Petroplan are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work for one of our clients, a mid-sized EPC within the petro-chem industry.

Job Overview:

The Project manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization and clients. The Project Manager will be in charge of schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables for project. Monitors teams to make sure goals and objectives are being kept.

Duties / Responsibilities:

* Identify and establish relationships with strategically important clients
* Coordinate completion of ongoing services and also identify and develop opportunities to grow work scope
* Lead the development of proposals for new scope of work and change orders to address scope growth in existing projects
* Development and implementation of Project Management systems that will become a part of the Company International offering to clients
* "Hands-on" involvement in management of strategically important projects, including:

o Drive project ownership and accountability through seamless progression of project execution responsibilities including project plan estimate and schedule development gate approval, detail engineering, contracting/procurement, field execution mechanical completion, facility start up, operation turn over, and project close outs
o Full oversight and management of projects with a focus on safety, design quality, budget, schedule, and change management process compliance
o Compliance to all client specs as part of project development and detailed engineering activities
o Contractor management and performance oversight to ensure scope expectations are achieved (Engineering / Construction)
o Full compliance to capital projects work processes and procedures
o Execution alignment with project development and project controls groups
o Interface between project group and business units to support progression and completion of business team related project deliverable s
o Regular project updates to support monthly / quarterly project stewardship reports
o Driving quality of execution deliverable s in all project development / execution stages per client quality process
o Overall development and ownership of field quality execution plan to support construction activities

Skills / Experience:

* 15 years of experience in related role
* Strong project management experience, preferably in the petrochemical, refining and oil / gas sector
* Previous EPC/EPCM experience is required
* Multi-discipline experience: knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines (process, civil/structural, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, piping)
* Working knowledge of planning and control methods
* General understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria
* Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniques
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Strong organizational, leadership and teamwork skills

Petroplan are seeking an experienced SmartPlant P&ID Deisgner to work for one of our clients, a mid-sized EPC within the petro-chem industry.

Job Overview:

The SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) Administrator / Designer will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of SmartPlant P&ID. This role requires a global perspective and may include global/cross-office responsibility in the functional level of expertise. The SmartPlant P&ID Administrator will participate in the development of P&ID's, system requirements, specifications, system designs and ensuring that quality support is provided for SmartPlant P&ID. This person will perform their own work in addition to providing assistance and training to others.

Duties / Responsibilities:

* Install the SmartPlant P&ID software and all related software updates/patches
* Aid with technical requirements gathering, client meetings and implementing new SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) build
* Maintain the SPPID reference database for projects including transfers, reports, MTO downloads, data integrity, including the customization of reports as per project requirements
* Trouble-shoot and solve P&ID problems to ensure project integrity
* Develop detailed project work instructions for users
* SPPID Administration including creating symbology, filters, reports, system maintenance
* Produce setup documentation detailing the SPPID setup
* Produce SPPID operation manual

* 3-5 years' experience in providing engineering design application support in the LNG, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical Industry
* Experience with SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Instrumentation or SmartPlant Foundation an asset.
* Good knowledge and concept of drafting standards used in engineering industry
* Piping design experience with plot plan development, piping layouts, and 3D design will be considered an asset
* Strong aptitude for project planning and implementation of new design software
* CAD proficient in AutoCAD, and Microstation
* Knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL queries will be considered as an asset
* Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines
* Has attended Intergraph Certified SPIID Administration and User Training Courses
* Has the ability to effectively conduct training sessions to new users
* Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support

Petroplan is seeking an intermediate-level Process Engineer for our client, a major downstream/LNG engineering consultancy firm based in Houston.
The Process Engineering, intermediate level candidate, will support various team members and clients through all phases of a project. Responsibilities will involve using standard process design and process simulation tools for facilities modifications, additions, etc. and to technically determine solutions in sufficient detail to determine cost, verify operability, HSSE compliance and provide equipment and material specifications to the other engineering disciplines. It is essential that candidates are self-driven, have demonstrated multi-tasking ability, and can effectively work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process design support for a variety of EPC projects.
  • Performing process computer simulations including heat & mass balance calculations, preparation of process flow diagrams and P&ID's to establish fluid flow circuits and required process controls, scope definition and front-end studies.
  • Performing various process design calculations including line sizing, hydraulics, equipment sizing, PSV sizing & flare system hydraulics.
  • Provide input to instrumentation and control data sheets, line designations tables, material selections, equipment list for cost estimation, plot plan process inputs, plant classification, hazardous area classifications, constructability reviews, maintainability & operability reviews.
  • Ensure that acceptable HSSE standards are met during project execution.

  • Ensures that all design documents and deliverables produced by process are:
  • meeting all governing codes, standards, regulations, procedures and practices; subject to quality assurance before release to other disciplines; and reviewed by other disciplines affected by process deliverables.
  • Ensures that process correctly reviews and comments on other discipline design documents and deliverables, which affect quality and timeliness of process work.


Key proficiencies/education and experience requirements:

  • Chemical engineering degree (B.Eng.) from a recognized university.
  • 5-10 years process design experience in Oil & Gas industry.
  • EPC company experience required.
  • Operating and /or site experience is preferred.
  • Skilled in computer process simulations, process conceptual design, detailed engineering.
  • Skilled with standard computer process simulation tool set (HySys, Pro II, Aspen Plus, HTRI) including Excel and Word.
  • Solid working knowledge of codes, standards and practices including ASME, API, ANSI, NFPA, NACE and ASTM.
  • HAZOP facilitation experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

The Document Management Associate is primarily responsible for performing Document Management (DM) and Records Management (RM) activities for various LNG Projects as assigned by the Information Management Supervisor and/or Project Director. The Document Management Associate will also process project records and contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with project policies/protocols, coordinate the capture, preservation, and organization of project records, and administrate project document repositories and third-party document management systems.

  • Administration and maintenance of project documents in the Document Management System(s) (DMS) for LNG & Midstream construction projects, commercial development projects, and other project initiatives.
  • Coordinates new user account creation and configures appropriate access to project information repositories.

Job Overview
The rotating equipment supervisor will lead mechanical maintenance resources to cost-effectively maintain the rotating equipment used to operate a petrochemical production facility. Personnel safety, environmental protection, and the reliable operations of the plant to achieve production targets will be among the Rotating Equipment Supervisor's key responsibilities.
Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the budget and the execution schedule of the rotating equipment team.
  • Effectively manage capital projects work that is assigned to the maintenance department
  • Ensures all work is completed safely and cost effectively to achieve the required quality and schedule
  • Manages the day to day work within the plant area
  • Implements the maintenance program within the plant area

Job Overview
The Rotating Equipment Engineer - Reliability will be responsible for providing rotating equipment reliability strategies and systems and engineering advice to allow the maintenance department to cost effectively achieve plant availability and reliability requirements. The Rotating Equipment Engineer - Reliability will also be responsible for the compliance with all relevant and statutory legislation, and will be required to meet the requirements of all internal standards and procedures.
Responsibilities

  • Works under general direction from the reliability supervisor and is responsible for performing detailed reliability studies and detailed calculations of component/system reliability
  • Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes
  • Maintains lifecycle evaluations of mechanical equipment in order to proactively determine, in a timely fashion, opportunities for dealing with equipment obsolescence
  • Acquires data and analyzes the data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports for defining reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability required for the particular situation considering the cost limitations for equipment
  • Determines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures
  • Considers impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting reliability problems on installed equipment
  • Design, review and modify the preventative maintenance program focused on rotating equipment
  • Facilitates investigation to determine root cause of failure for all serious, major and potentially major reliability incidents
  • Develops and maintains equipment repair, inspection, construction and selection standards


Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mechanical engineering preferred; or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 10 years' experience in the petrochemical or related industry preferred.
  • 10 years' experience with large rotating equipment (>25,000 Kw) preferred.
  • 5 years maintenance experience preferred.

Petroplan is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for our client, a major operator based south of Houston. Candidates with strong experience working in petrochemical, refining, and/or LNG facilities are preferred.
Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure the safe and reliable operation of on-site electrical equipment. The complexity of the electrical power systems in both the LQF and PTF plants requires the availability of high level technical expertise on short notice to understand unfolding events, explain them to operations and maintenance personnel, and to supervise the repairs/restarting of problematic electrical equipment.
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all static electrical equipment reliability
  • Learn operations of all facility processes and equipment
  • Assist facility personnel with operational and maintenance problems
  • Perform advanced equipment troubleshooting
  • Apply electrical engineering principles to evaluate electrical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs
  • Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and testing properties
  • Develop electrical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements
  • Research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
  • Confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations

Required SkillsSkill Level

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • MS in Electrical Engineering with experience in high voltage processes (preferred)
  • 10 years' experience in plant reliability engineering
  • 5-7 years' experience in planned and unplanned maintenance scheduling
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills - including root cause failure/analysis
  • Knowledge and experience working with electrical harmonics, harmonic filters, non-linear loads, and high/medium voltage electrical power systems
  • Knowledge and experience in the application and programming of protective relays, with a focus on Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories equipment, illumination, methods, luminary types and calculations, grounding, ground potential rise and static bonding, and the National Electrical Code
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E; Safety in Design, and Safety in the field
  • Control Engineering with production planning and job knowledge
  • Ability to develop and lead the MOC process
  • Permitting work, incident reporting, confined space entry, energy isolation
  • Strong general consulting and planning skills
  • Experience in reading and understanding P&ID & PFD drawings and instrument & electrical drawings
  • Understanding of vendor/equipment supplied data sheets
  • Active learner and a self-starter/motivated
  • Trouble-shooting/analytical skills
  • Effective communications, good presentation skills, strong computer skills, SAP experience, MS, and budget management experience

Job Overview
This position provides project support and/or discipline support for various projects by researching, specifying, developing, designing, engineering and supporting construction of fire and gas detection and suppression systems. Individuals are expected to apply engineering principles, methods and techniques to the project assignments. The role will be heavily involved in the design of Downstream / LNG Facilities.
Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Works with clients to develop a project's scope of work, estimates, and/or schedules.
  • Reviews and approves project drawings, standards and specifications.
  • Develops major equipment, material selection, and construction specifications.
  • Reviews codes and client specifications.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Directs and coordinates construction, installation, fabrication and/or operational testing activities to ensure services, products and/or systems conform to engineering design and client criteria.
  • Ensures that all assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes, regulations and laws.
  • Evaluates field installations and applies codes and client specifications to project design.
  • Coordinates activities with other project disciplines involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation or repair of various materials, products or systems.
  • Provides technical direction, support and information to other specialists, engineers, designers and drafters.
  • Identifies changes to scope, estimates cost and schedule impacts; presents to project management for approval.
  • Consistently demonstrates professional skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, communications, operational efficiencies, handling of a client's changing needs, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the fire protection field, 10 years experience preferred.
  • Experienced in PHAST and LNG Fire 3 modeling experience required
  • EIT in Fire Protection, Licensed FPE preferred, Texas P. Eng. desirable.
  • LNG Industry or petrochemical project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Petro-Chem facilities - LNG experience a plus

Job Overview

The Snr Process Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and daily operations support, as well as troubleshooting processes. The role will be heavily involved in the design of Downstream / LNG Facilities .This position recommends, develops, and implements improvements to streamline and advance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design / engineering of LNG facilities.
  • Provide daily process monitoring and troubleshooting of the plant processes.
  • Manage medium to large projects and provide engineering design.
  • Optimize daily unit operations, which includes monitoring operating costs, product yields, catalyst activity, chemical usage, and energy utilization.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement processes and/or projects aimed at improving unit yields or energy utilization.
  • Partner with Environmental, Operations, and Safety Departments during all phases of project development and execution.
  • Conduct Hazard and Operability study reviews and fulfill other Management of Change requirements.
