The main responsibilities of the Site Planner role are to support the Lead Project Planner in the development, follow-up and analysis of the Installation & Commissioning programme.


Experience:

  • Advanced level in English and French.
  • Proven significant experience in Planning positions of EPC projects.
  • Advanced level in Primavera P6.
  • Experience in Offshore Wind projects during Installation & Commissioning phases.
  • Understanding of a wide range of technical documents (drawings, specifications, etc.)
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective time management, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Degree qualified (Engineering's degree) or equivalent qualifications / experience.
  • Flexibility to travel to the different Project offices (Paris, London, etc.).

  • 10-15 year's relevant experience.

Job Responsabilities:

  • Become familiar with the Project Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
  • Carry out training on EDMS and Document Management processes, internally and externally
  • Co-ordinate and manage access and permission rights to the EDMS, in conjunction with Document Conrol Manager (DCM)
  • Provide support to the project teams on all Document Control matters
  • Attend Kick off Meetings with the External Providers
  • Maintaining the Package (Master Document Registers) MDRs
  • Monitor and issue (External Provider Document Register) SDRs to all External Providers
  • Documents are issued in a controlled manner via a Document Transmittal Notice (DTN)
  • Review Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents before being issued
  • Participate in Project meetings as necessary, in any location they may be held
  • Documents are managed according to the Project requirements
  • Manage documents via FTP sites for large documents (GIS data)
  • Liaise with departments to ensure all documentation issued to site and contractors is the latest revision
  • Ensuring hard copies (when required) and electronic copies of all previous revisions are available and uploaded on to the EDMS
  • Ensure archiving is undertaken in accordance with the Quality Management System
  • Manage and coordinate External Providers and the Project's Final Documentation with the assistance of the department heads

Petroplan is in search for a Planner / Scheduler in Calgary, AB.

This is a 1 year contract position.

At the senior level of the construction project management family the focus of this position is to take on increasingly challenging assignments that support project requirements, be able to work independently, and able to coordinate the management team for execution alignment.

The primary focus of the Project Scheduler is to develop, detail, expand and maintain project schedules for one or more projects managed by the department. The planning and schedule development will be done in conjunction with other stakeholders within the project teams.


Specific Accountabilities:
Provides logistics/scheduling related technical support and manages project schedules to assigned internal client groups for planning, procurement, development, construction and maintenance activities by:

  • Adhering to enterprise scheduling standards for development and implementation of schedules, ensures standards are current, e.g., Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Updating, revising and detailing for schedules as projects progress through development and execution stages, e.g., updating the schedules based on earned-value data from the Field Construction Analysts and other sources of construction tracking and reporting information
  • Assist with interpreting performance of scheduled activities and communicating issues to the Project Manager, e.g., analyzing the impacts that schedule updates will have on baseline plans, ensuring resource requirements for schedules are incorporated at planning stages and continuously developed through the project lifecycle,
  • Developing and managing schedule performance indicators
  • Providing technical advice related to scheduling/planning/logistics. Developing detailed "what-if" schedules as requested to communicate options to the project team, identifying critical path elements and associated logic driven options, etc.
  • Representing the department by providing advice and coordination of internal projects and associated external activities, e.g., customers, partners, consultants, etc.
  • Providing technical and business advice on the preparation and disposition of documents required for project completion, e.g., providing reports, schedules, updates and input as required regarding scheduling and planning for the projects.
  • Interface with the various stakeholders on the project team and other key stakeholders to receive the information required for accurate and timely critical-path management of the project schedules.
  • Ensuring cost and schedule integration across all project controls systems.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical college diploma or university degree in a related field
  • 7 - 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently as a senior logistics/scheduling professional
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload in a fast paced and dynamic environment and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Possess an aptitude for successfully building relationships with project staff, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expert level knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Experience with oil and gas construction projects

The Project Controls Coordinator (PCC) is responsible for development and implementation of project controls planning, integration of cost and schedule functions as well as quality control oversight of all project controls deliverables for Engineering and Construction capital projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate development of overall Project Execution Plan.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of project controls deliverables including but limited to:
  • Cost Report and Cost Variance Analysis, Cash Flow Report and Variance Analysis, Schedule Report and Schedule Variance Analysis, Project Change Management Procedure, Project Controls Plan
  • Monthly Progress Report Integrating Cost Control and Scheduling functions into one seamless team.
  • Defining Project Controls resource requirements for the project.
  • Performing quality control on all project control deliverables for completeness and accuracy. Lead role in coordinating collection of deliverables for Phase
  • Gate Review meetings according to the 6-Phase Project Lifecycle.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to project controls and project systems functional groups on actual experiences gained during implementation of new tools, processes or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, in another technical discipline or industry PCC specific related experience with a minimum of ten years of experience.
  • Professional Engineers Registration (P.E.) and/or Project Management Professional credential (PMP) is preferred
  • Ability to be effective within a matrix organizational structure;
  • Specific knowledge and experience in scheduling and cost process and issues related to pipeline and plant facility projects
  • Familiarity with best management practices for project scheduling and cost control
  • Ability to understand and implement processes and practices for project scheduling and cost control
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to work with a reasonable level of supervision
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office products; specifically Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server
