Petroplan are supporting a major Oil and Gas Operator in the search for a candidate to take up the role of Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer.

Day to day you will be supporting the rotating equipment maintenance team's objective in ensuring the reliability and availability of the critical rotating equipment fleet. Which includes GE LM2500's, Siemens RB211's, Solar Centaur 40's and Siemens SGT100'S, driving gas compressors and generators.

Analyse maintenance records to determine control and instrument failure rates, availability / reliability calculations, bad actor / failure modes identification, and program effectiveness / cost analysis

Candidate Desirables

  • Bachelor's degree from recognized university in Electrical, Automation, or Control and Instrumentation Engineering or demonstrate enough experience, capabilities and knowledge for the role if only technical diploma is held (Minimum 10 years' experience working in oil and gas or Energy Industry)
  • Must have strong background with LM2500's Gas Turbine controls, and CCC compressor controls
  • Must have strong background in Gas Turbine power generation controls

Description of Requirements

Experience

Time: Minimum 10 years within the petrochemical industry with at least 5 years spent inspecting new build and in-line pressure vessels. 5 Years post qualification experience in NDT techniques.

Specifics: Refining & treatment plant operations
Shutdown (TAR) campaigns
Supervision of NDT and inspection crews during TAR outages.
Oil & Gas pipeline fabrication and operation
Plant services and support
PSV operation and inspection in accordance with API guidelines
New build & in-line inspection of pressure containment vessels
Corrosion monitoring of on-line pipelines
Welding Inspection and acceptance
Working with Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
The implementation of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) systems

Qualifications

Vessels: CSWIP/ASME Plant Inspectors qualification to at least level 1
Certified to UKAS category 2 or its equivalent

NDT: CSWIP Certification Scheme for Weldment Inspection Personnel Level 2 standard or
PCN (Personal Certification Number) Level 2 standard or above for:
Ultrasonic's (Welds 3.1 & 3.2 minimum) plus two of the following three:
MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) All groups
DPI (Dye Penetrant Inspection) All groups
EC (Eddy Current) All groups
Schemes complying with either EN 473 or ISO 9712 will be considered. eg NORDTEST or APAVE

Skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety, Health and Environmental performance within the offshore Logistics operation
  • Coordinate safe and efficient marine and helicopter operations
  • Support vessel activities to include the timely arrival of required deck/ bulk cargos and provision of effective vessel stand-by support

Job Overview

This position will report into the Doc Management/Inventory Control Manager here in Calgary but will required extensive travel to the Edson, Grande Prairie and Rainbow Lake areas. The individual has to be comfortable with a rotation that requires 80% or more travel.

Job Overview

The primary responsibility will be to coach and mentor offshore teams in the use, administration, and compliance with, the organization and regulatory policies and procedures. This is a key role, supporting the frontline leadership program and ensuring operations are conducted in a safe manner. The Offshore Safety Advisor will promote safe working attitudes and practices, and participate in incident or near miss investigations. They will support the rig in implementing the rig safety program and assist in implementing improvements to the rig safety program.

Key Responsibilities

  • See to it that operational safety tools are used and optimized in everyday use on the rig.
  • Ensure that relevant rig procedures are continuously improved based on personal and on rig experience gained through the use of operational safety tools.
  • Assist in the review of reported incidents and investigations.
  • Describe and suggest improvements in deficiencies of the safety tools or the use of them.
  • Steward the organization's Frontline Leadership Program.
  • Report monthly statistics to the EH&S Analyst
  • Upload incident reports to Project Place and enter corrective actions into Enableon.

  • Verify once per month that deck scruppers are being regularly inspected and conduct a visual inspection of all accessible drain plugs once per week.
  • conduct regular inspections of the entire operation including the MODU and all support services.
  • Verify that the rig contractor's inspection records of H2S equipment is compliant at least once per month or in operations where H2S is expected.
  • Verify the rig contractor's health and hygiene inspection records at a minimum once per month
  • Undertake office work in certain or well defined issues when deemed necessary and directly connected with improvement of the operational safety.

The Project Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, delivery, maintenance and operational support of subsea production systems (SPS) and is the single face to the subsea equipment suppliers.
Umbilicals and Flexibles team is growing to deliver hardware and services for the ongoing Projects across all regions.
The role will hold ultimate responsibility for the delivery (specification, design, procurement, verification, manufacturing, validation) of all umbilicals and flexibles hardware and services for specified Projects within the portfolio. The role will ensure the deliveries are in line with HSSE requirements and quality standards and within project schedule and cost objectives.
  • Provide discipline engineering support for umbilical and flexible deliveries and interfaces with umbilicals and flexibles suppliers for specified Projects.
  • Integration and management of interfaces between the umbilicals and flexibles suppliers and project system engineering (EPMS), connection system supplier (SPS), installation contractor (EPIC), logistics contractor and Services team.
  • Demonstrate good safe work practices and be proactive in ensuring safe practices at all times including a strong influence role with suppliers.
  • Identify Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks and communicate as appropriate
  • Working internally to manage the supplier selection and award process for umbilicals and flexibles ensuring best value is achieved and contract is placed to meet project schedule requirements.
  • Support tender clarification/evaluation and contractor/vendor selection, ensuring all activities are in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
  • Review, comment, and approve design documentation, quality plans and other procedures as appropriate.
  • Budget management of contracts. Working with Project Services, responsible for accurate cost and schedule forecasting in support of in year quarterly updates and project lifecycle cost estimate updates.
  • Build strong working relationships with the key suppliers.
  • Identify and manage key engineering and delivery risks and provide input to project risk management and mitigation action plans.
  • Manage the interfaces between key stakeholders, including engineering contractors, installation contractors and suppliers.
  • Read, understand, implement, and reinforce use of Company's Management of Change process and manage any changes to the scope rigorously and in compliance with the project MOC process.
  • Assist in the performance of all project assurance activities, including the management of Design Verification Plans.
  • Support the collection and reporting of key performance data for umbilicals and flexibles product designs, manufacture and installation.
  • Working with the quality team, responsible for ensuring an appropriate verification plan is established for the deliveries to provide confidence in the product quality.
  • Part of a Global engineering and delivery team, sharing lessons and collaborating across Projects.

Engineering Lead
The Engineering Lead is responsible for design or design oversight of all mechanical equipment and systems required by the project they are assigned to. The Engineering Lead will work with the Facilities Project Engineering team.

Specific Accountabilities

* Collaborate with functional groups and stakeholders to define project scopes, budgets and schedules
* Contract management of Engineering Service Providers (ESPs); development of engineering Scopes of Work (SOW), review of engineering proposals and preparation of award recommendations, Earned Value Management (EVM) based on established Rules of Credit (ROC) and change management as required
* Coordinate and provide leadership to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) allocated to the project team to complete technical activities as required
* Monitors discipline specific deliverable quality and schedule
* Participate in project design including the review of engineering deliverables and attendance in design review meetings; HAZID, HAZOP and 3D Model Reviews
* Coordinate and support project contracts and procurement; assist in the development of the project procurement plan, preparation or review of RFQs, review of vendor/contractor proposals, prepare or review technical and commercial evaluations, prepare award recommendations and vendor/contractor management
* Collaborate with and support operations and construction to resolve operability and constructability issues during project planning and execution phases
* Collaborate with operations to coordinate outage and tie-in planning activities including the Management of Change (MOC) procedure
* Collaborate with Environmental, Lands, Legal and Regulatory to ensure required project permitting and filings are completed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:
* University degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
* Registered or eligible for immediate registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and British Colombia
* 10 years engineering experience
* Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of regulatory governances (federal and provincials), codes and standards (CSA, API, ASME, ASTM)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for non technical audience
* Basic computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing
* Willingness and ability to travel
* Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
* A demonstration of effective troubleshooting skills
* Experience working with multi-discipline project teams
* Experience working in an oversight and team lead role
* Good leadership and team building skills utilizing collaborative method

Job Overview

The position will report to the Environment and Regulatory Team Lead, and will provide environment, health and safety support to the organization's East Coast Operations. Programs that the individual will be involved in include environmental protection planning, chemical management and compliance monitoring.

- Evaluate and screen chemicals to be used on all offshore operated

process for offshore production, drilling and exploration activities.
