Opportunity for Development Geologist

We are currently looking for a Development Geologist/Geomodeller for a 1 year rolling contract based in the Netherlands.
The candidate needs to have a strong technical Geology background with experience in modelling studies, as well as a solid understanding of the regional geology. Responsibilities of the role may include carrying out geological evaluations, preparing field appraisals and mentoring junior members of staff.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • MSc or PhD in Geology or Petroleum Engineering.
  • 10 years' experience, with experience in operated ventures.
  • Strong background in Geology with significant geomodelling experience.
  • Candidate must have North Sea experience
  • Expert level user of Petrel.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Senior Reservoir Engineer

Opportunity for a Senior Reservoir Engineer

We are currently searching for a Senior Reservoir Engineer with 5-15 years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry. The candidate needs to have a strong background in Reservoir Simulation and Management. The role will require the candidate to perform integrated reservoir studies and contribute to the preparation and execution of the Field Development Plans to maximise oil production.

Candidate Requirements:

  • MSc. or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 5 to 15 years' experience on the following, depending on experience quality;
  • Experience in building 3D dynamic simulations models.
  • Experience in support of field development planning and uncertainty analysis.
  • Experience in development well planning and execution (including high angle / horizontal wells).
  • Experience in Waterflood expected, EOR would be a plus.
  • Experience in reserves calculation and general reservoir engineering reporting.
  • Some operational experience (production, well testing, stimulation etc.).
  • Middle-East experience would be considered a plus but not essential.

  • Teamwork: Good team player and capable of working effectively in a multicultural office environment to ensure information transfer within the organisation.
  • Attention to Detail and Quality: Ensuring data and interpretation integrity is a core responsibility.

Primary Purpose of the Job
Responsible for looking after our client's commercial interests. Embedded in a complex range of existing fiscal and shareholding agreements, related to their non-operated oil fields (the "Assets"), using effective asset management commercial processes. The incumbent has single point commercial accountability for the Assets, and acts as the primary contact for external parties.

Main Accountabilities

  1. Asset Commercial oversight: Ensure an effective regular internal asset commercial review process is implemented. Identify, report and recommend solutions for material non-compliance issues to the Assistant Manager, Oil Commercial, including advice on the commercial impact and / or risks of such non-compliance. Prepare periodic reports capturing the commercial performance and profitability of the assigned areas. Review drafts of WP&B submitted by the JVs, challenge assumptions, and assimilate our client's main objectives and expectations;
  2. Focal Point: Participate in commercial meetings and presentations arranged by operators and IOC partners. Communicate our client's position on strategies, initiatives, solutions to conflicts and issues, business proposals and opportunities for enhancing the returns from the Assets. Act as the focal point for all commercial matters with external stakeholders;
  3. New Initiatives and Dispute Resolution: Identify and evaluate asset enhancement concepts / initiatives, synergies, risks and commercial disputes. Lead the development and running of economic models to accurately study such matters. Participate in the related negotiations, help draft amendments or new agreements, and follow-up on the implementation of such agreements;
  4. Knowledge Database & Monitoring Systems: Ensure an effective management information system for monitoring the performance of the Assets, including collection, storage and analysis of all pertinent data, key value drivers and KPIs. Ensure that economic models are in place for forecasting and verification of actual results;


Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, sciences, or related discipline from an accredited university, preferably in petroleum engineering. Related postgraduate qualification (MSc. or MBA) is advantageous;
  • Minimum 12 years work experience in various petroleum engineering disciplines, with expertise in commercial aspects of the upstream oil and gas business and knowledge of asset management, business development, and negotiations.
  • Requires strong leadership, organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, financial, economic skills as well as ability to work in multi-cultural environment and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English.

Petroplan is currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic Oil & Gas company based in Denver, CO looking to add a Senior Reservoir Engineer to their subsurface team. Prospective candidates must have extensive unconventional shale play experience in multiple resource plays in the United States. This opening will likely be office based with the occasional travel to the field as needed.
Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate well economics for new drilling opportunities and valuations for leasing
  • Generating and managing auditing of the companies SEC reserves reporting
  • Perform reservoir surveillance to monitor well performance and make recommendations to optimize well performance and field development accordingly
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment with great communication skills
  • Evaluate well spacing and impacts on EUR's using empirical data and RTA
  • Assist in mentoring of less experienced engineers


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Sr. Reservoir Engineer
  • Bachelor's Degree: Master's Degree is preferable
  • Unconventional horizontal experience
  • Proficient skills in the following softwares; Aries, Spotfire, RTA, Peep
  • Exposure to field operations, production and drilling activities
  • Experience in project level technical and economic evaluations
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the USA with no sponsorship required
