Facilities / GIS Planner

Our client who is a leading Oil and Gas Operators are currently looking for a Facilities / GIS Planner on a long term contract basis in Calgary, with occasional travel to site.

The Facilities Planner will be responsible for the collection, evaluation and electronic input of all data pertaining to the facilities planning and land management programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all elements of management of change procedure are adhered to with regards to building documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Work with Planning & Compliance team and tenants to draft scopes of work specific to tenant's requests
  • Ensure that standards and procedures conform to relevant legislation, codes and guidelines for risk management and environmental protection.
  • Support and expand GIS development within land use program
  • Uploading of data to Archibus software program
  • Define project when working with Information Systems/Contractors
  • Conduct constructability review on work packages prior to issue for tender.
  • Review contractor's proposals for technical and financial viability.
  • Review engineering drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate project field changes.
  • Perform timely QA/QC checks on building floorplans and with Long Range Planning team
  • Responsible for data management of over 200 buildings and laydowns spaces
  • Uploading of all construction drawings for permanent assets
  • Uploading of all infrastructure assets within facilities/emergency systems
  • Extract financial and visual data to support planning/construction team



Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings with comprehension specific to office space and furniture
  • Prior facilities management project experience
  • General knowledge of architectural design and facilities operations and maintenance specific to office space
  • Experience working with Computer Aided Facilities Management of Geographical Information Systems
  • Experience with Archibus or Vision FM computer aided facilities management programs
  • Previous experience with public speaking and ability to effectively present work to groups in meetings
  • Ability to conduct space surveys and verify employee and asset location
  • Knowledge of building codes and other applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation.
  • Knowledge of Short and Long Range Planning and specifics associated with a Master plan
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Project, GIS and AutoCAD
  • Ability to integrate and understand functioning of different business units within Oil and Gas sector
  • Valid class 5 driver's license

Construction Planner

Our client, a leading oil & gas organization is looking to add a Construction Planner for their topsides division in St. John's, NL. This is a 1 year independent contract.

On a day to to day basis, this individual will be supporting the Lead Planner with the development and updating of Integrated Master Schedules as well as supporting the Topsides Commissioning Manager in the development of the Topsides In-Yard Commissioning Schedule.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide schedule analysis, information on trends, and recommendations
* Audit contractors' schedules/progress systems to ensure quality and accuracy of information during engineering and construction phases
* Compile and analyze project schedule/progress data for reporting
* Interact and provide planning direction to Construction Contractors' Project Controls Team
* Oversee and analyze the progression and integration of Contractor's Construction Schedules including In-Province Equipment Packages
* Review and comment on Engineering and Construction Weekly & Monthly Reports including schedule analysis, trends, and recommendations
* Support Project Controls Lead on preparation of Monthly Progress Reports
* Prepare scenario schedule(s) as required
* Maintain close interaction with the Living Quarters and Apprentice contractor's Project Controls team
* Support where required the progression, analysis, and reporting of Out-of-Province Topsides Construction

Key Requirements


* 10 years' experience in planning and scheduling, as well as in the development of integrated schedules
* 10 years' experience in progress and productivity measurement
* 10 years' experience in, and an understanding of, cost control, document management, change management, and/or contractual functions
* 10 years' experience in, and an understanding of, steel fabrication and outfit build methodologies
* 10 years' experience in Earned Value Analysis; able to analyze data and trends and make recommendations to the project team
* 10 years' experience working in Major Construction Projects
* Strong proficiency (master) with Primavera P6
* Strong proficiency with MS Office suite, especially MS Excel; must be able to extract data from Primavera and manipulate the data for analysis purposes

Nice to Have Qualifications

* Post-Secondary degree and/or Diploma in Engineering, Technology, or Construction
* Certified Technologist (P.Tech, CET, etc.) and/or P.Eng.
* Project Management Professional (PMP)
* Planning and Schedule Professional (PSP)
* Earned Value Professional (EVP)
* 5 years' experience working in the Oil & Gas industry
* Experience using Acumen Fuse
* Experience using Pertmaster or equivalent
* Experience with Technical Writing of procedures and processes

Vendor Coordinator

Our client who is a leading Oil and Gas Operator are currently looking for a Vendor Coordinator on a 12 month contract based in Houston, Texas.


The Vendor Coordinator is responsible for coordinating my clients participation in equipment FATs, participation in discussions to determine vendor contracts strategies and coordination of vendor service reps for both installation and commissioning assistance.


Primary Functions:

  • Develop and coordinate the plan for my client's personnel attendance at equipment FATs
  • Participate in strategy discussions for vendor contracts going forward
  • Work with commissioning/construction managers and vendors to coordinate site visits of vendor service reps for both installation and commissioning assistance
  • Periodic travel will be required to the clients sites

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Engineering
  • 10 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with emphasis on Equipment
  • 10 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry with emphasis on Construction/Commissioning
  • Proficient with use of Adobe Acrobat Pro or Bluebeam Revu
  • Must be experienced in writing and reviewing detailed Work Packs
  • Able to read and understand P&ID's, PFD's and SLD's
  • Able to work in a team environment and interact with engineers, technologists, and contractors
  • Able to use Navisworks to view and interrogate the Topsides 3D Model

Project Controls Analyst

Our client who is a leading Oil and Gas company are currently looking for a Project Controls Analyst on 3 month Independent Contract basis in Ft McMurray. This position requires candidates to live and work in Fort McMurray, no Fly in Fly out or Camp provided.
Reporting to the team lead of project controls, you will support project execution by providing transactional financial support through the project life cycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the project work breakdown structures, and the project network and activities in SAP
  • Build purchase requests with required backup, vendor quotes, and in alignment with supply chain management standards
  • Enter forecast into SAP by assigned deadline
  • Prepare and submit month end journal entries to align with finance standards and timelines
  • Prepare, consolidate and analyze individual project or program reports for all partners
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all finance policies, ensuring that spending is in line with capital and/or expense guidelines
  • Drive the closure of purchase orders, the financial close, the asset listing for Finance, and the SAP closure for the project
  • Provide detailed reporting on funding progress, trending and forecasting

Experience

  • Five or more years of experience managing project financials, including month end, quarter end, and year-end reporting, and stewardship
  • Experience with project set up and effective use of the Project system in SAP
  • Degree or diploma in financial accounting or related technical or business function
  • American Association of Cost Engineering (AACE) certification or completed courses towards certification is preferred
  • Intermediate MS Office and SAP skills, specifically SAP Project system

Project Controls Engineer
