developing and running the commercial relationship with assigned EPC companies for proactive engagement of future opportunities.
  • developing and leading periodic regional business unit Industrial Gas (Sale-of-Gas) and/or Joint Venture reviews to ensure alignment for current opportunities and future planning.


You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Good understanding of standard plant technology.
  • Account and/or Project Management experience.
  • Effective customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good proven understanding of contractual and financial business requirements.
  • An ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels within the company and with customers, across different national boundaries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands, driven by the project as well as off-line commitments.

Description:
Responsible for procurement strategies and tactics for a focused product or service area, ensuring business requirements are fulfilled and value is optimized across multiple businesses. Also accountable for the overall development and implementation of sourcing strategies and supply market intelligence in their area of responsibility.

Accountable for:

  • Building, enhancing and managing the relationship with the business ensuring effective alignment of Procurement & Supply Chain Management to the business strategies.
  • Understanding the regional and global business requirements for third party goods and services;
  • Builds and maintains profiles of supply market and key suppliers (includes both current and potential suppliers);

Responsibilities;

  • Offer functional support for the suite of Supply Chain Systems.
  • Follow IT procedures for system configuration and system testing.
  • Ensure all applications changes follow the IT change management process.
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Analyze complex business problems and offer solutions to the customer.
  • Performing requirements analysis, define objectives and scope of work.
  • Coordinate the development of documentation to enable implementation and turnover of the process of system
  • Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

Qualifications and Experience:
