PROJECT ENGINEER
DESCRIPTION
Current vacancy in an Alberta based company that designs and manufactures oil and gas processing equipment for both the Canadian and International marketplace. Product lines cover surface production equipment from wellhead to pipe line. Specialists in packaged equipment, ranging from single skid units to interconnected multiple skid modules for larger gas processing plants and compression packages.
For this role, my client requires an experienced Project Engineer to work alongside management developing new products, this includes working with teams across the business to ensure project completion.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with management and other essential personnel to develop the design, ensuring alignment with scope.
  • Draft and review technical project documents including: Technical Descriptions, Request for Quote (RFQ), Scope of Work, etc.
  • Support project design and technical scoping, performance of design work, and change management are implemented per project.
  • Provide direct support to Project Manager creating deliverables for decision making.
  • Coordinate the procurement, logistics and shipping of all materials with Supply Chain and Manufacturing.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 - 10 years of experience with Oil & Gas compression systems; e.g. Reciprocating, Centrifugal and Rotary Screw Compressors. Direct experience with oilfield packaged systems is a bonus.
  • Registered P.Eng with APEGA or similar authority.
  • B.Sc. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or similar degree
  • A thorough and demonstrated knowledge of the processes involved in the Oil & Gas market place (Conventional - upstream/midstream and SAGD)
  • Superior and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Have a proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
  • Assist sales team as required, this may include answering technical queries or presentations to clients.

Petroplan is currently working with a successful Independent downhole tools supplier who are currently going through an exciting stage of growth and are looking for several MWD Operators to assist with this.

You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Having proper communication with the directional driller and foreman to ensure that the requirements of the MWD are set and are ready to use.
  • Setting the required hardware that will be used in the MWD at the site. Checking tools to make sure that it is working properly and to ensure that the tools used are safe.
  • Dealing with third party vendors with a strong focus on cost and performance

Mechanical Technician

Mechanical Technician

  • Perform daily maintenance activities including repairs, PMs, troubleshooting and callouts;
  • Maintain pumps, valves, and related oilfield equipment by conducting field inspections to ensure reliability and dependability for day to day operations;
  • Complete preventative maintenance schedules of stations and sites to ensure all maintenance is completed to predetermined schedules;
  • Participate in installation, maintenance and operation of all new product quality initiatives as needed;
  • Assist as needed with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new equipment and modifications to existing facilities;
  • Complete assignments safely, efficiently and in an environmentally conscious manner by observing the accepted company and industry safety practices;
  • Familiar with SAP - PMM program to implement updated maintenance requirements;
  • Maintain good working relationships with all departments and areas of operation;
  • Supervise contractors as required; and
  • Maintain assigned vehicle in good clean operable order and maintain required inspections and government documentation.


Qualifications

  • Possess an Interprovincial Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright Certificate;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline operations;
  • Oilfield Construction experience would be considered an asset;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, SAP and other business related computer programs and applications;
  • Familiar with SAP - PMM maintenance program would be a preference;
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; and

E&I Technician

Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Permanent full time- Must be within a 1 hour drive to the Gordondale Area.

  • Complete assignments safely, observing all accepted Company and industry safety practices;
  • PLC Programming;
  • Calibration of meters and analogs;
  • Lock out of equipment and working in collaboration with Mechanical and Operations group;
  • Installation of new instrumentation equipment;
  • Supervision of construction contractors as required;
  • On-going preventative maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrumentation equipment; and
  • Complete preventative maintenance schedules of stations and sites to ensure all maintenance is completed to predetermined schedules.


Qualifications

  • Provincial Electrical ticket required with 5 years experience minimum;
  • Medium voltage experience would be an asset;
  • Experience in pipeline operations is preferred;
  • Modicon PLC Programming experience an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of motor controls, Modicon PLC's, RTU's, along with other analytical and instrumentation equipment associated with pipeline operations;
  • Some knowledge of communication systems would be an asset;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and other business related computer programs and applications;
  • Familiar with SAP - PMM maintenance program is preferred;
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and trouble shooting skills;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; and
  • Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset, but if incomplete, will be provided by company to the successful candidate.

Petroplan is currently working with a large E&P business who are in the process of increasing rig activity in the Permian. Due to this continued growth, a need has arisen within the business to add a Completion Engineer to their Permian operations division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming unconventional projects.

In this position, you will report directly into the Completion Manager. This position will be a hands on field role for the first two years before moving in to the San Antonio corporate office after.

You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Investigate fracture stimulation applications for use in the field and make recommendations on new methods/techniques
  • Work with other departments to identify the best way to improve stimulation treatments to maintain the balance between performance and price.
  • Travel to the field is required as and when needed
  • Deal with third party vendors with a strong focus on cost and performance

You must have at least 2 years of experience, including hands on frac experience and ideally some Coil tubing experience.

Senior Process Engineer

A leading North American Oil & Gas owner/operator is looking to add a Senior Process Engineer due to their expanding footprint in the Denver, Colorado Area. This is an exciting full time permanent job working on the organization's upcoming high profile projects.

This senior individual will provide technical direction and oversight to the process engineers and contractor to ensure that the process designs meet the intended objectives.

On a day to day basis, the Senior Process Engineer will:

  • Take on project designs from initial inception phase to final completion
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in the area of process engineering and provide technical guidance and mentoring to younger process engineers
  • Represent process engineering to operations personnel in the design and implementation of process designs
  • Complete process engineering designs and process studies as required for the small capital projects group
  • Participate in and offer advice during process hazard analysis (PHA) or layers of protection analysis (LOPA) for small capital projects
  • Demonstrate a safety mindset both on and off the job
  • Develop and sustain internal and external customer relationships in order to ensure appropriate partners have reviewed process designs
  • Provide technical mentorship for refinery operations, catalyst loadings, turnarounds, etc.


The Individual

  • The Senior Process Engineer will have extensive years of process engineering experience, focusing on the downstream and refining sector.
  • Minimum five years of project design & process design experience
  • Minimum three years of operational and functional support experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree of Chemical Engineering is needed.
  • The Ability to use Aspentech's HYSYS process simulator is needed as well as the Ability to learn new computer packages specific to the business (Book, KMS, PSPPM, SAP etc.)
