Analytical Equipment Field Engineer

My client is a global manufacturer and servicer of analytical instrumentation and equipment that are utilized in a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to petrochemical, refinery, environmental, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical. They are currently looking to bring on board a well-versed Field Service Engineer with experience in this space. I have listed the following responsibilities and requirements for this role. Job Description:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, both in-house, as well as in the field
  • Troubleshooting problems on equipment
  • Installing and removing equipment at customer locations
  • Utilizing various tools, software, and test equipment for repair/maintenance
  • Provide training and support on equipment to customers
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Interact daily with customers
  • Administrative duties such as expense, reports, customer information, etc.
  • Heavy travel, up to 70%, which can include overnight travel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) OR related STEM degree
  • Certification in Electrical or Electronic Troubleshooting
  • 5 years of working experience around Analytical Equipment
  • Able to travel heavily, including overnight
  • Valid Driver License
  • Located in California, no specific location.

MWD Mechanical Engineer

My client is a Engineering and Manufacturing firm focused around downhole tools and technology such as MWD, LWD and Wireline tools. They focus mainly on the R&D side, but also do sustainable work as well. They are looking to bring on a well versed Mechanical Engineer with prior experience in this space. Please review the following duties and requirements:

Job Duties:

  • Analyze mechanical failures and design solutions.
  • Design fixtures to improve in-house testing and assembly.
  • Maintain existing technical drawings.
  • Designing tools for high temperature/high pressure environments
  • Conduct small projects to increase reliability and performance of existing products.
  • Create 3D drawings for designs, and follow them through their lifecycle, assisting with the manufacturing process in the machine shop.
  • Might be subjected to other task in relations to this role.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent STEM degree
  • 5 years of experience working with Downhole Tools
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 3D software and AutoCAD
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters.

Test Services Technician

Petroplan are looking for a Test Services Technician to work in the South East UK on a permanent staff basis.

This role supports the Electrical and Instrumentation side of the mechanical/engine/rig testing team.

The Test Services Technician Role is an integral part of the Test Services team working to support the on-going projects within Product Testing and Engineering.

They are required to complete a variety of tasks ranging from mechanical fabrication, maintenance of established test beds, support the mechanical team with on-going installations and maintenance equipment programs.

The role will support engine and rig testing operations throug build, disassembly, problem solving & diagnostic skills. They will work closely with the Test Services Team to support of a variety of fuels or lubricant technical projects.

Educational background:

  • NVQ L3 in engineering/science or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Knowledge of the installation and operation of test engines.
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel combustion processes.
  • Knowledge of diesel and gasoline fuel delivery systems and operating strategies.

Desirable Experience:

  • Ability to use CAD/ 3D drawing packages.
  • Experience of engine test control systems.
  • Experience of data acquisition and analysis of data.

Lean Supervisor Qualifications:

Calgary based downhole tool manufacturer of Completions and Well Stimulation tools are currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to head up a product line. The client are looking for someone with experience designing tools such as Liner Hangers, Packers, Sliding Sleeves, Frac Plugs and related equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in company developing new product lines whilst continuously improving manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for product design, testing and manufacturing process. This involves initial design and prototyping, calculation overview, design for manufacturing, qualification, documentation, R&D and manufacturing.
  • Review and maintain quality standards in all processes and documentation ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Verify existing test methods and develop new efficient tools and tests.
  • Oversee all staff involved in manufacturing and design process for specific products to ensure quality standards are met and adherence to production schedules.
  • Guide and assist team under product banner, such as R&D, Design, Sales and Manufacturing.
  • Create to workflow schedules to achieve production target and to market goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or qualified Mechanical Engineering Technologist with experience.
  • Over 4 years' experience in design and manufacturing of downhole tools is essential.
  • APEGA registration as P.Eng is preferred.
  • Proficient is design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Experienced leading teams of varied skill levels to achieve set goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • For consideration candidates must have knowledge and experience with flow control and fracturing tool manufacturing.
