Installation Analysis engineer

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Overall Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of installation analys using Orcaflex
  • Good knowledge of Python and Excel VBA
  • Knowledge of Abaqus is a plus
  • Manages a technical scope within the project/tender team with associated engineers and draftmen
  • Manages the technical documentation related to the scope
  • Ensures that installation procedures and associated calculations are in line
  • Ensures that specifications and norms related to the project are respected
  • Provides support to offshore operations with possible short periods offshore or on yard,
  • Participates actively to engineers training and development,
  • Participates actively to the PG department know-how consolidation,
  • Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction


AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

  • Operate within the Code of Conduct
  • Support standards and procedures for the Engineering and Operations Functions

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience in a similar role, within Subsea Engineering is essential
  • Previous experience working with Abaqus and Orcaflex is essential
  • Previous experience working with Python and VBA is desireable
  • There will be offshore visits involved in this role so candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, full offshore certification

Senior Riser Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Subsea Riser Engineer to work for an operator based in the London area on a long term contract.

Subsea Riser Engineer will be responsible for total 'delivery' (design, procurement, fabrication, installation and testing) of the riser system for tie-back projects.

He/She must have Flexible Riser's experience

He/she will lead the Riser Delivery team by working with the Design Contractor, Material Suppliers, Fabricators and Installers, as well as the project management services contractor.

He/she will also work with the Sub-Surface, Wells, Facilities and Operations teams to ensure the effective integration of the riser system into the overall project.

The Subsea Riser Engineer also supports ongoing operations/field team activity for existing fields. The candidate would aid the asset support engineers to troubleshoot any problem, and aid in looking ahead to be proactive in the health of the riser system.

In this role, there will be an opportunity to mentor junior engineers.

Key Accountabilities:

- Demonstrate good safe work practices

- Determine subsea riser alternatives with project engineer

- Estimate costs and timing to bring the project to sanction

- Develop and maintain a project execution plan for the design, procurement, manufacture, testing and installation of the riser system

- Ensure all Value Improvement Practices are incorporated into riser design

- Provide and implement an assurance plan for leading the design, construction, installation, and commissioning assurance reviews

- Manage the riser system and suppliers through execution of the project work plan to ensure that the projects objectives in terms of HSE, reliability, operability, schedule and budget are met

- Technical oversight of engineering contractor (including hydraulics, riser design, assistance with Environmental Impact Assessment, oversight of preparation of specifications, and preparation of permit applications)

- Engage field personnel to get their active involvement in the design process and evolution of system operating guidelines - Lead qualification testing programs, HAZOPS, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT)

- Develop a preventative maintenance program detailing required activities, timing, and responsibilities

- Interface with other project teams to progress the standardization initiative where it adds value to the projects

- Participate in development, execution and application of riser technology development programs

- Provide leadership in demonstrating commitment to our safety policy of No accidents, No harm to people, and No harm to the environment Seasoned professional position requiring a Bachelors degree and 5-7 years experience

Senior Subsea Engineer

Petroplan are assisting a major operator within the Oil & Gas sector in their search for a Senior Subsea Engineer to work on a contract basis.

The Senior Subsea Engineer will report to the Subsea Team leader and is responsible for engineering, planning and execution of subsea projects either from MODU's and LWI vessels or in support of deliverables. This will include working with the following equipment: completion landing strings, open water & riser-based intervention systems, subsea trees, control systems, and associated equipment; as well as completions equipment related to providing access to the well during light well intervention activities and subsea capping & containment preparedness.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Coach and mentor subsea engineers to deliver scope as well as personal and technical development
  • Lead HAZID / HAZOP sessions as required to ensure safe execution of subsea activity
  • Lead well design and construction input as it relates to subsea scope
  • Define and deliver equipment operational requirements, including all interfaces between rig/vessel, vendors and tooling.

Subsea Controls Engineer

The objective of the Subsea Controls Engineer is to supply reliable subsea controls systems. This will require the team to identify the gaps and develop a plan for closing the gaps between current technology and the technology and equipment required to deliver subsea controls systems around the world. The Subsea Controls Engineer position is individually responsible for specification, monitoring engineering and verifying qualification of subsea controls systems. A successful Subsea Controls Engineer will work as a key member of the Subsea Controls Team and will be responsible for all aspects of engineering delivery ie project engineering, scope management, schedule, interfaces with and change control, Technical Assurance, and Risk Management. A successful Subsea Controls Engineer will be required to work closely with the requisite Regional and Project Teams to ensure that the equipment developed is fit for purpose and acceptable to the final end users

A successful candidate could work on a wide range of activities from delivery, systems, aftermarket, and site coordination.

Experience with subsea controls equipment and subsea production equipment including trees, connectors, casing hangers, tubing hangers, running tools and operation of the equipment offshore.

Ability to lead quality control, quality assurance.

Basic training in metallurgy and welding.
