Petroplan is currently hiring for a Curriculum Designer for a major Oil and Gas Company in Houston, TX with relocation to Saudi Arabia.
The curriculum designer's primary role is to design a curriculum in the areas of leadership, management, and supervisory. This includes most aspects of the human resources development (HRD) function, such as needs assessment, research, design of training sources, instruction, piloting, and evaluation.
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human resources discipline. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in the design of leadership, management, and supervisory curriculum in a corporate environment
  • Deliver training programs focused on leadership, management, and professional development if needed.
  • Experience in designing curriculum, preparing a learning classroom environment, and conducting training.
  • Experience as a curriculum designer of leadership, management, and supervisory workshops and as a workshop facilitator delivering leadership, management, and supervisory knowledge and skill.
  • Develop and maintain relationships at different levels within the organization.
  • Prepare training manuals and materials as well as conduct and evaluate courses.

Petroplan is seeking a Management and Professional Trainer to join the Leadership Development Division (LDD) of the Management and Professional Development Department (M&PDD) for a major Oil and Gas Company in Houston, TX- to work overseas in Saudi Arabia.

The Management and Professional Trainer's primary role is to serve as a facilitator to managers, supervisors, and professional employees in the area of leadership, management, and supervisory training with primary responsibility for conducting higher level management training courses and other training experiences. This includes most aspects of the Human Resource Development function, such as needs assessment, research, design of training sources, instruction, piloting, and evaluation.


Minimum Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in a human resource discipline. A master's degree is preferred.

Job Scope
Location: this is a monday- friday job based in Fox Creek no FIFO


  • Champion safe, and cost-effective preventative and loss management approaches in day-to-day pipeline and plant operations to minimize potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, standards, procedures, practices, etc.;

  • Work collaboratively with Operations management and staff to build a strong safety culture;

  • Conduct and/or review hazard assessments for higher-risk activities such as confined space entry and on construction projects. Provide on-site Safety and Emergency Management (SEM) assistance and ensure appropriate controls and resources are in place;

  • Assist in review, development and documentation of field procedures to ensure the clients operational activities meet regulatory and corporate requirements. Provide field reviews and task evaluations to verify procedures are implemented as required;

  • Perform or participate in various internal and/or external audits and reviews, including, but not limited to, ground disturbance, lockout-tagout, Certification of Recognition (COR), emergency management, Canadian Nuclear Safety commission, safety culture, etc.

  • Participate actively in area safety meetings and provide regular presentations on "Key SEM Topics". Follow up on the safety-related items identified at the meetings;

  • Review and assist with incident investigations, reporting and follow up to prevent recurrence;

  • Coordinate updates and development of SEM Standards and Learnings from Incidents;

  • Assist in the review, development and documentation of procedures and task analyses to ensure construction, maintenance and operational activities meet client and regulatory requirements;

  • Work with Project Managers to help establish and execute SEM project inspection requirements and activities. Liaise with third party project Safety inspectors and provide periodic SEM project oversight;

  • Review and assist with incident investigations, reporting and follow up;

  • Serve as the field SEM liaison for internal or external parties requiring field information or activities.



Qualifications
This position requires a background of safety expertise and/or extensive gas plant operations and/or maintenance experience


  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Safety related discipline within Gas Plant facilities.

  • Designation or completion of one of the following is an asset:

    • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (Canadian designation);

    • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate(s);

    • Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Technical Certificates;

  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry safety requirements, standards, policies and procedures including those of OH&S, AER, NEB, OGC and CSA;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including an ability to interface positively with the field, and project personnel;

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and demonstrated aptitude working with other business related computer programs and applications;

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

The Job

  • Owning the development and implementation of a comprehensive regional category management strategy and the development of commercial agreements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value that will drive competitive advantage and meet the organization's governance requirements;
  • Executing those category plans. This will include leading key or complex sourcing projects and ongoing management of contracts and supplier relationships;
  • Consolidating internal regional data collection of current internal customers' supply and consumption trends that will be the basis for category strategy development and related sourcing programs;
  • Contribute to a rigorous fact base on external dynamics that will be basis of the category strategy and sourcing program, specifically through market analysis. Systematizing the analytical process through developing and maintaining customized supplier databases and risk management tools;

1) Technically Skilled/Capabilities to Maintain quality in Risk Assessment, Facilitation, Communication, and Mitigation Plan Development to support the facility operation. Skilled with RAP sheets or Database process for risk capture and tracking.

  • Becomes a single point for training in Risk Skills and brings this directly to the facilities.
  • Supports the prioritization of facility resources in risk reduction activities.
  • Prioritize the Facility Hazard Parking Lot
  • Facilitate HRRs for each facility - create consistency, mentor plant engineers to develop risk assessment facilitation skills, share learnings throughout field in the process
  • Facilitate L2RA's when large production impacts associated - develop consistency, provide calibration for leaders making decisions
  • Develop TOR for more detailed risk assessments
  • Communicate risk assessment results
  • Support mitigation plan development

2) Supports the cross functional integration of risk assessments. For example Pipeline risks are owned by operations, with support from CIC and Resource, with compliance implications. Facility Process Safety Engineer would understand the cross functional relations within risk action plans and ensure critical activities are prioritized and budgeted by operations.

3) Support closure of S&O Audit findings related to Process Safety and Risk.

4) Facilitate the risk register development and communication of risk KPIs. Demonstration of Continuous Risk Reduction. (Yet to truly be developed).

5) Improve the rigor and quality associated with the process safety activities.

6) Imbed Process Safety related lessons learned at the facilities.

7) Provide a point of contact between Engineering TAs and the facilities to implement specs and standards

8) Facilitate PSAs for MOCs with immediate (i.e. weekend) need, or that are bigger than the Fac Engr feels comfortable with, but don't need town support

9) Participate in incident investigations for process safety related incidents - have accountability to formally share learnings in a meaningful way across slope

10) Assist with PSA action item resolution for O&M activities (i.e. dispersion modelling for gas pads risk assessment to allow for temporary derate)

11) Provide assistance for RISc score development for Compose entries to assist with meaningful pre-appraise project description

12) Dedicated support to OSM for prioritization of risk activities and action plans (potentially using a RISc methodology) to enhance the rate of risk reduction considering efficiency and resource availability.

13) Responsible for PHA Revalidation and Recommendations progressed to proper process

14) Assistance with SORA's, SIS test plans, C&E drawings, ISA 84 life cycle

15) Knowledgeable in all aspects of facility and well pad operations with the ability to support projects with facility upgrades.

Overall Responsibilities:

- A minimum of five to ten years of experience

-Familiar with and able to facilitate/scribe various hazard identification methods and scenario-based hazard evaluation procedures (What-If, Fault Tree, Hazard and Operability, Layer of Protection Analysis, Event Tree, and/or Bow-Tie Analysis).

-Strong understanding of PSM systems

-Familiar with Process Safety Documentation (P&IDs, Cause and Effects, Safety Instrumented Systems, automation and controls)

-Familiar with Facility Siting and Inherently Safer Design principles.
