Roles and Responsibilities

  • Delivering the regional floating systems and structural integrity management plans for supporting assets based on company guidance and industry codes, owning the asset floating systems and structural inspection, monitoring, and maintenance strategies determining the facility's current condition.
  • Being the owner of the floating systems and structural performance standards of the supported facilities. Assessing whether, in its current condition, the facility meets the performance standards following company guidance and industry codes. Reporting significant deterioration in structural condition or any deviation from the performance standards through the company dashboard, emerging risk process, and risk assurance tool as appropriate.
  • Driving efforts to ensure floating systems or metocean engineering risks are understood, controlled, and continuously reduced across the business to deliver safe and reliable operating results. Quantifying and effectively communicating risks to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ensuring design and operations follow industry codes and/or technical practices and performance standards, assessing the impact of significant changes in load (weight) or changes to operating conditions on the integrity of the assets.
  • Being accountable for defining the floating systems and structural engineering scope of work for brownfield or greenfield projects and providing technical assurance for third-party engineering deliveries, maintaining relationships with third-party providers and contractors.
  • Supporting agile working as part of an agile team or providing support to an agile team as required.
  • Actively contributing to the floating system's Community of Practice and sharing best practices and learnings.


Essential Experience and Job Requirements

  • Degree in civil/structural engineering, naval architecture, ocean engineering, or a closely aligned discipline.
  • Chartered engineer, professional engineer, or near chartered/professional status in closely aligned discipline, or evidence of progression towards full chartered/professional status.
  • Capable of communicating both verbally and in writing clearly and succinctly.

JOB FUNCTION
Provide Project Management leadership to deliver integrated development projects from Pre-Development through Operate stages. Drive design, interface, and delivery model to support Gulf of Mexico Development Strategy.
Responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide Project Management leadership for Gulf of Mexico tieback developments, including management of project scope, schedule, and budget according to strategic business objectives
  • Provide a comprehensive and consistent approach to project planning & execution from Pre-Development through Operate stages
  • Manage embedded contractor resources required to support project execution
  • Manage 3rd Party contractor relationships and scopes to support project execution, contracting model
  • Provide guidance for Gulf of Mexico decommissioning, life extension, maintenance, reliability, and inspection projects, as required
  • Support development of facilities standards
  • Adherence to the Management of Change process
  • Ensure comprehensive value capture approach through opportunities, risk, cost, and schedule development

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 20 years of relevant Project Management and delivery experience in offshore oil and gas for large capital projects ( $100MM)
  • Comprehensive understanding Gulf of Mexico facility and tieback infrastructure and equipment management with drilling and completions to support tree installation and well hook-up
  • Direct operator experience providing engineering and design management, including project execution experience from early engineering through execution/implementation
  • Construction management experience, including contract execution, and installation management
  • Project Management delivery through offshore hook-up and commissioning, including operations hand-over
  • Understands Project Controls and Information Management requirements to support cost, schedule, management of change, and document management processes from Pre-development to operations.
  • Interface management within Gulf of Mexico stakeholders including Operations, Regulatory, Production Engineering, Subsurface and Drilling and Completions Teams
  • Knowledge of key SURF-Topsides-Hull interfaces to ensure comprehensive project evaluation and delivery
  • Understanding of offshore regulatory requirements in the Gulf of Mexico for overall project delivery

Senior Electrical Engineer

The Senior Electrical Engineer is a member of the Capital Projects Group (CPG) and reports directly to the CPG Engineering Manager. The Senior Electrical Engineer is primarily accountable for Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) of Engineering Deliverables by the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor beginning with Detailed Design through Commissioning and Startup.
This role is also accountable for ensuring FLNG Capital Projects Electrical System design meets or exceeds contractual and regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The complexity of the electrical power systems in both the Liquefaction (LQF) and Pretreatment (PTF) Facilities requires a high level of experience and technical expertise to provide assurance of electrical design deliverables along with proper QA/QC of procurement, installation and construction of electrical systems.
Candidates should have an understanding of Electrical subject matter relevant to FLNG LQF and PTF facilities, such as Power System Modeling, Power System Harmonics, working and interfacing with Utilities, High Voltage (HV) Substations, HV Transmission Lines, HV Cables, HV Gas Insulated Circuit Breakers, HV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Load Commutated Inverter (LCI) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Synchronous Motors, Harmonic Filters, Power System Protection, Power Management and Control System (PMCS), Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Distribution Switchgear, Power, Distribution and Lighting Transformers, Essential Generators, Lighting, and DC systems.
Duties/Responsibilities

- Review and comment on Specifications and Data Sheets
- Review and comment on Detailed Design Deliverables
- Review and comment on Procurement Packages
- Review and comment on Supplier Document Deliverables
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) of Electrical Systems (infrequent domestic and international travel should be expected)
- Participate in Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) of Electrical Systems
- Review and comment on Power System Study reports consisting of Short Circuit Protection, Arc-Flash, Load Flow
- Review and comment on Protection Schemes, Equipment Ratings, and Protection documents
- Review and comment on Hazardous Area Classification documentation
- Provide support to Regulatory Team for electrical issues
- Coordinate SAFOP (eHAZOP) of Electrical System during the design phase
- Manage resolution of SAFOP follow-up activities by EPC and Freeport LNG
- Participate in HAZOPs and HAZIDs as required?
Essential Functions
- Provide Engineering Assurance of EPC design deliverables
- Provide ?over the shoulder? review of EPC deliverables as necessary/required
- Participate in Design Review meetings with EPC
- Participate in Problem Resolution meetings with EPC
- Review and comment on Change Order Requests by EPC
- Participate in meetings with CenterPoint Energy regarding grid configuration, future changes, and interaction with grid equipment

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

Minimum Experience:
- 10 years direct experience with HV and MV electrical power systems, HV Cable Systems, VFDs, Synchronous Motors, and application and programming of Protective Relays
- Proficiency with ANSI/NEMA equipment requirements, National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E and Safety in Design

Preferred Experience:
- 15 years? experience with HV and MV electrical power systems and specifically HV Cable Systems, HV Gas Insulated Circuit Breakers, HV Air Insulated Switchyard Equipment, HV Gas Insulated Switchgear, Harmonics, application of Harmonic Filters, Essential Generators, application and programming of Protective Relays, Illumination Systems, Grounding, Ground Potential Rise, Lightning Protection, Bonding
- Experience in Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) equipment.
