Pipeline Corrosion Engineer

Petroplan are assisting a world leader in hydrocarbons exploration, production, refining and distribution in their search for Pipeline Corrosion Engineer to be based in one of their offices in Dammam.

Key Duties

  • Develop, implement and maintain Corrosion Management Plans (CMP) for the pipelines as per Saudi Aramco standards, including design of scraping, chemical injection and corrosion monitoring programs.
  • Carry out failure investigation and fitness for service evaluations for the pipelines failures typically involving corrosion, erosion, vibration, impact, stress and welding/manufacturing/coating defect failure modes and provide recommendations to prevent failures and improve integrity of the pipelines.
  • Provide technical support for materials and coatings selection based on the international and Saudi Aramco standards.

Ideal candidate

  • The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in materials, metallurgical or chemical (or other relevant discipline) with a focus on corrosion.
  • NACE Corrosion Technologist or NACE Internal Corrosion Technologist certification. Any other NACE Senior and Specialist-level certifications would be an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Working knowledge of internal and external corrosion mechanisms common to upstream oil and gas industry and its corresponding corrosion management such as In-Line inspection and Scraping.

Day to Day Operations:
  • Identify, select and design electrical system / equipment for projects as required.
  • Perform verification of, but not limited to: electrical drawings, cable schedules, termination drawings, equipment layout, fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews and take necessary follow up actions with relevant bodies.
  • Carry out technical review quotations provided by the Project Manager or New Building Estimation and make recommendations on the technical suitability of each.
  • Liaise with other trades and project managers / invoices / estimators.
  • Follow up with trades and carry out inspections during vessel construction.

Education:

  • 5 years experience in a Shipyard Environment
  • 2 years experience working in Design Office
  • Reading and understanding electrical drawings and symbols.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present work related information to their immediate supervisor and subordinates as necessary
  • Experience in marine instrumentation and control systems.
  • Knowledgeable in power generation and distribution.

Ideal candidate

  • 15 years' experience working in the Corrosion Engineering Field (including 5 years as a technical engineer)
  • Recognised understanding of ASME, ASCE, ASTM, API, NACE, SEI codes

Purpose:

As part of the project finance team:

1. Lead financing for the assigned projects in Africa

2. Conduct financial assessment of potential opportunities in Africa

3. Assist in financial / commercial due diligence and structuring of investment opportunities in Africa

Support the financing for projects

Build knowledge of market trends and lender appetites for relevant project types and locations

Lead market sounding and debt raising processes in respect of projects pursued

Provide project finance support on ongoing basis, at various stages of the project development, until financial close

Lead negotiations and execution of the financing agreements as part of the PF team

Be the focal point of contacts for lenders for all topics related to the completion of their due diligence

Nurture and build relationships with lenders, insurance providers, DFIs and IFIs, multilateral and bi-lateral institutions and other developers

Undertake the necessary due diligence, financial modeling and risk analysis for current and prospective projects

Provide financial modeling and analytical support for discussions with various stakeholders: Internal (e.g. work streams, Executive Management Team); and External (e.g. co-developers/shareholders and Lenders).

Assess and structure project development/ investment opportunities

For new opportunities, assess project structures and documentation from both an investment perspective and a Project Finance lending perspective

For projects pursued, assist in structuring deal and documentation to satisfy investors and Project Finance lenders

Assist in origination of deals where possible

Contribute to risk analysis of prospective and current projects

Identify gaps in compliance with required covenants guidelines, policies and procedures

Reservoir Engineer: Ultra Tight/Tight Sand

As a successful candidate, you will have a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related science as appropriate to the required discipline. An advanced degree is preferred, and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below, by one year for a master degree, and two years for a Ph.D. degree.

You will have 15-20 years of experience, with at least 5-10 years in unconventional plays, including shale or tight gas/condensate or channel reservoirs, with international experience in unconventional hydrocarbon basins required.

You should have experience, or a good understanding, of stimulation program design, open hole and cased hole logging capabilities, well test analysis (pressure transient analysis and rate transient analysis), decline curve analysis, dynamic reservoir modeling, reserves classification, EUR predictions, and well spacing optimization, as you will be required to support key development decisions.

Knowledge of the following applications is required: IHS Harmony, Kappa Workstation Suite (Saphir, Topaze minimum), GOHFER (DFIT Analysis), Petroleum Expert, CMG, Peep, OFM, MOSAIC, PVTsim NOVA, and EOS modeling is preferred.

You must have demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle some ambiguity in analysis.

You must have solid organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with limited data.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You must have the ability to generate management reports.

You must have strong computer skills and data analysis experience, preferably with Spotfire or OFM.

You should have good business planning acumen (economic analysis/project management).

Be familiar with field development/economic concepts with a broad knowledge in drilling, completions, and reservoir stimulation technologies, with an understanding of horizontal multistage fracturing for unconventional reservoir.

Position Description We are seeking a Reliability Engineer specialized in rotating equipment to the join South Ghawar Gas Producing Engineering Division (SGGPED), under the South Ghawar Gas Producing Department (SGGPD).

The organization handles all rotating equipment-related issues associated with gas producing facilities, including Gas Compression Plants.

The engineer is expected to lead and monitor the efforts in troubleshooting and determining the root causes of failures for several types of rotating equipment such as gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, etc. In addition, the engineer is expected to have full knowledge and experience in analyzing and diagnosing machinery vibration and in reliability practices (predictive maintenance, lubrication, etc).
Minimum Requirements The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry operating facilities.

Ability to develop design packages and conduct studies related to rotating equipment.

Ability to propose and deploy reliability improvement technologies/solutions and innovative ideas.

Must have Fundamental Engineering (FE) and recommended to have a Professional Engineer (PE) status.

Knowledge of international standards and best practices such as API, ASME, ANSI, etc.

Preferred to have membership of internationally recognized technical societies.

Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in rotating equipment design, maintenance, assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, and optimization, troubleshooting, producing detailed reports, and developing sound technical evaluations.

Knowledge of rotating equipment shop and field repairs/maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities You are expected to be able to perform the following:

Provide day-to-day technical support to operations and maintenance to troubleshoot rotating equipment-related issues.

Develop, evaluate, and review rotating equipment engineering design for reliability enhancements and required modifications/upgrades.

Develop and maintain the reliability reports for rotating equipment.

Review the equipment historical data and conducting reliability studies.

Develop and review rotating equipment design packages.
