Senior Mechanical Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls

My client is a global manufacturer of analytical instruments and controls that are utilized in a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to petrochemical, refinery, environmental, food & beverage, and pharmaceutical. They are currently looking to bring on board a well versed Mechanical Engineer with experience in this space. I have listed the following responsibilities and requirements for this role. Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing engineering tools to review, develop and prepare documents related to Analytical instrument designs
  • Developing drawings with the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Applying the use of FEA
  • Compiling reports and project documentations for upper management
  • Developing test procedures and conducting test
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree Mechanical Engineering, required. MS in Mechanical Engineering or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, strongly preferred
  • 7 years' experience in electro-mechanical control systems engineering or related
  • Able to work without sponsorship
  • Local to the Houston, TX area (relocation will not be provided)

My Client is an engineering and manufacturing company specialized around downhole tools and technology, more specifically MWD and LWD tools. They are looking for a well versed Mechanical Engineer to join the team and be a key contributor with product improvement. This is a full time, PERMANENT role. Please review the following responsibilities and requirements:

Job Duties:

  • Provide ongoing improvements to existing tools
  • Maintain existing drawing and documents
  • Working with SolidWorks for all 3D Designs
  • Following designs through the whole lifecycle
  • Assisting with manufacturing processes
  • Conduct testing on tools/equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Must have SolidWorks experienced
  • Experienced with HTHP designs
  • Prior Downhole tools and technology experience, MWD and LWD is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer OR Mechanical Engineering Technology

Completion Tools Mechanical Engineer

I am working with a company in the Houston area that focuses around Completion tools for the Oil & Gas industry, and are actively growing their team due to new product development and growth. They looking to bring on an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer that has specific experience around lower completion tools design. This will very much be a hands on and fast paced position. This is an opportunity for an individual to work in collaborative R&D environment, where they can have their hands on the entire process from initial concept, protyping, testing, and commercialization, all while recieving full accolades.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Developing manufacturing drawing and specs
  • Utilizing SolidWorks for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for 2D
  • Hands on prototype testing
  • Generating test plans, instructions, and various other relevant documents
  • Ability to travel to field locations as needed
  • Support customers with custom product development, instructions and general product support
  • Act as project engineer and manage assigned project, and mentoring junior personnel as need be
  • Various compliance and QA/QC activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
  • Prior experience in Completion tool designs
  • Experience with CNC and/or manual machining is a plus

My client is a Completion tool manufacturer. They are looking for a well versed Mechanical Engineer to come on-board and help with demands of the booming market. This role is responsible for continuously enhancing the design and functionality of the existing equipment to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Applies and demonstrates engineering and design principles
  • Primarily working on various completion tools
  • Develops and improves equipment design and processes to enhance service life and operation efficiencies
  • Addresses all issues and works closely with key stakeholders on equipment/components failures and issues
  • Supports operations, 3rd parties, manufacturing and engineering
  • Works closely with departments to develop and improve products/services
  • Conducts and analyzes equipment designs using engineering principals
  • Manages workload and ensures timely, efficient, and effective completion of assigned projects/tasks
  • Identifies and implements improvements to equipment and design and provides support
  • Produces technical documentation related to equipment design and processes
  • Ensues all documents are easily accessible and properly maintained (e.g. drawings, procedures, etc.)
  • Maintains awareness on the latest technologies used in the industry
  • Assist engineering on testing equipment and analyzing technical data
  • Promotes a safe workplace and follows safety standards at all times
  • Complies with statutory regulations and organizational safety requirements
  • Willingness to accept new assignments and ability complete assigned task timely
  • Maintains good communication and information flow within the team
  • Contributes to control of critical situations and responds to emergencies
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities, as necessary
  • Strong attention to details


Preferred Experience

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Experience in equipment manufacturing and/or oilfield pumping experience preferred
  • Mechanical or Electrical design is an asset
  • Fluent in CAD and other engineering 3D modeling software
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Experience with understanding projects from the perspective of both client and business
