Joint Venture Asset Manager - Middle East - Oil & Gas - Owner / Operator
The primary role is to lead day-to-day interface with the Joint Venture, managing a team that is collectively responsible for governance and oversight of the assigned joint venture(s) (JV) in order to protect company interests in the JV, while optimizing value creation, and minimizing risk.
Roles & Responsibilities

  • Strategy, Planning, and Performance Management:
  • Work with Board Members to develop and drive internal alignment on asset-level strategy and set annual objectives for the joint venture.
  • Review in detail and recommend changes to, or approvals of, the JV's management proposed annual operating and capital plans, schedules, targets, and budgets, soliciting and integrating cross-functional feedback where appropriate
  • Prepare materials for, and analyses periodic and annual performance and strategic reviews of the JV, and implement actions arising from such reviews
  • Work with the Board Members to develop and drive internal alignment on key decisions and proposals requiring JV Board approval.
  • Actively monitor JV financial, operational, and risk performance to proactively identify gaps, and raise potential improvement opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Support the development and refresh of broader opportunity analyses related to the asset, including the identification of potential cross-asset synergies between the JV and other assets.
  • Prepare, negotiate (or assist in negotiating), and finalize commercial agreements with the JV and partner(s).
  • In coordination with the Board Members, resolve commercially-significant disputes, litigation, and mediation with the JV and partner(s).


Education & Qualifications

  • A bachelor degree in an engineering discipline, from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is desirable.
  • At least ten years relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

Duties and Responsibilities


Responsible for the development and execution of the Company's natural gas liquefaction (LNG) facility commissioning process. Lead and manage commissioning team(s) including the overall coordination of stakeholders throughout the commissioning phases of the liquefaction project. Oversee EPC contractor to ensure contracted commissioning related requirements have been met; to include testing, turnover and all systems are completed, handed over fully commissioned, ready to startup per requirement of the project.
* Work closely with construction staff, Owners Engineer(s), and operations staff to ensure EPC contractor fulfills contract requirements relative to the commissioning phase of the facility and that the smooth transfer and hand over of commissioned system to the startup team.
* Work with the EPC contractor to manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for commissioning and acceptance of the plant and turnover to the startup team for startup.
* Work with EPC contractor to develop and implement procedures to ensure the overall safety of the facility and its personnel. Reinforce awareness of safety and environmental incidents through frequent job observations by frequent site walk-downs and talking to personnel working on commissioning activities. Advances the health, safety, environmental and security procedures and protocol of the Owner to the EPC during the commissioning phase of the project.
* Create and manage commissioning schedule. Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors with regard to all commissioning activities.
* Input Owner's interests and requirements in the course of Project Execution Plan and commissioning procedure with reflection of O&M point of view.
* Coordinate with O&M organization to ensure alignment and integration of commissioning activities.
* Review and obtain necessary approval of all functional and performance test procedures.
* Ensure the proper receipt, review and approval of the necessary operational documentation such as system turnover procedures, standard operating / maintenance procedures, spare parts lists, punch lists and test reports.
* Ensure proper installation equipment packages based on commissioning procedures.
* Provide assistance in developing solutions to problems that may arise during commissioning.
* Assist with the resolution of problems that may occur during the startup and stable operations of the facility.
* Interface as necessary with all local agencies.
* Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Qualifications

Qualifications:


Education
* Bachelor's Degree Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent level of experience in related field Required


Experience:
* 10 LNG liquefaction experience required.


Skills and Abilities:
* Technical understanding of LNG liquefaction plants.
* Technical understanding of mole sieve dehydration and amine treating.
* Possesses good oral and written communication skills in English.
* Have legal and commercial sense for preparation and negotiation of contracts.
* Good understanding of EPC Lump Sum contracts.
* Ability to track and manage job costs.
* Is able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate and maintain the LNG liquefaction plants.
* Not essential but understands or has a working knowledge of project management, Primavera, database, spreadsheet, PowerPoint and word processing skills.
* Possesses good management, planning and organizational skills and meets work deadlines.
* Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers.


Licenses and Certifications:

* Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) Required
* Professional Engineering (PE) Preferred Area of Interest

Preferred candidated living in Fort McMurray.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to the business regarding short and long term maintenance activities and strategies
  • Manage on-site assessments of equipment issues and path forward
  • Participate in and facilitate failure analysis, root cause analysis and incident investigation teams
  • Support reliability improvements through technology
  • Provide exceptional mentorship and guidance to new hire employees in the EIT (Engineer in training) reliability groups and planning roles, as well as be a trusted resource for field technicians with limited shovel specialized training
  • Provide recommendations on regular stewardship asset reliability performance
  • Share your experience in condition based monitoring programs related to ultra-class equipment


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Must have electric shovels experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 20 years of in field working experience with shovels and ultra-class haul trucks
  • 20 years of in field experience working within either maintenance and reliability or a combination of both for large mining equipment
  • 15-20 years of mining experience
  • Knowledge of P&H and Komatsu equipment
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
  • A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record

Description

The business systems analyst (BSA) is responsible for supporting core system and business functions and maintaining user relationships. Key functions include delivering support to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives (this includes troubleshooting applications and software for assigned internal customers, such as accounting, risk, alliance, ethanol, natural gas, and other business units). The BSA is also responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house and commercial software applications, training programs and related courseware. The BSA must also be able to model and document key business processes, collaborate with end-users and technical staff to develop and maintain system functionality, and provide critical end-user support.

This role requires the ability to quickly identify, resolve and document problems; and use critical thinking and innovation to suggest improvements where applicable. A successful business systems analyst will be detail-oriented yet work efficiently, have the ability to multi-task and have strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual must be able to analyze complex problems and develop an intimate functional knowledge of company processes, system transactional data; while supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Create and deploy feedback mechanisms for end users. Analyze results, make recommendations for support process improvement, and implement changes.
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
  • Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.
  • Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.



Acquisition & Deployment

  • Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
  • Participate in the selection of any requirements documentation software solutions that the organization may opt to use.



Operational Management

  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop/server level, including installing and upgrading enterprise software and configuring systems and applications.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Where applicable, develop prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on the user requirements.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
  • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements- verbally or through written documentation - to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Provide guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.



Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • 2 years' experience in Information Technology or equivalent
  • 1 years' experience in biofuel and/or commodity trading operations



Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization's core business process and operations.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages including Microsoft SQL/Query Writing
  • Extensive experience with the Natural Gas organization's core software application (Allegro).
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including Microsoft Visio and Office.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing and business modeling.
