Administrative Assistant

Our client, a large oil & gas organization is looking to add an administrative assistant for a 1 year independent contract in Fort McMurray. This individual will provide administrative support to the mine operations team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist leaders with time and calendar management
  • Arrange meetings and assist with document preparation and communication for meetings
  • Address scheduling conflicts with clear and timely communication and advise of actions and deadlines in advance
  • Attend meetings as requested, take notes of action items and key messages and participate and provide support during meetings
  • Support leaders with expense management and booking travel arrangements
  • Exercise mature judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Administer LiveLink folders and the information request process
  • Liaise with the facilities helpdesk, meeting room services and other support groups to assist with the administration of information technology and meeting room equipment, office moves, etc.


Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years of administrative experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Office Administration is preferred


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP and Livelink experience is an asset
  • Ability to take initiative to follow through on pending items through strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Able to multi-task and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Outside Technical Sales Representative

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a work from home position in Northern Alberta or willing to travel to Northern Alberta frequently
The Outside Technical Sales Representative will promote and secure the sale of pump and gas compressor products within the assigned market sectors. Market sectors include Municipal Water and Wastewater, Fire Protection, Heavy and Light Industrial and Commercial with specific account focus on EPC's, engineering consultants, mechanical contractors, end user accounts and OEM's within the assigned territory of Edmonton or Northern Alberta.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, qualify and secure sales opportunities for the companies represented products, including the appropriate packaged systems, in the prescribed markets and territory.
  • Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with the decision-makers in the assigned markets including consultants, operator/maintenance and contractors.
  • Influence and assist in preparing technical specifications for the engineering consultants on represented products.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Regional Sales Managers for represented products.
  • Provide market intelligence to Inside Sales during quote preparation.
  • Follow up and close quotes issued by Inside Sales.
  • Update and maintain internal sales tracking system on a regular and frequent basis.
  • Develop and maintain project activity reports indicating status ( i.e. pre feasibility, budget, RFQ)
  • Assist in developing yearly sales forecasts.
  • Conduct product/process lunch and learn sessions to the appropriate engineering firms.
  • Work directly with represented manufacturers to obtain technical information, project pricing and special requirements.
  • Promote products at regional trade shows as required.
  • At least 3 years demonstrated ability to successfully sell the assigned products in this geographical area.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and influence buying decisions
  • Technical education and background, C.E.T preferred.
  • A thorough and demonstrated knowledge of the processes involved in the Oil & Gas market place (Conventional - upstream/midstream and SAGD)
  • Superior and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills required for technical documents review and comment.
  • Better than average computer skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Superior organizational skills - a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a busy team.

Reliability Engineer

Our client, a large oil & gas organization is looking to add a Reliability Engineer for a 12 month independent contract located in Fort McMurray.


Job Overview

  • Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you will work closely with the maintenance group to provide mechanical engineering, and equipment reliability support.


Key Responsibilites

  • Develop equipment strategies and preventive maintenance programs
  • Support failure, root cause, and incident investigations and develop recommendations and action plans to prevent reoccurrence
  • Participate in implementing reliability improvement initiatives in conjunction with the equipment asset multi-functional teams
  • Conduct reliability analysis to predict remaining service life and make recommendations for equipment change out or overhaul
  • Liaise with the vendors and original equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues
  • Employ equipment health monitoring tools to develop condition alarm thresholds, and technical operating envelops
  • Conduct event driven and predictive maintenance analysis;
  • Develop equipment and component health assessments, using maintenance history, condition monitoring tools and component hours;
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planning and Execution to optimize maintenance scheduling
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize fleet lifecycle;
  • Assess cost opportunities for fleet optimization;


Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Four or more years of experience in mobile mining or heavy equipment maintenance and reliability engineering. Any previous mining operations and LVF/Support experience is an asset
  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
  • Registered professional engineer (P.ENG) or eligable for registration
  • Possess a valid driver's license


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with a working knowledge of SAP
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing data, conducting root cause assessment and drawing and presenting conclusions and recommendations
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Geotechnical Engineer

Job Overview
You will lead the safe management of tailings ponds and other mine waste related facilities and structures at our base mine facility in Fort McMurray. You will be the point of contact and be in a critical position to support the geotechnical engineers of record.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand all conditions related to dams and mine waste related facilities and structures on site
  • Respond to dam safety incidents or concerns in the field and liaise with the various operating groups to handle field related issues
  • Liaise with government representatives during site inspections
  • Handle our work scope authorizations process for geotechnical control areas on structures
  • Lead the performance monitoring program that includes quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of instrumentation data, visual surveillance etc.
  • Lead the preparation and timely submission of regulatory reports: annual construction and performance reports, dam safety reviews and oil sands conservation regulations
  • Handle the preparation and updating of dam safety manuals
  • Coach and mentor the instrumentation and construction teams with regards to performance monitoring of the structures
  • Provide regular quality assurance dam safety reports that summarize the monthly instrumentation and construction to the EOR and site construction groups
  • Review contractor initiated turnover packages and act as a signing authority where applicable


Experience and Education:

  • Eight or more years of experience in large civil earthworks construction projects, which include: field construction, performance monitoring, construction quality assurance, inspection and testing and engineering dam design or dam safety reviews
  • Engineering degree in geotechnical, civil or a related field; master degree is preferred
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and a clean driving record


Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite; AutoCAD and MineScape are preferred
  • You are an effective communicator capable of understanding, anticipating and responding to the needs of mining engineering and operations groups
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
