Our client, an emerging Operator within the Oil & Gas Industry, has a requirement for an experienced Operations Manager with a focus on Downstream / LNG Projects.
The role will be initially based in Houston, TX however require frequent visits to Project Sites both domestically and internationally.


Job Overview
This role will be an integral part of the Snr Leadership Team and will be at the forefront of the development and execution of a Major Petro-Chemical facility.
The Operations manager develops, implement, administers and maintains operations best practices and procedures according to company guidelines. This position partners with multiple functions such as E&C, finance modelling, permitting, safety, corporate IT to perform technical reviews, provide philosophies.


Roles/Responsibilities

  • Manage vendors and contractors to assure value delivery of contracted services and to develop solutions to complex business problems.
  • Management of Operations experience, with directly related and demonstrated supervisory experience in LNG or other similar or compatible gas processing facilities.


Experience / Education

  • Recognized Engineering qualification (Degree preferred), with extensive project operations skills
  • Minimum of 10 x years experience within the energy / oil & gas industry
  • Minimum of 10 x years experience within LNG / Gas Processing Operations
  • Strong business, technical and project management skills to conceptualize, recommend, design, and implement operations solutions in a timely manner. Proficient in project management tools, methodologies, and technical platforms.
  • Understanding LNG or Oil and Gas business operations and processes: terminal operations, maintenance management, procurement and logistics, field activities, energy market activities, pipeline operations, financial services, human resources, measurement collecting.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience on distributed control and logic systems, SIS, ESD, Gas and fire detection system

Staff Accountant Job Description:

  • Raise sales invoices to customers in accounting system. Distribute invoices to customers through required channels
  • Process purchase invoices (both materials and overheads) within the accounting system
  • Enter bank transactions into accounting system
  • Perform credit control procedures with customers to ensure timely collection of cash
  • Process credit card statements and associated costs into the accounting system
  • Raise payment runs for materials suppliers and overhead costs, and taxes as necessary
  • Process all journal entries into the accounting system to ensure completeness of accounting records
  • Maintain inter-company accounts and reconcile with PJV UK accounts team on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile general ledger to any other finance systems used (Metalsmith) to ensure consistency of information
  • Maintain appropriate fixed asset register, and accruals and prepayment accounts in general ledger to ensure appropriate treatment of items for accounting purposes

Responsible for establishing, developing, and managing the health, environmental, and safety (HSE) programs. Identifies and mitigates HSE risks in support of business performance and reliability goals. Provides regulatory expertise to strategize and maximize company position within safety, health, and environmental economic programs and interact with regulatory officials. Coordinates environmental, health, PSM, security and safety programs with an emphasis placed on identification and communication of regulatory requirements to facility personnel.


HSE Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop HSE strategies and mitigation plans which are consistent with business performance, regulatory requirements and reliability.
  • Assess the safety culture and develops strategies to monitor and continuously improve the overall HSE culture. Drives HSE strategy, continuous improvement initiative and HSE culture that aligns with in HSE practices in the business.
  • Directs, conducts and participates in HSE site assessments by HSE team members to ensure compliance with policies and practices
  • Ensures through audits that HSE programs have been implemented across the business and sites. Works closely with Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure effective implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures

HSE Director Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in HSE, Engineering, Industrial Safety or related HSE discipline
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is highly preferred
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience with safety and environmental programs in a chemical, refinery, water treatment facility.
  • Must be familiar with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
  • Requires a high degree of professionalism.
  • Requires the ability to work well independently and effectively with others, on a daily basis.
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Must be able to develop innovative and creative ways to drive the HSE culture throughout the business while maintaining high levels of compliance.
  • Prior experience as the Senior HSE manager involving multiple sites preferred
  • Highly proficient in the development of strategies, objectives and plans to achieve short and long term objectives for the department

  • APEGA Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree considered an asset
  • Equivalent trade or ASET certification and experience will be considered
  • Strong background from working in either Petrochemicals / Pulp & Paper or a Refinery
  • Clear and deep understanding of maintenance best practices is essential
  • Demonstrated project management experience and successful completion of projects
  • Experience with maintenance inspections and maintenance strategy standards required
  • Eligible to work and live in Canada - No Sponsorship
