Marine Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Marine Specialist - Oil & Gas Operator - Houston, Texas

Our client, a leading and fast growing Owner / Operator, are seeking a Marine Specialist to join them as a staff employee in Houston. This role will play a key part within the Marine Operations team whilst working closely with Commercial Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the back-up to the Marine Operations Manager who is the primary marine operations representative at the terminal.
  • Is the assistant marine operations point of contact for other port terminal operators, ships agents, harbor marine pilots, line handling contractors, vessel representatives, cargo and vessel surveyors, USCG, Port Freeport and the LNG cargo schedulers.
  • Becomes proficient with company IT systems that are relevant to Marine Operations, following company provided training.
  • Participates in the development of the company Cargo Management System (CMS), including the documentation of its requirements, review of functional design documents and draft reports and interface with the IT/MIS and
  • Commercial teams in the testing and final implementation of the CMS.
  • Assists with preparation and updates of company internal system user guides related to Marine Operations.
  • Assists with the review of ship documentation for determination of every ships physical Compatibility with the terminals two docks.
  • Assists with the review of ship documentation for company determination of the Operational and Commercial
  • Acceptability of each ship that is scheduled to arrive at the terminal.
  • Ensures guidelines for all marine procedures applicable to vessel arrivals and departures are coordinated with Terminal Operations.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of USCG terminal security regulations and the company Facility Security Plan (FSP), which plan is Sensitive Security Information (SSI).
  • Maintains an understanding of the Marine Operations related obligations under the company Liquefaction Tolling Agreements.
  • Communicates daily, and as necessary, with LNG vessels inbound to the terminal.
  • Participates in discussions involving the LNG terminals Operations and Maintenance schedules and procedures with regard to the condition and status of the terminals waterfront facilities.
  • Maintains a forecast of planned maintenance work that is required at either of the docks and coordinate with
  • Maintenance, Terminal Operations and Commercial, the scheduling of that work in order to minimize its impact on efficient cargo export operations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Oil & Gas industry related experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in a related subject.
  • LNG experience is preferred.
  • Valid US Work Permit.
