Our client is a rapidly expanding, US headquartered, manufacturer who is looking to expand their team by bringing on an Estimator who is experienced with working in architectural metals.

Estimator-Architectural Metals Job Description:

  • Responsible for the reviewing of proposal specifications and architectural drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents for an estimate.
  • Responsible for the reading of design plans and for finding the metal requirements in each plan.
  • Responsible for inside sales and various other duties

Estimator-Architectural Metals Job Requirements:

  • Ideally looking for an individual who has no less than 1 year of experience in the estimating process of Architectural Metals
  • Must have previous experience pulling the metal requirements of plans/drawings
  • No less than an Associates' Degree strongly preferred

Manual Machinist - Bullard Vertical Turret Lathe
Houston, TX

Seeking mechanically inclined Manual Machinists who are interested in a great opportunity to join a revamped and growing machine shop in North Houston.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain fixtures, set-up tools, parts, and supplies intended for Manual Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL).
  • Operate machines to remove material to achieve required dimensions prior to the application of coatings, to finish coatings, or to establish part features.
  • Perform finishing operations when required, such as deburring, tapping, honing, and bench work.
  • Follow both written and verbal work instructions, use approved gages and tools to inspect parts to determine required material removal.
  • May be required to participate in repair development projects for new programs or repair development of new repairs of existing programs.


Qualifications:

  • One-year machining experience on one, all, or a combination of; set up and operation of: Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL); Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM); Manual VTL; Vertical Grinders; Horizontal Grinders; Horizontal Engine Lathe; Vertical Grinders and Horizontal Grinders.
  • Set-up experience with tooling, fixtures with the ability to follow instructions per technical drawings or work instructions.
  • Technical high school diploma, machinist trade school, or equivalent work experience.
  • General bench skills such as use of hand-held power tools, files, assembly and disassembly.



Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.

My client is a custom metal machining and fabrication facility that has an established presence in the Houston area. They are rapidly growing due to industry demands and looking to bring on a well-versed Materials Buyer to assist with keeping the facility stocked for upcoming and current projects.

Responsibilty & Duties:

  1. Must have an in-depth knowledge and established contacts within the raw metals industry
  2. Must be able to quickly assess customer prints to understand customer and internal specifications needed for required jobs.
  3. Strong forward-thinking mindset and planning
  4. Support Outside Sales teams
  5. Ensures all Purchases Orders are reviewed and entered correctly and quickly
  6. Work with Master Scheduler to maintain Lead Time Board and communicate lead times to Sales and Manufacturing on Quotes and New Orders.
  7. Constantly improve methods/tools for quoting suppliers
  8. Support audits as needed (financial, ISO, OSHA, API, customer, etc.).

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  1. 3 to 5 years in metals commodity management for US and International mills
  2. Experience with ERP systems
  3. Familiar with the Sales and Operations Process
  4. Ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  5. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Some travel will be requiring less than 20%
  7. Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management
