Our client in Oman is looking for a Logistics and Services Manager to work on ongoing oil and gas projects

The logistics manager will work in the disciplines of field logistics, field camps and transportation services as well as the management of staff turnaround accommodation in Muscat.

The primary responsibilities of the role are to actively lead, inspire and foster a professional oilfield logistics operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The logistics manager will liaise with Operations Director and Head of Production on operational issues.
  • Study current logistics operation process and procedures and design information systems and reporting solutions to help logistics operation run more efficiently and effectively.
  • Recommend process improvements based on report data; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
  • Develop and implement department Policies, Procedures and operational and safety manuals and maintain them and ensure that all activities are within national or local legislation and comply with company guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide all team members with clearly defined and documented accountabilities. Set performance standards, goals and objectives which are aligned with their performance contracts and reward mechanisms.
  • Provide technical support to the worksite team; as an example, during the planning and execution of complex lifting operations and during critical/unusual operations.
  • Responsible for the HSE of Field Logistics Support, Field camps ( /- 800 occupants), Muscat Support, Transport Vehicles, and the Journey Management operations.
  • Responsible for the contract management of (4) or more major contracts.
  • Ensure that equipment and procedures are in place to deal with emergencies and unexpected incidents and exercise leadership and judgment in dealing with emergencies.
  • Responsible for developing and managing field logistics and camp services budgets, follow budgeting guidelines, identify and bring about necessary changes to reduce costs and to improve work programmes and effectiveness without sacrificing quality or productivity.
  • Help enhance the career development of the personnel in the department by providing guidance, tuition and support. Liaise with Operations Director regarding career development for engineers in Drilling Operations.
  • Responsible to meet KPI's for the Logistics and Services department.
  • Liaise and manage daily interface between logistics and all other stakeholder departments; production, drilling, well intervention, projects and supply chain.
  • Responsible for the overall safety and security of the field logistics services. Conduct regular safety meetings with the field management, sharing lessons learnt from incident reviews and leading indicators. Lead Incident Free drive for the operations and conduct a quarterly safety meeting with logistics contractors.
  • Assesses the businesses financial and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks
  • Conduct regular visits to the field to ensure that contractors are executing the work safely
  • Develops scopes of work for tendering, evaluates, and recommends contractors for awarding. Sourcing, tendering, and contracting, mobilization and management of equipment and materials used in drilling and well intervention.
  • Prepare Work Plan, Leads quarterly KPI reviews and annual operation planning.
  • Continuously learns and applies updated logistics techniques and adapt to changing logistics landscapes, keeping up with current trend and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The logistic manager will hold a relevant degree; preferable is a post graduate qualification in Logistics Management.
  • Preferable also to be an active member of the Oman Logistics Association/ Chartered Institute of Logistics in Oman.
  • Hold NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum.
  • Must have no less than 10 years' relevant filed logistics experience in the oil industry.
  • Ability to lead a multidiscipline team of internal/external technical experts and services and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments and officials
  • Fluent in English Language (Speaking, reading, and writing) to effectively interact with multiple levels and functions within the organization.
  • Must be experienced in using ERP system and familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Technical knowledge of oil standards & practices including standards in Oman & GCC.
  • Must coordinate the work of several departments to make organization run efficiently.
  • Use statistical analysis and other data treatment methods to analysis information and develop practical solutions to business problems.

The reliability engineer;

  • Ensures high level of plant equipment reliability by carrying our regular study of problems/difficulties and failures of the systems/equipment and produces recommendations for improvement to prevent such problems.

A leading oil and gas client require a lead mechanical technician to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance intervention taking into account business need of uninterrupted gas supply to Dubai clients as well as HSE and budget constraints

The mechanical technician will coordinate and perform the day to day maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment at Gas Control Station, Liquefied Natural Gas pipelines and surrounding offsite pipelines
Oversee the activities of company employees and contracted technicians

Key Result Areas


Coordinate the activities of mechanical technicians, providing work instructions, advise and guidance. Working as a job site leader to coordinate with other leaders. Receive incoming work requests, discuss work required with the mechanical supervisor, estimate time, materials or spare parts required to complete the work, receive schedule of repairs with appropriate permit to work and arrange for tools and test equipment etc.


Responsible for servicing, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipment including, but not limited to:


Turbo-expander/ compressor packages, Diesel generators, Air compressors, Marine gas loading/ unloading arms, Hydraulic gangways, Capstans and mooring hooks, Hydraulic Pumps and systems.


Complete site repairs of mechanical equipment, including: stripping down units, change and replacement of parts and testing equipment, Identify requirements for consumable supplies, tools and equipment to aid the efficient and effective onshore operation.


Ensure that shift handovers are communicated effectively and that standards, procedures and written instructions are understood and adhered to at all times.


Carry out all activities in accordance with Company safety procedures and manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring that all precautions are taken to isolate equipment prior to commencing work.


Complete work orders with details of maintenance or repairs carried out.
Record faults diagnosed, materials and man hour used to complete the work.
Ensure that critical drawings are used and maintained correctly.


Assist in major shutdown and overhaul work, which includes, but is not limited to; the dismantling, testing of mechanical equipment including Turbo-expanders, Compressor, Pumps and Engines. Review history on mechanical breakdowns or trips and identify areas for continuous improvement to Mechanical Supervisor.


Ensure that the mechanical system and equipment is installed, tested, pre-commissioned and commissioned according to Company requirements
Conduct on the job, in house training on various systems to elevate technical knowledge and skill of technicians.
Identify the requirements for level-1 or level-2 Risk Assessments and participate in the RA meetings. Write detailed Job Safety Analysis for each Corrective Maintenance Job.
Assist other trades and disciplines as required within the limits and capability of experience.
Write basic lift plans and perform rigging and slinging duties.


Participate in Company STOP Safety Programmes
Perform Emergency Response Role as appointed by the Company
Coordinate and carry out the complex fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of Mechanical equipment (valves, turbo-expanders, compressors, marine gas arms, hydraulic gangways, diesel engines, pumps etc.) in the assigned areas.
Perform technical craft specific corrective maintenance work that is sometimes conducted by an integrated team of Operations and Electrical and instrument to resolve problems. Identify requirements for major repair, replacement and/ or workshop reconditioning work to be carried out at Jebel Ali Operations Support Base. Update preventive maintenance records.

Knowledge/ Skills

Educational Qualifications


Completion of first years of secondary education
3 years diploma or apprenticeship in the mechanical trade (equivalent to UK, City and Guilds/ National Vocational Qualification or Ordinary National Certificate)

Experience Profile


4-5 years varied installation mechanical technician maintenance and repair experience in an industrial environment, ideally within the Oil and Gas/ Petrochemical industry.

Working knowledge of computer applications such as Office/ CMMS systems (Oracle)

Strong written/ spoken English.

After the Mechanical Completion:

  • Responsible to provide support services to Maintenance Division and to advice the less experienced engineer in the divisions.
  • The advisors work very close with the engineering staff to convey their advice to all relative staff.
  • Advice for resolving problems in corrosion control and materials performance affecting the refinery process and utilities units.
  • Assist to interface with refinery personnel and assist to provide expert advice and front line technical support for maintenance and operation on all corrosion control activities throughout the refinery.
  • Assist to monitor corrosion within the refinery units and provide recommendations periodically to minimize/control the corrosion rate.
  • Assist to evaluate the effectiveness of the corrosion inhibitors in the refinery and assist the refinery in benchmarking the corrosion control practices with other practices used in the industry.
  • Assist to perform corrosion failure investigations and special corrosion related studies.
  • Assist to review corrosion mitigation and monitor activities in the field to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.
  • Assist to initiate and conduct special studies to minimize/control the corrosion in the refinery units to improve the facilities operation.
  • Guide, direct and motivate the less experienced engineers and operators including setting education and training and assessing their performance in association with their superior and the Human Resources Section.

Job Overview:

The Project manager will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization and clients. The Project Manager will be in charge of schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables for project. Monitors teams to make sure goals and objectives are being kept.

Duties / Responsibilities:

* Identify and establish relationships with strategically important clients
* Coordinate completion of ongoing services and also identify and develop opportunities to grow work scope
* Lead the development of proposals for new scope of work and change orders to address scope growth in existing projects
* Development and implementation of Project Management systems that will become a part of the Company International offering to clients
* "Hands-on" involvement in management of strategically important projects, including:

Skills / Experience:

* 15 years of experience in related role
* Strong project management experience, preferably in the petrochemical, refining and oil / gas sector
* Previous EPC/EPCM experience is required
* Multi-discipline experience: knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines (process, civil/structural, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, piping)
* Working knowledge of planning and control methods
* General understanding of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria
* Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniques
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Strong organizational, leadership and teamwork skills

Petroplan are seeking an experienced SmartPlant P&ID Deisgner to work for one of our clients, a mid-sized EPC within the petro-chem industry.

Job Overview:

The SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) Administrator / Designer will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of SmartPlant P&ID. This role requires a global perspective and may include global/cross-office responsibility in the functional level of expertise. The SmartPlant P&ID Administrator will participate in the development of P&ID's, system requirements, specifications, system designs and ensuring that quality support is provided for SmartPlant P&ID. This person will perform their own work in addition to providing assistance and training to others.

Duties / Responsibilities:

* Install the SmartPlant P&ID software and all related software updates/patches
* Aid with technical requirements gathering, client meetings and implementing new SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) build
* Maintain the SPPID reference database for projects including transfers, reports, MTO downloads, data integrity, including the customization of reports as per project requirements
* Trouble-shoot and solve P&ID problems to ensure project integrity
* Develop detailed project work instructions for users
* SPPID Administration including creating symbology, filters, reports, system maintenance
* Produce setup documentation detailing the SPPID setup
* Produce SPPID operation manual
* Follow department and client drafting methods and standards
* Create auditing requirements and checking for quality assurance of the design effort
* Maintain and verify daily backup routines
* Help develop automation enhancements
* Design accurate system drawings, in a given time period, adjusting to project requirements
* Development of corporate P&ID templates, Lead Sheets, and Specifications
* Drafting and development of project P&ID's, PFD's
* Prepare database for client turnover
* Provide SmartPlant P&ID user training

Skills / Experience:
* Hexagon (Intergraph) Certified SmartPlant P&ID Designer/System Administrator is preferred
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in the use, administration, and support of SPPID
* 3-5 years' experience in providing engineering design application support in the LNG, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical Industry
* Experience with SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Instrumentation or SmartPlant Foundation an asset.
* Good knowledge and concept of drafting standards used in engineering industry
* Piping design experience with plot plan development, piping layouts, and 3D design will be considered an asset
* Strong aptitude for project planning and implementation of new design software
* CAD proficient in AutoCAD, and Microstation
* Knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL queries will be considered as an asset
* Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must have to effectively work with the engineering disciplines
* Has attended Intergraph Certified SPIID Administration and User Training Courses
* Has the ability to effectively conduct training sessions to new users
* Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support
