Petroplan is currently recruiting on behalf of a well known Oil & Gas company in the Houston area in need of a Senior Compensation Analyst to join their team. This is a direct hire position and competitive compensation. Prospective candidates will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of compensation programs for the organization. Along with conducting market analysis to research trends and compensation initiatives in the energy sector and provide recommendations/solutions as well as administrator systems that support these programs.
Job Duties:

  • Participant in both formal and informal compensation surveys, and analyze data from survey sources to determine competitiveness both internally and externally
  • Research and assess market prevalence and trends regarding variable pay program designs and targets
  • Demonstrate understanding of the requirements/data elements to create reports which streamline and support compensation programs
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for internal controls.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance, HR or related Degree)
  • 5-7 years of previous experience as compensation analyst
  • Knowledge of Long Term Incentives
  • Knowledge of different HR Databases (Cognos, HRIS etc.)
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and familiar using MS Access.

The HR E&P Advisor is based in London reporting directly to the HR Manager - Oil Assets, and will work alongside another HR E&P Business Partner sharing responsibilities and collaborating on key projects. The successful candidate will have full HR generalist oversight for the company Exploration and Production (E&P) business unit whose operations are coordinated via London but whose operation presence is on the ground in the Republic of Chad, Central Africa. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the E&P business unit has access to a capable and responsive HR resource who will support the day to day operational HR needs. The HR Advisor will have access to general HR support from the wider HR team, especially in areas such as employee relations and compensation and benefits but will be expected to take ownership of recruitment initiatives, ongoing record keeping, systems data and E&P specific contractor / consultancy agreements. Various complexities exist in the form of different employing entities, contract agreements, payrolls and locations. A meticulous eye for detail is essential. Travel to the Republic of Chad, Central Africa will be required.

Key Responsibilities
Staffing/ Resourcing

  • Manages the London E&P staff client & acts as the point of contact for the E&P business unit to understand, provide advice and facilitate HR related requests at all levels, building relationships with the business cross-functionally.
  • Works with the business unit to support workforce planning and recruitment, which includes the full resourcing and onboarding lifecycle.
  • Negotiates with resourcing suppliers for preferable terms and rates, managing the process for hiring new staff in London and the wider business unit.
  • Manages the arrangements in place for Expat staff in Chad, including maintaining accurate records, understanding the payroll set up and ongoing contract and administration for headcount changes.
  • Manages the arrangements in place for National / Local staff in Chad, including maintaining accurate records, understanding the payroll set up and ongoing contract and administration headcount changes.
  • Maintains accurate records, using HRIS and / or MS Excel with latest staffing information to ensure details for the business unit is up to date.


Contracts

  • Ensures all current contract documentation is logged, available and managed in accordance with Company's processes for storing data.
  • Ensures that all contractual processes and decisions are in accordance with requirements, are transparent and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Works closely with all stakeholders to ensure contracting processes are implemented to meet business requirements.
  • Works with the Contracts and Procurement team to maintain, update and report on a database of Master Consultancy Agreements (MCAs), likely using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.


Budget / Forecasting

  • Works with the London Finance and Contracts and Procurement teams to ensure accurate records are kept for the purpose of budgeting and forecasting.


Visas / Work Permits

  • Works with the business unit, travel coordinator and secretarial staff to oversee the visa / work permit process for transfers to / from different business units.


General

  • Works with the wider HR team on the development and implementation of HR policies and projects and assists in delivering change management activities within the initiatives.
  • Contributes to a process of continuous improvement in the HR team.
  • Challenges the organisational structure/HR related processes of the business unit where appropriate.

Internal: London HR team, HR teams in the business units, Senior Management, IT, E&P Technical, Legal and contracts and procurement.
External: Resourcing partners; JV Partner(s); Industry Peers; Service Contractors; Company auditors, lawyers.

RELEVANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level as a minimum requirement
  • CIPD qualified
  • French language ability (reading, speaking and writing) will be an advantage
  • Cultural awareness of West African countries and working styles is desirable but not a pre-requisite
  • Previous experience of working in an E&P environment would be advantageous
  • Proactive, willing approach
  • High standard of spoken / written English
  • Exemplar organizational / planning skills and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Enterprising, proactive and results oriented person who can also work as part of a team
  • Leadership capabilities and organizational management experience
  • Proven ability to negotiate and able to balance listening and advocacy skills

The role will report into the Global HR Manager and will provide administrative support for our UK and other international offices. This is a perfect role for someone who wants to start a career in HR, there will be exposure to a variety of HR processes which this person can be involved with.


You will have responsibility for:

  • Producing all standard correspondence for employees
  • Ensuring the HR system is up to date and accurate at all times
  • Recording staff sickness
  • Assisting with on-boarding and off-boarding of employees
  • Supporting the HR Manager in organising training courses
  • Drafting company-wide communication documents
  • Managing the HR email account
  • Responding to reference requests for past employees


Key attributes - you will:

  • ideally have some experience in an administrative role
  • have an excellent eye for detail, good proof reading skills and presentation and overall high work standards
  • have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise effectively

Senior Contracts Engineer

  • Develop the required Contracts by Company from initial phases up to award and signing of the Contracts by the parties.
  • Administers all the applicable Contracts (FEED, EPC, PMC and other Contracts) for the Project. Supervises and guides the Project Management Consultants engaged by Company in handling the contractual and commercial matters of the Project.
  • Acquires full knowledge and understanding of Company's policies, procedures and delegation of authorities, Contracts terms and conditions and liaises with the Company lawyers, as required.
  • Ensures that the relevant local and international regulations are followed by all the Contractors and Vendors.
  • Prevents and mitigates potential Contractor claims. Develops and implements work processes and procedures to address the risks posed by Contractor claims. Assures the timely involvement of all the discipline staff of the Project and Company lawyer and other relevant staff during the project execution and claims handling as required.
  • Seeks management guidelines in conducting duties and supports Contracts and Procurement Manager on all contractual and commercial issues to protect Company's interests.
  • Be in a state of readiness for any internal and external audit Programs Company may initiate at any stage of the Project.
  • Review the Project Procedures relevant to Contract development and administration function (e.g. Tender clarification, Variation Order etc. procedures). Follow up with Contractor until procedures are compliant with Project Requirements and are approved for use on the Project.
  • Obtain prior financial approvals for all commitments as required under the approved Financial Delegation of Authority.
  • Highlight any matters that will adversely affect the cost and schedule of the Project programme.
  • Liaise closely with the Company management at all stages on all aspects of procedures and activities to ensure that Company obligations and requirements are satisfactorily met on a continuing basis.
  • Interface between all stakeholders including Company Worldwide Departments to ensure that the Project needs are met in a correct and timely manner.

  1. Typically requires a minimum of 8 -10 years of related experience, working for Contractors or Owner Organization in the Contract Development and Administration function.
  2. Must have worked in the Contract Administration Function on at least one major Oil & Gas Project preferably executed on a Lump Sum basis.
  3. Interfaces skilfully and with all concerned including internal and external personnel dealing directly or indirectly with the Project

In this position, you will report directly into the Head of Operations and function as the lead for facilities engineering. You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Liaises with geo-scientists/reservoir engineers/asset team members to develop details / objectives for projects
  • Develops project plans, budgets and schedules to manage capital projects
  • Performs economic evaluation; develops and reviews cost estimates / project economics; prepares AFEs
  • Prepares technical specifications, evaluates bids, and prepares integrated plan; specifies parameters for critical stages
  • Oversees all facilities modifications and provides on-site leadership during critical operations

You must have at least 8 years of experience, including 3 years' experience in oil and gas operations working as a facilities Engineer.
