Job title: Senior Financial Accountant

Reporting to: Financial Controller

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 Prepare statutory accounts for UK legal entities using Thomson Reuters OneSource Accounts Production system
 Assist the Audit team for Group and Statutory Audit
 Advise on accounting treatment for extraordinary and non-routine business transactions
 Undertake ad-hoc projects
 Complete the quarterly and annual Office for National Statistics returns
 Perform and coordinate the timely submittal of the monthly financial statements to HFM
 Assist with Impairment Review
 Control the monthly balance sheet reconciliations process
 Complete the monthly P&L review and KPI report
 Complete the monthly Inter-company / RBL loan / debt cost transactions and revaluation
 Control Accounts Payable, Employee Expense and Fixed Asset functions
 Assist with annual tax computations
 Supervise, support and coach finance employees
 Monitor the weekly cash flow forecast


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
 Business Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
 Qualified accountant (ACA)
 Experience in a major international group
 Ability to use modelling tools and present outcomes simply and concisely
 Ability to use SAP (reports & workflow usage required)
 Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
 Highly numerate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
 Analytical
 Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
 Keen problem solver
 Team player
 Staff supervision

Our client, a leading public accounting firm, is looking to expand their Houston headquarters by bringing on an Audit Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work review, decision making and time budget management are essential parts of this important audit position
  • Execute day-to-day activities of audit engagements of various clients
  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient, serving as a liaison between clients and upper management
  • Supervise Senior Auditors, Staff Auditors and Interns on engagements
  • Judge the sustainability of expenditures to be incurred on an engagement, both by themselves and by those they supervise
  • All other duties assigned by senior managers or shareholders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 5 plus years audit experience in a public accounting firm
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions regarding accounting and auditing matters
  • Ability to perform and direct the broadest range of accounting tasks so that the direct participation of senior managers or partners is kept to a minimum

Our client is a publicly held midstream operator, who is looking to expand their Financial Reporting team by bringing on a Financial Reporting Analyst.

Financial Reporting Analyst Job Description:

  • This individual is responsible for various duties, such as: Financial Reporting/SEC Filing Preparation, executing and following appropriate accounting principles, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, FERC and other applicable regulatory policies and standards, and the analysis of current processes to develop and implement improved efficiencies and analytics as deemed necessary.
  • Responsible for obtaining, reviewing and compiling support for financial information within the periodic SEC filings and private-company reports.
  • Performing monthly reporting and accounting close duties for reporting function. Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior/lead accountants, accounting managers and other departments as necessary

Financial Reporting Analyst Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelors' Degree in either Accounting or a business related function
  • Must have previous Public Accounting experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have between 1-3 years of experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred

Job Title Senior Accountant

Reports to: Chief Accountant

Purpose

To record financial information in order to enable preparation of financial statements and all financial accounts in accordance with accounting principles and civil, fiscal and company norms. To identify assets and liabilities in line with the administrative/fiscal/statutory requirements thereby ensuring proper handling of accounts for nature and destination.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Review asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Review simple journal entries and have the ability to prepare complex journal entries along with synthesizing common ledger for subsidiary accounts.
  • Develop good knowledge of chart of accounts and ensure adherence thereto while recording financial information.
  • Review appropriateness and correctness of accruals in the books for each month end reporting including half year and annual reporting.
  • Ensure correctness of day to day accounting processes such as A/P and Journal Entries plus monthly closure of books & accounts.
  • Perform personnel accounting including but not limited to salaries posting, expense reports, expatriate insurance etc.
  • Run currency revaluations at each month end on SAP.
  • Highlight & Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Monitor working capital situation at fortnightly intervals and suggest appropriate actions to management where required to optimize cash flow operations.
  • Analyze vendor and GL account reconciliations on monthly basis including Intercompany account management and reconciliation.
  • Reconcile mainly Payroll & Other financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Maintain accounting & internal controls by ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and recommending improvements thereto
  • Guide accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
  • Check documents by monitoring and implementing all accounts payable checks including but not limited to contractual compliance checks in relation to approved contract values, tariffs, fees etc. for onward payment by Treasury function.
  • Post vendor invoices and ensure correctness of invoice register
  • Monitor aging of overdue invoices through bi-weekly reports
  • Ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Company & Finance Dept. policies and procedures
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Comply with international & local financial & legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training & workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Provide support during different audit activities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Accredited by a well-known Institute of Chartered Accountants
  • 3-4 years of experience in handling financial matters in a Big 4 Firm or in a well reputed global/multinational organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Admin. Professional/Master's Degree is preferred

Required Competencies

  • Strong Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and practices.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system and Hyperion.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Strong Analytical & Organizational Skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
