Description

This role is in the Integrity department at of a global mid stream business based in Toronto. The goal of the Integrity department is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of all of the company's gas-carrying assets. The role resides in the Integrity Data Assessment team in Integrity which focuses on risk modelling and assessment, data governance, and software administration for all types of assets in Integrity. This contract position will be dedicated to a multi-year integration project to amalgamate Legacy Union TIMP pipelines into the Pipeline Risk and Integrity Management (PRIM) software; the team is looking for a highly motivated and technically sound Engineering Analyst to perform the following duties:


* Conduct detailed checks of converted pipeline dataset to ensure they meet reporting standards and accurately reflect the pipeline specifications
* Review Engineering drawings, bill of materials, other company records to validate pipeline specifications
* Review and assess pipeline Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) records and digitize pertinent information using the PRIM software package.
* Create and manipulate GIS dataset using satellite imagery and basic tools in ESRI ArcMap software package
* Obtain a technical understanding of Integrity documents and processes to drive improvements to the data supporting Integrity and Risk assessments.

* Technology diploma or Engineering degree
* Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, engineering drawings, and as-built construction drawings
* Technically inclined with ability to understand and solve problems by formulating conclusions based on various data inputs
* A high level of attention to detail and capable of quickly and independently learning new processes
* Strong sense of organization and planning
* Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to self-learn new software platforms

* Previous experience in Records Management, Pipeline/Materials engineering, or Integrity
* Knowledge of internal policies and procedures
* Experience working with ESRI ArcMap or Google Earth
* Proficient in VB Script and SQL coding languages

Petroplan is currently accepting applications for a SCADA Engineer IV to join a well known Oil & Gas company. This position is contract and located in British Columbia office.

Prospective candidates will be responsible for monitoring pipeline automation and control systems, along with ultrasonic flowmeters, smart pressure transmitters, flow and temperature transmitters, smart pressure and level switches, and any other field instrumentation that is relevant to automated pipeline monitoring.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of industry experience

Process Safety Management Adviser

Position: Process Safety Management Advisor

Job type: 12-month Contract

Location: Fort St. John

Petroplan is currently working with a major midstream business who require an additional Safety Officer to join their Gas Gathering and Processing operations.

In this position, you will provide technical assistance to field personnel for the implementation Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures. You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Provide process safety subject matter expertise (SME), advice and recommendations as part of facilitation, participation in and/or review of process hazard analyses and risk analyses.
  • Support Operations Risk Management Process requirements at the operating area level, including risk identification facilitation, quality review, SME advice, and area risk reviews.
  • Provide advice regarding process safety considerations as part of management of change (MOC) and pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSRs).
  • Lead and participate in process safety related incident investigations.
  • Assess Process Safety Management Program standards and practices for alignment with regulatory, industry, and company requirements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical diploma or engineering degree in chemical engineering or safety discipline or related technical field with demonstrable experience in process safety management.
  • 4 or more years of experience in gas processing, pipeline, petrochemical or refining industries including experience working with field operations personnel.
  • Experience facilitating and participating in various forms of process safety analysis using standard techniques (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, bowtie).

Suitable candidates will be a driven, autonomous, self-motivated safety professional who is passionate and hungry to succeed.

Equipment Inventory Field Tech

This position will report to Calgary but will required extensive travel to the Edson, Grande Prairie and Rainbow Lake areas.


The schedule for this role is 10 on, 10 off with either 10 or 12 hours per day.

Location Allowance will be provided for travel done outside of the standard home location, for example, if located in Grande Prairie, LOA will be provided for the initial training in Calgary and for work done outside of the Grande Prairie area. If based in Calgary, LOA will only be provided for any time spent outside of Calgary.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete a full equipment inventory audit for Western Canada
  • Frequent field visits capturing equipment information and location
  • Validate current information within SAP
  • Capture details on any missing equipment
  • Lead the cleansing of master data from Standard development
  • Data mining job books, MDR's
  • Gather additional information based off inventory needs

Must haves:

  • At least 10 years operational and/or technical background within oil and gas operations
  • Knowledge and understanding of asset classes, characteristics and processes
  • SAP Plant Maintenance proficiency in relation to equipment inventory
  • A valid class 5 Drivers License and a clean drivers abstract
  • Proficiency within Microsoft office

Petroplan is actively recruiting for a Performance Standards Inspector on behalf of an international Midstream group on a long term contract basis.

LOCATION: Scarborough / Brampton / Markham

Responsibilities
- Responsible to Supervise the safety, integrity & cost effectiveness of plant installation, & the completion & accuracy of records
- Ensure plant installations are in compliance with all applicable codes & standards (internal & external)
- Accountable for the overall daily Operational performance of a JUT and or EA Field - Coordination of day to day activities related to Construction Projects including records, status reporting, and financial processes
- Recommend changes to Construction drawings/details to improve costs and installation efficiencies
- Monitoring and awareness of potential financial impacts due to on site scope of Construction Project changes or field related issues
- Ensure safety and pipeline integrity standards are complied with on Construction Projects and related activities

Specific Accountabilities
- Effectively manage the overall efficiency of the daily Operation within area of responsibility
- Responsible for day to day management of JUT and EA Contractors to ensure adherence to contract specifications and ensure stakeholder requirements are met
- Provide field assistance completing pick lines pre-inspections, inspection and environmental surveys and other technical support for/with Distribution Planning, Construction, O&M & Customer Connection and review all Construction drawings to ensure proper fittings/tie-ins are utilized, purge procedures and appropriate, line locations are workable, etc.
- Review, assess and process associated invoicing for all Project and Service related work.
- Oversight of projects to ensure safety, quality and conformance standards are present and maintained
- Complete QC reports on all inspected work and record results in EQMT
- Where shortfalls have been identified ( via QA/QC ) follow up with coaching and mentoring of Contractors
- Oversee the Construction of Major Projects
- Maintain good working relationship with all municipalities, internal & external customers and EA Contractors
- Resolve Customer/Municipalities/Utilities complaints and concerns and resolve in an appropriate & timely manner
- Coordinate work and or inspection of all Joint Trench work including day to day work assignments with the Joint Trench Contractors to meet builder and developer scheduling
- Review and Approve paperwork submitted by Company & Contractor Construction crews for payment, accuracy and timeliness of records submission (e.g. as-laid drawings, field notes, appurtenances, DPR's, cost plus extras)
- Supervise Company Construction Crews as required
- Utilize effective communication skills and relationship building to promote positive relationships with internal/external key stakeholders
