Job Overview - LET Structural Field Engineer/Technician
Reporting to the LET Construction Lead, you will be responsible for oversight of the installation of structural hull stiffening and miscellaneous tertiary steel during the dry dock phase
Key Accountabilities
? Liaise for completion of engineering design packages for structural scopes. ? Provide guidance to contractor on structural scopes of work when required. ? Ensure project specifications and requirements are maintained throughout project execution. ? Provide oversight on structural as building. ? Review and mechanical completion signoff of structural scopes. ? Perform warehouse verification of fabricated items and coordinate marshalling with Supply Chain
Required Qualifications
Experience and Education:
? Civil/Structural drafting/design background with 10 years offshore industry experience; ? Minimum naval architecture or civil engineering diploma (or equivalent); ? Experience with MS Office tools and AutoCad; ? Experience working in an offshore and marine fabrication environment; ? Experience with mechanical completions systems would be an asset.

Skills and Knowledge:
? Marine/dry dock construction experience; ? Detailed knowledge of Terra Nova FPSO would be an asset; ? Hands on multi discipline construction knowledge and strong sense of ownership; ? Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment; ? Ability to monitor progress and manage change orders to ensure project budget and schedule; ? Demonstrated ability to lead multiple and changing priorities under tight deadlines with strong decision-making skills.
Working Conditions
? Work is initially office based for approximately 5 months, 40 hour work week ? Followed by approximately 4 months of field construction while in dry dock (Spain).

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

  • Degree in electrical engineering or related subject, ideally with professional qualifications (CEng)
  • 5 - 10 years post qualification experience defined by:
    • Preparing and implementing electrical and instrument/control system designs for the oil and gas or process industries
    • Working in multi-disciplined engineering teams in a design house or operator engineering/project management environment.
    • Discipline lead or project engineer directing and managing the activities of a small team
    • Preparation of budget estimates and plans, tracking and controlling costs and progress
    • Design and project experience through all phases of the project life cycle (from concept development, though detailed design to commissioning and operational handover) including modification projects for operational sites
    • Preparation of test acceptance procedures and participation in factory and site testing
    • Site experience, planning and executing installation and commissioning works
    • Good understanding of electrical and process safety requirements for the process industries
    • Managing outsourced activities e.g. engineering design; maintenance

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a smaller, rapidly expanding subsidiary of a FTSE 100 listed organisation based in Central London, that currently has assets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.

This is a diverse role and you will need to have the confidence to run with various projects and deal with senior individuals (CFO and equivalent level). The role sits within a small, newly formed team, and will work closely with another Controller, and will be diverse with new challenges daily. You must be a self-starter, hard-working and able to embrace challenges as and when they arise, with limited support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of internal management reports as well as preparation of board reporting packs
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements and monthly reports
  • Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of various parent/'holdco' companies
  • Liaising with local Managers at the Assets
  • Identifying areas for improvement in the control environment across the group, and assisting in implementing changes to address these
  • Taking control of issues as and when they arise and seeing them through to resolution
  • Managing annual budgeting process across the group
  • Assist in co-ordinating audit process for group accounts as well as certain holdco companies
  • Transfer pricing studies, analysis and documentation

Education, Qualification and Experience Required

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with min 5 years PQE
  • Strong technical accounting background - Consolidations a must;
  • Commercial acumen relating to financial analysis;
  • Big 4 articles desirable;
  • As the Assets are Global, Strong Tax knowledge would be advantageous
  • Proficient in Excel and Basic Accounting Packages (SAP; Hyperion);
  • Experience in preparation of consolidated financial statements and managing audits.
  • Must have strong excel with experience preparing and consolidating financial statements
  • Strong academics
  • SAP as well as HFM or Hyperion systems experience desirable
  • Proactive, hardworking, highly organised and self-motivated
  • Someone good on detail but also can see the "big picture"
