Our client, a leading Oil & Gas owner/operator is looking to add a SAGD Facilities Engineer to their team. This is a 9 month independent contract based in downtown Calgary.

Position Summary

The Water Treatment Facilities Engineer will be part of the Contact Engineering team that use their skills to work closely with site operations to extract maximum value from the facilities while managing safety and risk.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plant optimization through programs applied across the facility
  • Daily operational process performance monitoring and troubleshooting

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Site Execution
  • Establish meeting cadence per project phase (Construction, Completions, Commissioning)
  • Progressively review turnover materials on behalf of C&C and/or Operations
  • Review walkdown packages prepared by Construction
  • Liaise with Contractor(s) to become acquainted with any additional CMS systems that are in use on the Project
  • Deliver post rollout CMS training to site based users
  • Act as site based CMS administrator
  • Manage ad-hoc checksheet/exhibit allocation or removal
  • Monitor and adjust preservation tasks as required
  • Manage tasks for field execution and assist Leads with work allocation (check-out/check-in)
  • Review and approve newly submitted punches in CMS (including categorization)
  • User account management (including requests to C&C central for additional users, if in excess of forecasted license quantity)
  • Upload Project Schedule data to the CMS and export progress data for upload to the schedule
  • Produce daily reports and provide data exports for weekly and monthly stewardship
  • Maintain database content to ensure that all engineering/scope changes are captured

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Trade / Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Project Turnover, Quality Assurance and Construction and Commissioning
  • Proficient understanding of front end database use and back end structure and development
  • Minimum 6 Years of direct relevant experience in Project Completions and Turnover
  • Must have minimum 3 years of CMS experience
  • Fully conversant with relevant engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of project execution, engineering, construction, completions & commissioning practices
  • Exposure to major oil companies practices, processes, and expectations with respect to systems completion, preservation, C&C, and start-up operations

Well Optimization Engineer

Our client, a large oil & gas organization is looking to add a Well Optimization Specialist to thier team for a 6 month independent contract in Fort McMurray. This is a fly in/fly out position with a rotation of 14 days on, 14 days off, (flights, camp etc. provided).

This individual will coordinate and execute start ups of new wells, SAGD gas lift, ESP and PCP systems, in doing so ensuring HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Well performance troubleshooting/optimization and issuing of daily well targets to CRO's (Control Room Operators)
  • Maintenance and optimization of ESP VFD parameters, utilizing engineering change processes where required
  • Assist production engineering with the development of strategies and implements them to optimize production and preserve well integrity
  • Attends weekly well operations review meetings with assigned well pad production engineers
  • Utilizes Issues/Opportunity management processes to kick off and execute well operations improvement projects
  • Attend pump tear-downs, participate of Root Cause Analysis processes and make recommendations for ESP design, installation and operation
  • Reviews well test data capture and verify accuracy for use in volume management system (production allocations)
  • Support production engineering with downhole maintenance budgeting and execution
  • Use influence with maintenance, operations and intervention crews to ensure the safe operation of well equipment


Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of SAGD project experience
  • Experience with Gas Lift, ESP and PCP operations
  • Thermal production operations experience is an asset
  • Experience with new well startups or production testing
  • Previous experience with artificial lift monitoring software packages is an asset

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas owner/operator organization is looking to add a Turnaround Logistics Coordinator to their team. This is a 9 month independent contract that will end in August or September of 2019 but may be extended for the 2020 Turnaround preparations. FIFO to Fort McMurray with a 10/4 Rotation (flights, camp provided).

Position Overview

This individual will liaise with various corporate and on-site departments to assure the strategic management of materials, rentals, flights and camp accommodations, temporary infrastructure facilities and associated maintenance. Working hand in hand with the site Senior Supervisor Camp and Site Logistics in the execution of their duties.

Key Responsibilities

* Play a lead role in the design and development of the temporary Turnaround Village and liaising with Site HSE representatives to ensure safety and emergency response requirements and effectiveness are integrated in the design
* Assist the Turnaround Planner in the ordering and storage of materials in liaising with SCM and warehouse
* Liaise with Supply Chain Management/Procurement in the follow up and expediting of ordered materials. Tracking of PO's and reporting on status to the T/A manager
* Liaise with Supply Chain Management to identify infrastructure and logistics service requirements and vendors. Lead the development of Scope of Work documents for RFP's and participate in selecting the appropriate vendors. Maximize the usage of vendors with existing contracts as much as possible
* Liaise with warehouse personnel to affect efficient materials bonding, kitting and kit distribution. Oversee and be current with the Turnaround materials laydown areas
* Liaise with Supply Chain Management in identifying, procuring and tracking needed equipment rentals. Coordinate with TA Planner and identify the specifications of the required rental equipment. Overlaying site plot plans with rental equipment locations and movements
* Liaise with site environmental personnel for waste management and disposal coordination
* Develop site plot plans to identify turnaround areas, restricted areas, the Turnaround village and camp areas as well as both vehicle and foot travel routes. Be responsible to communicate road and or other route closures.
* Work with Various Turnaround stakeholders in identifying their site requirements
* Manage the Turnaround Village housekeeping, water and sewage service providers and track their costs. Address any camp, dining room and catering concerns with the Senior Supervisor Camp and Site Logistics
* Lead small Turnaround infrastructure related projects. Lead progress meetings with various Turnaround infrastructure contractors
* Lead the tracking and reporting of various infrastructure related action items and initiatives
* Develop logistics budgets, manage costs and reporting
* Participate in Contractor Turnaround Kick Off meetings and outline expectations with regards to Camp and Travel bookings, restricted areas and travel routes
* Maintain Daily contractor on site personnel counts and report as required. Input to any evacuation logistical requirements should this become necessary due to Wild Fire or other emergency situations.

Key Requirements

* Post Secondary degree in Engineering or Supply Chain
* 5 years' experience working in Supply Chain Management
* 3 - 5 years' experience working in an operating site/facility
* Must be highly competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Experience with the SAP PM module is a must

Our client, a large Oil & Gas owner/operator organization is looking to add a Project Controls Analyst to their team. This is a 9 month independent contract based in downtown Calgary.

Reporting to the PMO Program Manager, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining the Integrated Project Plan, RAID, and other similar program controls. This will include analysis, progress monitoring and reporting etc. As a Project Controls Analyst you will interact daily with work stream leads either to obtain updates or provide project controls services as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the work streams to maintain the Integrated Project Plan & Milestones.
  • Working with the Program Manager and work stream leads, coordinate meetings to identify project & program risks and interdependencies, and baseline the Integrated Project Plan on a predetermined frequency. Baselining includes identifying changes to scope, schedule & cost and ensuring related approvals & documentation are in place before adjusting baselines.
  • Support the Program Manager by creating and maintaining the tools/templates & processes to track and manage resourcing, budgeting, scope, and schedule changes across the program.
  • Report potential variances to resourcing, scope, budget, and schedules to the PMO in a timely manner.
  • At the direction of the Program Manager, support risk & change management processes as required.
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of the Program RAID, including incorporating RAID items as they apply to program from work streams.

Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education.

Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain updates for reports from work stream leads, validate formatting, grammar, spelling and terminology, and consolidate reports as required for the PMO.
  • Manage Outlook project calendars, book meeting rooms, record and compile meeting minutes/decisions/actions, manage all logistics required for the meeting/workshop, including but not limited to creating/consolidating agendas & presentations and ensure meeting room technology is operational in a timely manner.
  • Follow up and ensure actions and decisions are carried through in a timely manner, and update documentation and/or the PMO accordingly.
  • Oversee central storage location for program and project documentation (meeting minutes, decision records, project artifacts, contracts, test documentation & signoffs, etc) and provide assistance to work streams in ensuring appropriate artifacts are completed for each stage gate/milestone.
  • Help prepare presentations and reports as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the PMO and work streams.
  • Process Contracts, Agreements and Purchase Orders according to company policies and procedures.
  • Create and update program organizational charts.
  • Provide on/off-boarding support to members in the program.
  • Provide communications/bulletins to PMO, stakeholders and work streams as required.
  • Arrange travel and prepare expense reports specific to the program.

Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years administrative experience required.

Our client, a leading Oil & Gas owner/operator organization is looking to add a Human Resources Coordinator to their team. This is a 3 month independent contract based here in downtown Calgary.

Reporting to the PMO Program Manager, you will be responsible to provide administrative and coordination support to the People Readiness team lead, provide support for tactical HR deliverables for the ST&O Transformation team etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings, training sessions, and workshops on behalf of the People Readiness Lead and HR COE leads with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), leaders, and/or employees and provide support to ensure rooms are set up appropriately for facilitators.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops with HR facilitators to capture detailed notes from the conversation and consolidate them in an organized format so that the HR facilitator can disseminate qualitative information quickly and translate to the business.
  • Take down actions agreed to in meetings or in workshops and consolidate the information for HR facilitators to summarize in emails, decks, etc. Complete follow-ups with participants and forward updates and questions to the HR facilitators to manage.
  • Coordinate the printing of plotter-sized slides/documents for facilitators to capture notes during working sessions and then consolidate the information back into slides for them.
  • Support the development of impactful materials and use a strong attention to detail to review them for consistency (e.g. presentation or training decks, communication plans).
  • Build relationships with the business and support the development of the foundational learning elements by obtaining inputs from SMEs as part of a needs assessment and design. Consolidate all relevant information for the Learning Advisor to expedite the work.
  • Follow up with HR leads on tasks/milestones on the People Readiness project plan that appear to be at risk of not being delivered. Demonstrate agility and a learning orientation by understanding how to step in and assist them in meeting the deliverable.
  • Partner with the Analyst(s) from the PMO to integrate the People Readiness project plan with the overall ST&O Transformation project plan to understand shared milestones.


Key Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of HR experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas/Energy sector.
  • HR experience in learning, competencies, or talent management an asset
  • Post Secondary degree, preferably with a major in Human Resources
  • CPHR candidate or CPHR designation an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain and enhance APC applications to improve the refinery's margins and ensure safe, reliable unit operation
  • Provide technical support and direction to operations working with the cross-functional team (CFT)
  • Participate in hazard analyses and Kepner-Tregoe (KT) problem solving sessions for an assigned zone
  • Provide front-line support for real-time optimization of the asset
  • Build strong positive relationships while coordinating with other disciplines to solve problems and make improvements to process units
  • Prepare stewardship reports and communicate APC performance on uptime and the quality of control performance
  • Ensure consistency of APC applications across our refinery
  • Provide leadership to alarm management improvement initiatives within your assigned complex



Requirements

  • Three or more years of APC experience with model-based control technologies (i.e. DMCplus, RMPC)
  • A Bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with a process control specialization or master's degree in chemical process control
  • A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record



Nice to Have

  • Relevant real-time optimization experience
  • A professional engineer, or eligible for professional engineer designation
  • Proven strong working knowledge of KT, DMCplus and RMPC tools
  • Knowledge and application of information technology, specifically real-time optimization
  • Highly motivated individual with continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical skills and decision-making capacity
  • You are a self-starter with demonstrated written, verbal, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Possess solid leadership, integrity and strong communication skills to interact with all levels of leadership

Technical Data Managment Assistant

Our client, a leading owner/operator Oil & Gas organization is looking to add a Technical Data Management Assistant to their team. This is 10 - 11 month independent contract, based in downtown Calgary.

Position Summary:

The main function of the Technical Assistant is to provide documentation support to the team. The individual will be reporting to a direct supervisor within Logistics and Surface Development. Providing technical and functional documentation expertise, this will require interaction with a broad range of employees and contractors. This role requires commitment, willingness to learn, professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain control procedures, engineering and technical documents / drawings, to received and issued
* Ensure proper naming conventions for the organization's documentation are correctly updated and document numbers are assigned.
* Perform quality check of technical documentation about numbering readability of file formats, verification / revision identification etc.
* Ensure effective and traceable flow of technical documentation between the different parties within vendors and project
* Perform other document related functions as agreed upon with document managers/coordinators
* Transmit drawings / document to the third party according to engineer(s) request
* Accelerate projects and technical tasks in collaboration with the Superintendent and Work Site Leads
* Understand, contribute and demonstrate the ability to implement business processes and procedures relative to the applicable stages of the asset lifecycle (scouting, survey, construction and abandonment)
* QA/QC with completion of project steps, processes and data management
* Working knowledge and data integration into numerous computer applications
* Multi-Task and prioritize various projects throughout different stages of the asset lifecycle to ensure timely progression and compliance with project schedules
* Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve and ensure projects and department performance targets are achieved
* Recognize and communicate project challenges and risks to ensure targets are successful
* Understand regulatory and environmental governances to ensure adherence throughout projects. Contribute to regulatory applications by providing precise regulatory and environmental information crucial to project considerations
* Thorough understanding of the ground disturbance package process and awareness of ground disturbance procedure
* Understanding and awareness of safety expectations and procedures
* Mentorship and training of new hires (Work Site Leads / Technical Assistants)
* Accelerate projects and technical tasks in collaboration with the Superintendent and Work Site Leads

Key Requirements:

* Experience providing administrative support in oilfield construction and/or reclamation
* Proficiency with Document Management Programs HDMS, MDSP, SharePoint
* Previous Data Management experience is highly valuable
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Post-Secondary Education in related discipline is an asset
* Experience in Pelaton Applications SiteView / WellView is an asset
* Experience in Spotfire is an asset

Environment and Regulatory Advisor

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage environmental programs and support the regulatory approval process for offshore production, drilling and exploration activities.
  • Support regulatory and corporate environmental reporting requirements
  • Evaluate and screen chemicals to be used on all offshore operated Facilities, including management of safety data sheets
  • Participate in the review of proposed environmental regulations, determine implications for operations and develop company responses.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with an oil and gas company as an Environmental Advisor in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Experience working in the marine environment and knowledge of offshore oil and gas environmental issues.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS 2015 and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory and corporate environmental reporting requirements would be an asset, including GHGs and NPRI.
  • Knowledge of the environmental assessment process.
