Rotating Equipment Engineer - Oil & Gas - Major Project - Owner / Operator - Rotterdam - Dutch Speaking

My client, a global Oil & Gas Owner / Operator, are looking for a Dutch Speaking Rotating Equipment Engineer to join them on a permanent basis and work on a Major Project.

  • Leading the execution for the technical elements of critical rotating equipment on assigned projects through Basic Engineering & Design and Detailed Engineering & Design phases with responsibility for delivering committed work on-schedule and on-budget.
  • Support development of project strategy and schedule in pre-FEED and Process Design Package.
  • Liaise closely with proposal team and third party engineering companies to develop rotating equipment scope.
  • Represent the machinery engineering function in cross-functional project meetings including P&ID review, HAZOP, layout review and model review Be involved with inspections and testing of purchased critical rotating equipment and perform site inspections of installations Lead kick-off and design review meetings with suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement of internal engineering standards and processes.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines and coordinate cross-functional reviews of suppliers drawings to enable integration of purchased equipment into overall plant designs, ensuring compliance across full project scope.
  • Prepare technical specification packages for critical rotating equipment and undertake technical evaluation, development and technical risk assessment & mitigation of proposals for purchase and supplier proposals.
  • Deliver technical support throughout the project construction and commissioning phases retaining overall technical responsibility for equipment until successful handover.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer.
  • Major Oil & Gas project experience.
  • Bachelors of Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
  • Fluent Dutch Language Skills.
  • Must be able to work in the EU without sponsorship.

Turbo Machinery Engineer

As a member of this team, the Project Application Engineer would be expected to contribute on all technical pieces of the project, including hardware, software, and control schemes.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate with the client, and make suggestions as the Turbomachinery Controls (TMC) expert. Startup Support is a big part of the job.
Will be part of multi-discipline teams in the area of Turbo-Machinery, including but not limited to: Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Compressors (Surge and Performance Control), Generators (AVR and Protection), Diesel Engines, and Hydro Turbines.
Projects stages include: Customer-Facing KO Meeting, System Design Drawings, Control Narratives, Programming, Factory Acceptance Testing, and Commissioning (on-site).


Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering expected
2-5 Years of Turbo-Machinery controls experience in the following is desired: Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Hydro Turbines, Compressors (Surge), Generators (AVR), and Diesel Engines.
Experience with any of the following is a major plus: Triconex Hardware, TS1131 software, Wonderware HMI, Foxboro DCS (I/A), Modicon Hardware, Modicon Unity Pro Software, any Function Based Programming Software.

Ability to multi-task on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Ability to work well in a multi-discipline team environment
Some travel may be expected

Mechanical - Rotating equipment engineer

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university, MS is preferred.

A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration will be desirable but is not essential.

You will have at least 10 years of experience in the industrial operation facility, Shale gas facility is preferred. Also, has a good knowledge of the Modular skids mounted unit.

You must have a working knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as ASME and API, such as API-STD-610 and 617. You must have a working knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as ASME and API, such as API-STD-610 and 617.

You will have experience with creating/modifying PFDs, and P&IDs.

You will have experience with troubleshooting and major repair of oil and gas rotating equipment, such as air compressors, pumps and Diesel generators.

You will have experience in creating schematics and piping diagrams.

You will have experience with rotating equipment and piping field Installation, Commissioning and testing.

You will have experience in specifying piping and equipment layout.

You will have a thorough understanding of plant operations, process technologies, supply and product logistics, business drivers, cost drivers, and feedstock sensitivities. In addition, you will have a detailed understanding of product properties, customer applications and requirements.

You must also demonstrate the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies and presentations that are pivotal in shaping management's decisions

You should be capable of communicating with multidiscipline engineers to complete projects

You should have proven ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels within the organization. Capable of spotting and reconciling conflicting views and interests among different parts of the organization

Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.

You will be able to communicate what are frequently complex technical, economic and commercial concepts in a clear and succinct manner to individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds.

You will be a hands-on person who will immediately command the professional respect of others who possess long-time practical experience of working in or serving the industry and be a person whom others, at all levels, will seek out for advice and counsel.

You should be able to work effectively with the minimum of supervision on relatively unstructured tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Provide day-to-day technical support to the Operation and Maintenance to troubleshoot and fix Rotating

Equipment and mechanical systems.

Develop the engineering designs packages for the new installation and upgrade projects.

Review Project Proposals and Detailed Designs packages for new facilities .

Participate on the testing & commissioning of the new facilities and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I).

Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.

Analyze system performance and find solution for Energy saving.

Ensure quality, cost effective and timely solutions to any upgrade.

Test and pilot new technologies.

Ensure full HSE Compliance.

Report and analyze key performance indices.

Make recommendations for technical/economic optimization of existing facilities.

Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities.
Contribute to Business Unit strategy.

Assist in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff.

Provide analysis, evaluation and interpretation in support of projects, processes, and financing related to Our clients capital investment decisions.

Maintain and expand on contacts within the industry.

Regularly interact with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis.

My client, a global Oil & Gas Owner / Operator, are looking for a Dutch Speaking Static Equipment Engineer to join them on a permanent basis and work on a Major Project.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review of documentation provided by Licensor and Contractor (including data sheets, drawings, requisitions and specifications) for pressure vessels (including reactors, columns and drums) storage tanks and heat exchangers to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Provision of support and advice on static equipment matters.
  • Contribute to inter - discipline reviews and value engineering exercises.
  • Extensive experience, primarily in a contracting environment, working with pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers on FEED and EPC projects for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industries.
  • Mechanical design of pressure vessels using PV Elite (or other commercially available software package).
  • Experience of thermal design using HTRI would be an advantage.
  • Flexible attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience specialising in Static Equipment.
