JOB SUMMARY
Perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations e.g. visual, dimensional, functional, and non-destructive techniques, to make necessary critical observations, tests, or completing appropriate documentation as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform inspections on components.
Perform source inspections at facilities.
Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
Review inspection records received for compliance.
Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR?s) for nonconforming parts.

Facility Specific Responsibilities:
Operate inspection machines and read the results of the tests.
Interpret the results of tests per the appropriate SOP.
Maintain daily log books.
Write testing procedures when applicable.
Verify certifications from vendors.
Comply with all departmental rules.
Maintain measurement and test equipment as required.
Utilize a wide variety of measurement and test equipment.
Find and evaluate NDE findings per the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure.

Under direct supervision, performs functional testing and routine testing/analyzing using defined and well documented/proven procedures of individual electronic circuits or Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). Exercises some judgment in the diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic functional and environmental testing, of existing electrical and/or electronic equipment. Through reliability training, becomes aware of reliability and safety issues. Complies with HSE and Service Quality requirements. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in a related field of science or through 2 years experience working in a related technician, manufacturing, and/or military equivalent role.

Wind & Composite Field Technician

Petroplan is currently accepting applications for a Wind & Composite Field Technician to join a well known Oil & Gas company. Prospective candidates will be responsible for providing blade integrity, inspection and repair expertise. Areas of impact will include inspection programs and techniques, repair design, planning and strategy, standard development and much more.
This position is a DIRECT hire role and is located in the Corpus Christi area
Qualifications:
  • 7 years of wind industry OR related composite experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of wind turbines blade repair standards and methods
  • Demonstrated blade internal and external inspection skills. Understanding of advanced inspection technologies considered a plus
