Site Supervisor


Petroplan is looking for an Site Supervisor to work alongside an European EPC and O&M service provider specialised in Solar Utility-Scale projects and based in London. Because the construction sites will be on the area of Middlesbrough and Newcastle we're looking for a candidate close to this location.

Responsabilities:


Administrative / Management:

  • Management of operation and maintenance department and contracts
  • Prepare budgets and proposals under existing contracts
  • Define pricing for new operation and maintenance contracts by analyzing specifications
  • Prepare the operation and maintenance contracts
  • Warranty claims management
  • Assist in the preparation of P&L quarterly
  • Assist management in administrative matters (Office management, map making, HR, etc.)
  • Track purchase orders and billing the maintenance department
  • Management of subcontracted companies


Engineering:

  • Monitoring of photovoltaic solar projects (through web platforms)
  • Contribute to the definition of solutions to problems identified in preventive maintenance / punch lists / planning of interventions
  • Assist the Engineering department in communication network studies
  • Identify production/data problems through indicator analysis
  • Database Administration (SQL and MySQL), data manipulation and visualization techniques;

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrotechnical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideally: Experience in operation and maintenance in the photovoltaic solar area
  • Solid knowledge of networks and communications, from the perspective of implementer;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and VBA
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to set priorities in a changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent English knowledge spoken and written.

We are recruiting for a 3D AutoCAD Design Manager to assist an extremely talented Design Engineering team to contribute to their growth across Solar, BESS, Marine and Transportation.

My client is headquartered in London but the role can be based anywhere in the UK, with the expectation that those who aren't based in London will be open to visiting the office and the team in London once a month.

About the role:
The role will support and assist our Marine project development team on a portfolio of opportunities across the UK and internationally. Our projects are at early development stage, so you will be involved with the wider team on activities from initial site feasibility, right through to project construction.

We are looking for a multi-skilled candidate having broad experience in developing technical solutions, within the renewable energy sector and marine sector (onshore but experience in offshore too will be preferential).

You will be expected to cover broad Technical Development design drawings of high-voltage distribution and transmission level infrastructure including the renewable energy assets across UK (initial focus is on stand-alone utility scale battery storage and large scale co-located solar and battery with onshore wind projects within the next 24 months).
So high voltage development background with an energy/power utility or technical consultancy organisation as the BIM lead and coordinator would be an advantage, with past experience in the marine industry related to energy and power projects is
advantageous.

We expect the successful candidate to have:

* Facilitate and assist design team to develop details for 3D design intent drawings and prepare drawings for the public consultation, planning submission and integration into Digital Twins
* Use computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create 3D model technical drawings to manage the design documentation for planning submission, project tendering and public consultation engagement
* Practical understanding and experience of delivering 3D construction drawings of high voltage electrical infrastructure in UK. This includes relevant compliance and safety in design and construction standards including the standards specific to the renewable generation like Solar PV, BESS, eV charging and on-shore wind in UK. Offshore experience in wind or tidal will be
preferential.
* Demonstrated practical understanding of design drawings, equipment involved and appreciation of construction of high voltage infrastructure (e.g. cables, transformers, CBs, substations, BESS, AIS, GIS) from 33kV to 400kV.
* Develops and maintains technical documentation including the creation of plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules and all required elements of design and construction documentation in Revit and 3D AutoCAD with BIM adopted in the deliverable production workflows
* Work with consultants, contractors, and vendors to meet overall project objectives and support project development
* Collaborate, liaise and coordinate with cross-functional teams and external parties to resolve product design issues including design checking, review and submission

Role Accountabilities

* Strong ownership - able and willing to self-deliver, hands-on, management of external consultants for project development from an engineering point of view. The technical design will include pre[1]construction feasibility, supplier engagement, detailed design (for construction) of onshore located power networks. The networks will be distributing power from generation and electricity storage assets from tens to hundreds of MWs, from 33kV to 400kV.
* Own/lead on other technical matters (from technical point of view) such as BIM, 3D CAD design. Digital Twins etc.
* Support and collaborate with other teams working on the projects from a land, planning and grid connection perspective. Support senior management with budgeting and strategy setting.
* Supporting project development.

Essentials:

* Technical savviness applied to new problems, innovative and experimental approach, open minded problem solving and entrepreneurial mindset.
* CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator (CCBC) or above with minimum 3 years of BIM experience and implementation of the whole BIM system

The Financial Modeller/Energy Market Analyst will support the UK Development Director and team in managing the development of renewables projects across the UK (initial focus is on stand alone utility scale battery storage and substations, and large scale co-located solar and battery with onshore wind, tidal, hydrogen and demand side projects within the next 24 months) and will be directly responsible for all the financial modelling of the projects, keeping the models up to date, ensuring all model assumptions are as accurate as possible, modelling scenarios for changes to specific assumptions, deriving the financial viability of projects from initial project appraisal all the way through to Ready to Build (RTB), Commercial Operations Date (COD) and long-term operations of the project.

Responsibility for the bankable financial model for specific projects at point of sale (anticipated to be at RTB or COD) and contributing to the due diligence process for these transactions. Monthly reporting to the Board on the financial position of our projects, informing the Board of forecasted changes to project financials from a modelling assumption perspective, updating the Board on changes in the UK energy market and advising on the likely energy market future outlook as a result of in depth market analysis, including identification of future market opportunities. Development of market analysis and project performance evaluations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Financial Modelling

  • Prepare, manage and keep updated individual project financial models
  • Manage internal decisional tools (decision tracking) relating to financial model assumptions
  • Set up, manage and track project financial model output reporting tools and assumption change forecasts
  • Support the identification of suitable external consultants. Oversee and manage their work and ensure compliance with the respective financial model related engagement contracts
  • Support with project feasibility assessment from a financial viability perspective
  • Undertake early stage assessment of prospective projects to identify and appraise financial risk, issues and opportunities
  • Set up and manage financial models for new business opportunities
  • Lead on financial model input validation
  • Implement and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure accurate and continuous up to date financial model assumption inputs
  • Liaise with the project development and grid teams to keep updated the project development cashflow, project milestone timeline and grid cost inputs for the project financial models

Management & Control

  • Manage the process of quarterly financial model updating across all projects
  • Generate the periodic management reporting including key development issues and development risks alongside possible risk mitigation
  • Generate the monthly financial model consolidated portfolio update reports using the financial model outputs

UK Energy Market Analysis:

  • Monitor current UK energy market legislative and policy issues (nationally and internationally where there are impacts to the UK) that may affect the company's project development activities, communicating this with the Development Director
  • Appraise and monitor UK energy market fundamentals, providing monthly analysis on market impactors and forecasting project financial impacts
