Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Engineer

Petroplan are assisting a major client of ours in the search for a Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Engineer to assist with subsea activities under the direction of the Subsea Commissioning Lead, Construction Manager and Installation Lead Engineer to ensure work is executed in accordance to company and project policies.

Location: South East, UK

Day Rate: Dependent on Experience

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within Oil & Gas. Preferably as a rep on an installation vessel
  • Offshore construction and installation experience on shallow water/deepwater projects
  • To review and endorse pre-commissioning method statements
  • Stakeholder engagement with the pre-commissioning sub-contractor on a daily basis
  • Travel will be required

Key Responsibilities:

  • As the Cost Estimator, your primary responsibility will be to manage all cost estimating
  • activities for our project business, through establishing a new cost data base and managing
  • cost estimates for our project tenders.
  • Work as the primary anchor for all cost estimating activities
  • Create and maintain a cost database for our project business
  • Manage feedback and validate cost estimates with actual costs from completed projects
  • Create and manage cost estimates for project tenders and budgetary proposals
  • Support our Procurement Department to identify requirements for Frame Agreements
  • Maintain and continuously develop existing Cost Calculators, Assess alternative tools for cost estimation
  • Produce accurate cashflows to ensure neutral / positive project funding and help negotiate milestone payments
  • Ensure consistency in how we estimate costs across regions and scopes
  • Take an active role in developing the process of cost estimation participation in ad-hoc workgroups, make proposals to process changes to further strengthen this area, etc.

Who we are looking for:

  • Applicants for this vacancy should offer extensive experience with cost estimation and support of project tenders.
  • Experience of the oil & gas and/or offshore wind sector(s) is essential and a must, as is a degree qualification in Finance, Business, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • A commercial mindset and strong MS Excel skills are required.
  • Experience from EPCI tendering and contracting is preferred.

Proposals Coordinator

Upon receipt of an RFQ, the Proposals Coordinator shall be responsible for a thorough review of all applicable documentation and the preparation of a combined commercial and technical proposal. Liaising with the other relevant internal departments to help ensure the proposal is ready for management approval prior to submittal to the client.


LISTING OF KEY DUTIES FOR THE ROLE

  • Review the Client's RFQ documentation.
  • Provide applicable client specifications and SOW to the technical department and collate any technical clarifications for discussion with the client.
  • Perform material usage calculations using company provided templates.
  • Prepare the proposal, including both technical and commercial aspects, for internal review in accordance with Client requirement's.
  • Attend both internal and client meetings as required.

Marine Systems Engineer

Job Title: Marine Systems Engineer (Preferably Mechanical Bias) - Candidates must have rights to work in UK without the need of company visa/permit sponsorship.

Location: UK - Home working optional with circa 20/25% of time to be spent offshore, office locations available in London / Aberdeen

Salary/Benefits:

  • This position is open to candidates with varying levels of experience so the basic salary will vary.

  • Offshore uplift dependent on grade but circa £150 per day offshore through the week and £500 per day offshore at weekends

  • Pension contributions 5% employee 9% employer

  • 26 days annual leave bank holidays, additional annual leave can be agreed if extensive overtime is worked

This role is for a marine systems engineer to perform a variety of tasks, as listed below, on marine systems auxiliaries (cooling systems, fuel, lubrication, compressed air, ventilation & HVAC, valves), ballast and bilge systems, cranes, pipelay and cablelay equipment:

  • Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Create proving trials programs to support the desktop FMEA
  • Create annual trials programs for the ongoing verification and validation of the FMEA
  • Attend onboard vessels to witness proving and annual trials
  • General Marine consultancy
  • Perform risk based critical analysis on mission specific equipment with regards to design, operational interface, capability and general suitability for intended operations.
  • Assurance audits and inspections of marine systems

We are looking for an experienced marine engineer to further enhance our marine operations team providing support across all aspects of our assurance and surveying services.

We would expect all applicants to have the following:

  • Experience of performing FMEAs on marine systems
  • Knowledge and experience of working with IMCA, IMO, MTS and OCIMF codes and guidelines
  • Knowledge of and experience with dynamic positioning systems
  • Current offshore medical and survival certificate
  • Good communication skills at all levels of an organisation, both internally and externally
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office suite as a minimum)
  • Flexibility in working conditions including a willingness to travel offshore and overseas often adhoc or at very short notice
  • Motivation to learn and grow their professional career
  • Good report writing and technical authoring skills

In addition, the following attributes would be welcome although not essential:

  • An Engineering Degree at least Bachelors level
  • Sea going experience as Chief Engineer, ETO or similar
  • DP Maintenance Certificate
  • Achieved or working towards IMCA DP Practitioner Accreditation Scheme
  • Understanding of computer applications (Oracle/SAP/I Inspect, etc.)
  • Good existing network within the UK Maritime and Energy market
  • Good existing network within the offshore industry professional bodies
  • Member or Chartership with an appropriate engineering institute and/or industry bodies/forums/societies

Project Engineer

Petroplan are assisting a major client of ours in their search for a Project Engineer engineering skills to projects, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessels & equipment and/or offshore engineering processes.

The Project Engineer will ensure execution of technical project objectives and with guidance, develops and applies a working knowledge of:

  • Onshore fabrication methods and practice
  • Subsea construction techniques (diver and diverless), equipment and methods (including estimation and planning of construction and IRM activities)
  • Rigging/seafastening design, equipment and methods (including any legislative and regulatory requirements)
  • Basic vessel motion response theory
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication/construction contracting methods, with good commercial awareness

Location: Aberdeen

Core Competencies/Requirements:

Onshore:

  • Develop project-specific procedures for the implementation of work to be carried out by onshore & offshore personnel in accordance with client minimum standards. This includes liaising directly with clients and subcontractors.
  • Be involved in HAZID studies & TRA's of tasks detailed in the procedures.
  • Be involved in and have a good understanding of Specific Risk Assessments (isolations and barriers)

Offshore:

  • Assist in the mobilisation/demobilisation of vessels to ensure that all equipment is handled in the correct manner and everyone involved is aware of all safety and technical aspects of the mob/demob.
  • Provide all necessary technical briefings to offshore personnel ensuring that the overall working and safety philosophy of the project is fully understood by offshore personnel.

  • Ownership of the interim and annual external reporting processes under IFRS, liaising with senior management and the Board to ensure high-quality production of the glossy accounts as well as internal reporting for strategic planning purposes
  • Managed and developed the Group's Finance Reporting team whilst ensuring best practice accounting across the global business and having responsibility for accounting policies and procedures
  • Managed highly complex cross-border consolidation, having full ownership of the process and the consolidation system itself
  • Responsibility for the internal reporting process including monthly consolidation (SAP) and production of board packs, whilst liaising closely with divisions to ensure timely completion of local results
  • Significantly reduced the reporting timeframe for the filing of the group's consolidated IFRS statements
  • Acted as key advisor to the business on treatments for new accounting standards and issues whilst being the key contact for the group auditors
  • Built strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business including Tax, Treasury, IR and Strategy, developing the profile and reputation of the Financial Reporting team

Education, experience & qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
  • Professional Qualification (ACA or ACCA) is essential
  • At least 7 years of experience largely gained working on Group Audits of a variety of listed businesses, predominantly FTSE 100 and FTSE 250
