Petroplan is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for our client, a major operator based south of Houston. Candidates with strong experience working in petrochemical, refining, and/or LNG facilities are preferred.
Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure the safe and reliable operation of on-site electrical equipment. The complexity of the electrical power systems in both the LQF and PTF plants requires the availability of high level technical expertise on short notice to understand unfolding events, explain them to operations and maintenance personnel, and to supervise the repairs/restarting of problematic electrical equipment.
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all static electrical equipment reliability
  • Learn operations of all facility processes and equipment
  • Assist facility personnel with operational and maintenance problems
  • Perform advanced equipment troubleshooting
  • Apply electrical engineering principles to evaluate electrical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs
  • Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and testing properties
  • Develop electrical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements
  • Research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
  • Confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
  • Complete projects by training and guiding technicians
  • Insure all regulatory requirements are met, regarding maintenance activities for electrical equipment
  • Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining maintenance procedures for electrical equipment

Required SkillsSkill Level

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • MS in Electrical Engineering with experience in high voltage processes (preferred)
  • 10 years' experience in plant reliability engineering
  • 5-7 years' experience in planned and unplanned maintenance scheduling
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills - including root cause failure/analysis
  • Knowledge and experience working with electrical harmonics, harmonic filters, non-linear loads, and high/medium voltage electrical power systems
  • Knowledge and experience in the application and programming of protective relays, with a focus on Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories equipment, illumination, methods, luminary types and calculations, grounding, ground potential rise and static bonding, and the National Electrical Code
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E; Safety in Design, and Safety in the field
  • Control Engineering with production planning and job knowledge
  • Ability to develop and lead the MOC process
  • Permitting work, incident reporting, confined space entry, energy isolation
  • Strong general consulting and planning skills
  • Experience in reading and understanding P&ID & PFD drawings and instrument & electrical drawings
  • Understanding of vendor/equipment supplied data sheets
  • Active learner and a self-starter/motivated
  • Trouble-shooting/analytical skills
  • Effective communications, good presentation skills, strong computer skills, SAP experience, MS, and budget management experience



Candidates with the following work experience will be strongly preferred:

  • Work experience with large electrical motors and/or high voltage electrical motors
  • Work experience in a petrochemical facility, refinery, and/or an LNG facility
  • Work experience with large cryogenic heat exchangers
  • Work experience with large compressors
  • Work experience with the cold-end of an ethylene or amine processing facility
  • Work experience tracing piping and instrument design schematics

Job Overview
The electrical engineer will be responsible for the design of electrical engineering equipment and systems for major LNG/downstream facilities. The electrical engineer will also be required to implement improvements to streamline project activities and will be leaned on to provide operational support.
Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex engineering, design, analysis or other technical tasks within the electrical discipline utilizing current technology, available standards, calculation software, templates and catalogued products
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties
  • Prepare/review load lists, power system studies, single lines, equipment layouts, area classifications, sizing calculations, schematics, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions and technical bid analysis

Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer

Petroplan are seeking an experienced Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to work for one of our clients, a mid-sized operator within the petro-chem industry. The role will be initially based in Houston but required to transfer to the Project Site in Louisiana (near Baton Rouge) in mid-2019.
Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Serves as site subject matter expert for rotating equipment.
  • Coordination of the technical rotating equipment disciplines activities during the different phases of the project.
  • Leads troubleshooting efforts related to rotating equipment issues onsite.
  • Monitoring of the compliance with the specified deadlines, contractual stipulations and quality of work.
  • Review and approve detailed rotating equipment engineering drawings and operating, testing, and commissioning procedures for Rotating and related disciplines.
  • Project schedule progress monitoring.
  • Document Management System.
  • Cost Control.
  • Punch listing, subsystems and systems acceptance.
  • Work Permit, Job Plan and Risk Analysis.
  • Interface with plant operations/maintenance.
  • Assists in the organization of project-related, technical meetings with the engineering company and/or third parties.
  • Lead participation of the technical rotating equipment discipline in meetings with vendors, equipment inspection and testing.
  • Oversee the development of basic design, detailed engineering and procurement- related activities of Rotating Equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers and turbines.
  • Review and approve all related rotating equipment engineering project specifications and technical standards.
  • Review and participate in the selection process for all major rotating equipment and system.
  • Supervise and coordinate rotating equipment teams in the implementation of the above tasks.


Skills / Experience:

  • BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Associated experience with plant operations, commissioning and start up management

Job Overview

Individuals are expected to apply engineering principles, methods and techniques to the project assignments. The role will be heavily involved in the design of Downstream / LNG Facilities.

  • EIT in Fire Protection, Licensed FPE preferred, Texas P. Eng. desirable.
  • LNG Industry or petrochemical project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Petro-Chem facilities - LNG experience a plus

  • Manage medium to large projects and provide engineering design.
  • Optimize daily unit operations, which includes monitoring operating costs, product yields, catalyst activity, chemical usage, and energy utilization.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement processes and/or projects aimed at improving unit yields or energy utilization.
  • Partner with Environmental, Operations, and Safety Departments during all phases of project development and execution.
  • Conduct Hazard and Operability study reviews and fulfill other Management of Change requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience / Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years process design experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License preferred

Our client supplies valves to energy clients/projects globally. The customers include major end-users, engineering companies and process package manufacturers. They understand project specifications, how projects change, and the need to deliver on time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Develop and implement a sales plan with defined objectives, prepare strategies, budgets, forecast and action plans.
*Report sales activity through regular sales reports submitted to manager on a timely basis.
*Lead sales campaigns for all phases from identifying opportunities to structuring the deal, negotiating, and closing opportunities.
*Partner and coordinate with other other teammates globally regarding projects and sales activities.
