Project Manager - Manufacturing:

  • Builds and maintains close working relationship with customers by providing a first point of contact for new business requests and services. Works with customers on product selection and modifications to best meet needs.
  • Prepares customer requests for proposals working with internal engineering and shop personnel to determine cost effective processes and pricing estimates.
  • Manages projects pertaining to customer schedules to achieve on time delivery of quality products. Assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources and develops timeline schedule. Acts as focal point for internal and external dissemination of information regarding customer needs and information, shop schedule and identified concerns.
  • Develops and maintains effective supplier relationships to ensure that materials are obtained at the best cost while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
  • Provides technical support to customers on service issues coordinating with internal shop personnel to address product reliability and service issues.
  • Coordinates physical inventory activities.
  • Prepares a variety of management reports as required.

Dimensional Inspector Job Description

  • Inspect parts using comparators, calipers, gauges, scales, and vision prior to shipment and visual quality assessments
  • Generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements
  • Responsible for visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications


Dimensional Inspector Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years' experience as an Inspector
  • Basic knowledge of Dimensional Inspection tools
  • Must have a good attitude and be willing to learn!

Such applications include housing, decontamination, storage, workshops, medical facilities, meeting spaces, restrooms, and many more.   • Assists with parts and system fabrication and assembly in the floor shop.
  • Prepares clear, complete and accurate shop assembly drawings and detail parts drawings from 3D models or sketches.
  • Ability to create electric schematics and diagrams and shop assembly written or verbal instructions.
  • Creates engineering drawings using computer-aided design (Pro-E)
  • Assists designers and engineers in taking field measurements and making sketches to assist in answering design, fabrication, or installation questions.
  • May be called upon to increase design throughput by providing design related activities under direct supervision of a designer or engineer.
  • Checks detail drawings to assure compliance with engineering codes and drafting standards.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Highly competent with PC software such as MS Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical drafting standards and best practices.
  • Highly developed skills with Pro-E 3D modeling software.
  • Intermediate skills with 2-D AutoCAD.

Purpose of the Position:
Use engineering principles to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products. Work on all stages of a product, from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning, also involved in the management of people and resources, as well as the development and use of new materials and technologies.

Essential job functions:

  • Developing engineering design, BOM from conceptual stage to production stage
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines.
  • Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs. Responsible for completion of component and product design within time, financial and technical guidelines established with the detailed assistance and approval of the supervisor
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Making sure a product can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs.
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results.
  • Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
  • Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering specialism.
  • Additional duties as assigned.



Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical drafting standards and best practices.
  • Highly developed skills with Pro-E 3D modeling software, and intermediate skills with 2-D AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of FEA modeling is preferred but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experienced with defining, performing, and analyzing structures through Finite Element Analysis.
  • Ability to use hand measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work "hands-on" when required is highly desirable
  • BSME degree and at least 4 years of applicable ME design experience; or a Masters Degree and 3 years experience.
  • Highly competent with PC hardware and software such as MS Office.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods in an industrial plant. Minimum of 4 years experience in sheet metal manufacturing and has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job function:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, assembly methods, work force utilization and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Benchmarks against key KPIs (on-time, on-budget, as specified) and creates new ones if needed.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Desired Skills:

  • Needs to have a "hands-on" sheet metal manufacturing experience.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Intermediate skills and experience with 2-D and 3-D CAD systems, such as AutoCAD and Pro-E.
  • BS degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or similar with minimum of 4 years in sheet metal manufacturing. M.S. is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma etc is highly desirable
