Overall Management Qualifications and Experience

  • Overall responsibility of the Procurement and Contracts function for the region
  • Ensure adherence to procurement, inventory control and contract management procedures in the region
  • Ensure leveraging of procurement synergies across projects within a geographic region
  • Ensure timely performance appraisals and training needs identification for all departmental employees

Regional Procurement

  • Overall responsibility for providing price estimates for all materials/ services to Estimation and Operations departments for Estimation and Budgeting purposes respectively
  • Ensure consolidation of the procurement budgets across various on-going projects to develop an integrated procurement budget
  • Participate in the equipment hire-purchase decision at Estimation/Budgeting stages
  • Inform all approved suppliers about authorized signatories on purchase orders
  • Participate in negotiations for items under Global and Regional procurement, as required
  • Approve procurement of materials and services under regional procurement along with the Task Force Project Procurement Head
  • Review instances of budgetary non-compliance for materials/services under site/regional procurement and approve the same
  • Monitor procurement budget and obtain reasons for rate variance from the respective Task Force Project Procurement Heads.
  • Approve deviations from the standard terms and conditions or changes in the purchase order format, if any
  • Approve amendments to the work order with sub-contractors
  • Obtain approval of waiver in LD charges

Sub-Contracts Management

  • Review and finalize the following documents during the tendering stage
  • Review progress reports of work undertaken by subcontractors, assist project team, as required
  • Ensure accurate and timely certification of sub-contractors bills as per established procedures; resolve instances of delayed certification based on MIS reports from site
  • Review and approve requests for sub-contract variation orders/extensions requested by Project Team
  • Critically examine claims raised by subcontractors (wherever applicable) and approve them along with Head Project Procurement
  • Insurance and Bank Guarantees
  • Approve insurance requirements for the project
  • Finalize insurance policy keeping in view project requirements
  • Ensure settlement of claims on insurance companies


Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree with MBA or MS preferred. CPCM
20-25 years procurement experience, including 3-5 years of senior level responsibility

Our client supplies valves to energy clients/projects globally. The customers include major end-users, engineering companies and process package manufacturers. They understand project specifications, how projects change, and the need to deliver on time. Their products, and partner factories, satisfy complex end-user specifications, such as: Maersk and Shell, and are manufactured in compliance with relevant standards from quality raw material sources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Develop and implement a sales plan with defined objectives, prepare strategies, budgets, forecast and action plans.
*Report sales activity through regular sales reports submitted to manager on a timely basis.
*Lead sales campaigns for all phases from identifying opportunities to structuring the deal, negotiating, and closing opportunities.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Field Deployment Specialist who will be based out of our Calgary office in Alberta. The role is to deploy DarkVision’s technology in a wide variety of different jobs across different well types and downhole applications in Alberta and more broadly in the North American market. You’ll be working with a wide variety of oil and gas operators, service companies, deployments systems and personnel and will be personally responsible for the successful execution of each job.

The most important characteristic of the successful candidate is that they are very hard-working and a self-starter. Also, the ability to travel and spend lots of time in the field is an absolute must in this particular role. You’ll be supported by our Operations and Engineering teams, but you’ll be the person on-site who’s responsible for the job itself along with communications to the customer.

Specific Skills Required: This particular role has a few key requirements that a successful candidate would have in order the hit the ground running and be able to get up to speed in a short period of time.

  • Wireline/Logging Experience: Experience deploying other logging technologies using wireline, tractor, coil and various other deployment methods. This would ideally be experience from North American deployments in the US or Canada.
  • Oil Field Service Experience: General experience with downhole equipment, well construction, completions etc. would be another important asset.
  • Technical Background: A technical or engineering background would be helpful in better understanding the technology and how it works, but not a hard requirement.

 

Responsibilities (depending on the candidate’s skills, experience and aptitude, there are a wide variety of potential responsibilities and key areas for contribution):

  • Everything & Anything: There will be a wide assortment of standard and not-so-standard tasks that you’ll be expected to complete, both inside and outside the typical business development umbrella. There’s an entrepreneurial side to the role, so no task will be either above or beneath you.
  • Deployments: Successfully deploy the technology in wells, including mobilization, rig-up, rig-down, communications with site personnel, service companies and ultimately oversee the deployment of the products in each customer’s well.
  • Travel: The successful candidate will travel primarily in Western Canada, but will also travel internationally, largely within North America to deploy the technology with various oil and gas operators. Travel is a key component of the job, and a flexible personal-life that can support a career where time away from home is the norm is an absolute must. If you don’t want to be out of town, you shouldn’t apply for this job.
  • Preparation for Jobs: Ensuring that tools, parts, trucks and critical equipment are checked, cleaned, calibrated and verified for each job is a natural part of deploying the technology. Taking care of the tools, fixing, cleaning, testing and refurbishing.
  • Communications: Quick, clear and effective communication with customers, site personnel and DarkVision staff are your responsibility to ensure deployments are successful and everyone has the information they need.  
  • Trouble-Shooting: Deploying new technology naturally comes with the necessity to troubleshoot new problems that arise on-site in real-time. You’ll be supported by the engineering and operations teams, but the ability to figure things out quickly, improvise and succeed under pressure will be critical to overall job success. The capacity to both anticipate and solve field problems is paramount.
  • Product Input & Feedback: Provide feedback and ideas on how to improve the product, technology and operational processes to increase efficiency, quality and scalability of the overall business. Feedback from the field is critical and will be incorporated directly into the engineering team to improve existing and future products.

We are looking for a Business Development professional who will be based out of our Calgary office in Alberta. The role itself could encompass a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities, depending on the successful applicant’s skill-set, aptitude, ability and experience. The primary objectives and responsibilities for the role are depicted in the sections below. In general, you’ll be working directly with DarkVision’s CEO on a wide variety of sales, marketing, product and business development tasks and projects.

The most important characteristic of the successful candidate is that they are very hard-working and a self-starter. There is a large amount of flexibility and freedom in the role, along with growth potential, so someone looking to use that freedom to significantly advance their career and put in the hard work necessary to do so, would be an ideal candidate. Job Description:

  • Requires machine programming, set up, clean down, and visual inspection of completed parts.

CMMS Engineer

Petroplan are looking to recruit a CMMS Engineer who can be based in 1 of three sites, either in Southampton, Kent or Hemel Hampstead.

This will be a permanent staff role with all the benefits and bonuses of working for a large Oil and Gas company.

Job Spec:

  • Establish a network of Terminal based CMMS super-users who are able to drive the effective use of CMMS at a local level and provide subject related matter expertise to the Terminal Operations personnel.
  • Act as point of contact for escalated CMMS related issues and provide Terminal Storage Operations Managers and Engineering Teams with technical guidance in matters of CMMS utilisation and compliance.
  • Develop effective maintenance programs by leading Terminal based Reliability Centred Maintenance studies ensuring that they meet regulatory and mandated requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or qualifications, demonstrated experience and training to an equivalent level.
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer, or working towards chartered or incorporated status, with a recognised professional body.
  • IT Skills Certification particularly in MS Applications.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Trained and experienced with Control of Work and Permit to Work systems, confined space entry and working at height.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience with CMMS ideally in Frontline, Maximo or SAP PM
  • Excellent knowledge of the equipment processes and standards employed in the oil storage and distribution sector.
  • Thorough understanding of industry related risks (safety and business) and able to relate to specific legislation.
  • Thorough grasp of principals and application of Maintenance / Asset Management techniques such as RCM, CBM, RBM and FMECA.
  • Significant and demonstrable experience with CMMS ideally in Frontline, Maximo or SAP PM
  • HAZOP / LOPA / Risk Assessment and Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong IT skills.

Due to this continued growth, a need has arisen within the Engineering team to add a highly experienced Completion Engineer to their Permian operations division to assist with the ongoing and upcoming unconventional projects.

In this position, you will report directly into the Engineering Manager and act as the focal point for completions engineering activity. You will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key challenges will include:

  • Preparing operational plans for planned wells and liaising with other departments when required
  • Travel to the field is required as and when needed
  • Deal with third party vendors with a strong focus on cost and performance

You must have at least 10 years of experience, including 6 years' experience in oil and gas operations working as a Completion Engineer. Experience working in the Permian is preferred and must hold at least a Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline.

Suitable candidates will be a driven, autonomous, self-motivated safety professional who is passionate and hungry to succeed.

In this role, you will take overall responsibility for the strategy and delivery of the team. You will lead and be responsible for your team's business development and candidate generation activities. Key responsibilities in the role will be: -

Management

  • Individual coaching and mentoring of Recruitment Consultants and Resourcers

Strategic Business Development

  • Working with the Regional Directors, Account Managers and fellow Team Managers to agree business development targets with a view to increasing the profitable client base each year
  • New business development and increasing gross profit over each financial year
  • Building strong relationships with clients, understanding their business and people strategy (and therefore their resourcing needs) and implementing strategies to meet those needs, thereby ensuring Petroplan is their recruitment partner of choice and the first point of contact when business needs arise.
  • Managing commercial negotiations with clients including agreement of commercial terms and negotiation of fees, mark-up etc. and ensuring that comprehensive records are produced and maintained
  • Filling vacancies and achieving your own placement and gross profit targets



Skills & experience

You will:

  • Be an experienced Team Leader or Manager with proven experience of sales delivery in a results-focused environment, within the Technology industry
  • Have strong experience in recruitment (3 - 5 years), with a proven track record in billing
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the financial drivers of a business to enable improvement in gross profit.
  • Demonstrate good experience in developing and maintaining client and candidate relationships, preferably with passive candidates
  • Build and motivate your team, encourage creative thinking and inspire them to over-achieve.
  • Have an inquiring and inquisitive mind that thrives on building relationships at all levels.

I am working with a company in the Houston area that focuses in custom metal machining and fabrication for a variety of industries. They have a particular business line that focuses around Completion tools for the Oil & Gas industry, and are actively growing their team due to new product development. They looking to bring on an experienced Design Engineer that has specific experience around Toe Sleeves and/or Casing Buoyancy tools design. This will very much be a hands on and fast paced position.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Developing manufacturing drawing and specs
  • Utilizing SolidWorks for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for 2D
  • Hands on prototype testing
  • Generating test plans, instructions, and various other relevant documents
  • Ability to travel to field locations as needed
  • Support customers with custom product development, instructions and general product support
  • Act as project engineer and manage assigned project, and mentoring junior personnel
  • Various compliance and QA/QC activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
  • Prior experience in Completion tool designs
  • Experience with CNC and/or manual machining is a plus
