Elec/Mech Technician Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test, assemble, disassemble and perform visual inspection of electro-mechanical assemblies and analyzer equipment
  • Instrument metal tubing cutting, bending, and fitting in a system
  • System assembly and testing - electrical continuity and leak tests
  • Provide excellent customer service


Elec/Mech Technician Qualifications

  • 3 years of electrical and mechanical experience
  • Ability to read engineered drawings
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation principals

Electrical Design Engineer

My client is a leading provider of safety monitor devices and equipment that is used heavily within Refineries, Petrochemical, and Processing facilities. They have designed and engineered a line of intrinsically safe devices, along with a software platform that monitors a number of various data points with aim of making workplaces more safe, efficient, and productive. They are currently expanding their organization and looking to add a well-versed Electrical Engineer with experience around designing devices and equipment utilized in these types of facilities. Responsibilities

  • Designing and revising intrinsically safe (IS) PCBs while maintaining IS standards and customer requirements
  • Assist with new product development and sustaining projects
  • Create product testing and troubleshooting
  • Firmware coding (C )
  • Work alongside other areas of engineering and support the sales team
  • Work with customers including understanding customer needs, and presentations
  • Utilizing a variety of tools, including soldering irons and electrical/mechanical hand tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related
  • Years of work experience in lieu of degree would be acceptable
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficient with Altium or other similar PCB design software
  • Past experience to designing around Class 1, Div. 1 requirements

POSITION: E&I Supervisor
LOCATION: Field locations
SCHEDULE: 28/28 Rotation

Primary Responsibility:
Reporting to the Construction Manager the primary responsibility of the E&I Supervisor will be to supervise E&I activities onsite for the effective execution of Capital Facilities and OPEX Projects for the Business Unit.

Supervise EI & C construction scopes of work within contractual scope boundaries.

  • Work closely with and provide EI & C advice to the field based construction teams and associated contractors on site to ensure a concise understanding of all engineering packages, project specifications and standards.
  • Provide EI & C technical support to operations during the construction and commissioning phases to assist with the technical handover of the facilities and related equipment.
  • Sub-Contractor management including evaluating sub-contractor capabilities and assisting as applicable in the evaluation of contractor proposals and bids.
  • Interface with NDJ based contractor and sub-contractor Management as required to discuss and solve any misunderstandings and communicate expectations.
  • Develop or validate construction estimates for new implementation of EI & C scopes of work
  • Understand construction cost estimates (budget), contracts signed for the project, and report on construction performance.
  • Assist in ensuring the Quality Assurance System is implemented in accordance with company standards.
  • Liaise with the NDJ project team to provide feedback into ongoing design work to optimize designs with field design input.
  • Promote and drive the involvement of Construction in areas of EI & C design, scheduling, preliminary execution planning, and detailed construction planning and cost estimating.
  • Participate in the early development of the overall Construction Management execution strategies, working in consultation with the Business Unit.
  • Work closely with the project team as directed by the Construction Manager and attend Operability and Constructability reviews as required.
  • Drive consistency across the various operating centers with respect to project execution plans, project execution protocols and ensure consistency with respect to construction and engineering standards.

  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the overall construction organization and execution model through both leadership and development of common work practice.
  • In conjunction with the field O & M Planner, give guidance and assist the operations production and maintenance department teams (Electrical & Instrumentation/ Controls) with facilities readiness and planning of opportunity based maintenance activities, major events and campaign maintenance in conjunction with any plant inspection services required and if applicable, the process facilities engineer.

Essential Abilities


This position requires leadership, communication, organizational and management skills to lead and direct others to achieve project goals.

  • Demonstrated past experience working within Brownfield Projects
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 10 years oil and gas experience
  • Broad experience with sweet and sour gas/oil processing facilities and pipelines
  • Proficient with MS Office and project management software
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work with individuals from different nationalities
  • Previous experience in a EI & C supervisory role with proven track record
  • Demonstrate past experience interfacing with construction personnel to plan and execute project deliverables.
  • Team player with the ability to grow within a growing E&P Company
  • Ability to manage a scope of work and liaise successfully with contractors and nationals as needed
  • In depth knowledge of Commissioning and Completions Process from Construction through to Handover to Operations.
  • Minimum Qualifications Potential candidates interested in the E&I Supervisor's position MUST meet the following requirements:
  • Suitable EI & C, Ordinary degree/ HNC,ONC or National Equivalent, or relevant 10 years' experience in Oil and Gas (Preferably Onshore overseas)
  • Experience working in Africa (preferable)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Relevant work experience in Oil and Gas Upstream Industry

  • Will be responsible for LV Electrical detailed design of



a) DOL and Soft Starters for Induction Motors.
b) Protection controls for Power Distribution Switchgears, Motor and feeders.
c) LV Switchgears and sub-assembly components on Allen Bradley MCCs
d) Electrical Auto Cad drawings for Engineering design and construction.
e) Load flow and short circuit calculations,
f) Industrial Lighting
g) ATS transfer Switchgears and systems.
h) Switchgear control circuits for 3.3 KV MV switchgears.
i) Design calculations and equipment and components sizing/selection,
j) Distribution Transformers and power distribution switchgears, Cables and MCCs.
k) Design of HVAC chilled water systems, Package AC systems, Building pressurization systems for Oil and Gas Plants.
l) Support HVAC heat load calculations in Buildings.

  • Should be fully conversant with design for Hazardous classified Area, NEMA Standards Class 1, Div. 1/ Div. 2, NEC-500, IEEE and Shell standards.

  • Will prepare



a) Tender inquiry for Electrical material, constructional Scope of Work, installation commissioning of Electrical projects.
b) Material/equipment specifications, data sheets, Purchase/Material requisitions in Oracle.
c) Technical Bid Evaluations/recommendations

  • Review of documentation / drawings from external Consultant/Contractors

  • Will co-ordinate and support Contractors constructional works at site.

Field Service Engineer - Analyzer Instrumentation Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer training and phone support
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibration, and record testing and verification of all functions
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment
  • Pre-commissioning activities including system checkout, loop checks, and communication testing
  • Tests and tunes company product including machinery testing, control loop tuning and troubleshooting
  • Uses computerized equipment, test equipment, and software to perform testing functions
  • Manages assigned inventory for repairs to ensure accuracy and proper documentation for transfer before and after assigned service call

My client is a global manufacturer and servicer of analytical instrumentation and equipment that are utilized in a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to petrochemical, refinery, environmental, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical. They are currently looking to bring on board a well-versed Field Service Engineer with experience in this space. I have listed the following responsibilities and requirements for this role. Job Description:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, both in-house, as well as in the field
  • Troubleshooting problems on equipment

  • Provide training and support on equipment to customers
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Interact daily with customers
