Downhole Tools Electrical Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Our client is a Norwegian headquartered, dynamic oil and gas service organization, who is looking to expand their Houston based team by bringing on an experienced Electrical Engineer.

Downhole Tools Electrical Engineer Job Description:

  • Key responsibilities for this position would include: designing and simulations of their new oil well tool.
  • Responsible providing expertise in Analog, Digital Electronics and Signal Processing
  • Review various concepts and requirements of existing technology and tools and how they integrate with new tools being designed
  • Follow various developmental process and proper database documentation
  • Tools that they are designing, include: high voltage generators, X-Ray tubes, radiation detectors, heavy formation blocks and casing sections.

Downhole Tools Electrical Engineer Job Requirements:

  • Must have no less than a Masters' Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent
  • Must have no less than 5 years' of experience
  • Proficient in Electrical Engineering tools
  • Oil and Gas industry experience is required
  • Knowledge of well-logging tools is strongly preferred

Our client is one of the world's largest oil field service companies and is looking to hire a dedicated Test Technician for their team. The ideal candidate will have working experience successfully testing motors, pumps and seals.

Test Technician Job Description

  • Test new and used equipment including seals, motors and pumps
  • Identify problems and communicate issues to the testing manager
  • This position will train new Test Shop Operators
  • Perform initial maintenance checks through appropriate processes
  • Must understand all lines (and brands) of equipment (motors, seals, or pumps), using proper processes and procedures
  • Through experience, looks for repeatability in successive tests. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations
  • Skills are typically acquired through successful completion of high school or similar education and 2 years of experience
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines

Summary:

The mechanic is responsible for the mechanical workings of all vehicles and ensures operational readiness of equipment and vehicles by performing preventive maintenance.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures
  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner
  • Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance work - Oil changes, Light vehicle maintenance
  • Mechanics need to meet all company, DOT, and government standards with equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Responsible for communication with shop supervisor on equipment readiness
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Actively support monitor and adhere to all objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Field Mechanics are required to keep proper inventory of parts
  • Other duties as assigned

Competency Requirements:
