Compensation and Benefits Specialist

Key Result Areas:

  • Responsible for generating all Compensation and Benefits reports for the HR department and Department Managers. These reports include, but are not limited to: Sick Leave, Vacation Reports, Allowance Reports, Monthly Business Reports (MBR), Demographic Reports, Overtime Reports, Long Service Reports, Quarterly Management Reports and Corporate Governance Reports.
  • Responsible for the data entry of timely and accurate Compensation and Benefits data in Oracle and various HR systems. Ensure all elements comply with company policy.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Organisational Structure and Position Hierarchy in the HR system.
  • Prepare new recruitment Compensation benchmarks (both Employees and Day Rate Contractors) in line with market data and the Company strategy.
  • Prepare End of Service Benefit calculations and statements. Coordinate with Finance and other concerned departments. Ensure final settlement payments are made to employee after recovery of outstanding loans and required exit formalities. Transfer payments to the banks in the case of Salary Transfer Letters. Coordinate with Finance and the HR Executive Assistant to ensure a seamless process in line with company policy.
  • Assist with the processing of the monthly payroll for both Staff employees and Contractors accurately and in line with company policies and procedures, including loading of reimbursements and deductions to employee salaries. As well as generate payroll reports.


Job Related Competencies

  • 5 years of HR or Compensation and Benefits experience.
  • Working experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably Oracle.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; including Expert knowledge and understanding of MS Excel. Must demonstrate the ability to manipulate spreadsheets with complex data and generate reports from advanced MS Excel functions including complex formulas, pivot tables, vlookup and hlookup.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Positive and enthusiastic team player who is results driven.
  • Ability to multitask and balance priorities and multiple tasks.
  • Safeguard and protect the confidentiality of sensitive HR data at all times.

Junior HR Business Partner

The position has the following areas of responsibility:

  • Provide day-to-day HR business partner support to the Business Units in the UK, thus formal support in all HR matters as required by the Regional HR Manager and identified hosted HR departments. The support can range from talent sourcing, contracting and on-boarding to organisational development, change management, talent and performance management and employee relations.
  • Manage and Optimise the UK HR Administration activities and systems like employee record systems, SAP and Business Warehouse employee data maintenance, leave administration, HR Policy reviews and interpretations, job description updates and record.
  • Support the HR Manager with regard to the International Assignments (Mobility), e.g. by overseeing and handling employee inquiries
  • Act as an independent back-up for UK's payroll activities, as required by planned and unexpected absence of the UK Payroll Specialist, and in support to this position, e.g. in the annual Rewards cycle


Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

  • Preferred: Degree or equivalent, and UK CIPD certified or working towards this
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in HR Business Partner or similar roles and processes
  • 5 years' experience in administration and proficiency information systems use, specifically using automated platforms, such as SAP, Business Warehouse, etc.
  • Sufficient awareness/competence of payroll process to be trained as back-up for the UK Payroll Specialist
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with various interfaces to Centre of Practices, regional specialists, hosted HR, etc.
  • Ability to work with diverse client Business Units
