Job Title Instrument Technician

Role Provide quality maintenance activities like IPF testing, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment as per the plan or otherwise necessary.

Qualification HND or Diploma in relative discipline or its equivalent. Alternatively, a trade test witnessed by COMPANY discipline Engineer.
Experience More than 6 years' experience in the oil and gas or power generation industries with a minimum of 2 years in an Instrument Maintenance Technician position.

Job Skills
a. English Language read, write and speaking to IELTS level 3.
b. Able to work with computers, word, excel, and windows and good understanding of CMMS.
c. Able to understand Work Orders and discuss repair methods with supervision.
d. Able to use all standard instrument test equipment.
e. Can read and understand drawings, PFS, PEFS, Loop diagrams Instrument data sheets
f. Able to recognise flanges, gasket and bolt types, and types of tubing systems including compression fittings and be able to make off accordingly.
g. Have hand skills for bending tubes and fittings
h. Conversant with hazardous area equipment Personality Good interpersonal communication skill, problem solving skills, time management skills and work in harmony with co-workers.

Principal Responsibilities
a. Carry out routine maintenance of pressure, temperature, level and flow loops, including removal and reinstallation.
b. Assist in loop testing, function testing and commissioning of instrumentation loops.
c. Install all types of field instrumentation including the cabling, supports and stands, instrument impulse lines and connections to process with the minimum of supervision.
d. Perform tube bending; tube bending in groups; install instrument stands, instrument air headers, instruments, tube tray; screw pipe.
e. Install all types of field instrumentation including the cabling, supports and stands, instrument impulse lines and connections to process with the minimum of supervision.
f. Acquire PTW certificate and carry out all the responsibilities of PTW Holder.
g. Work extended hours and respond to call out duties as and when required

Our client, an EPC that works within the Renewables sector, are currently looking to hire a Process Engineer to join their team based in France (Residential) on an initial 12 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in the development of process deliverables such as PFD, P&ID, H&MB, design philosophies, calculation notes (control valves, safety valves, line sizing, tanks, expansion units, etc), line list, equipment datasheets, operating philosophies and procedures, operation and control narratives, design reports.
  • Experience in participation in safety reviews such HAZID and HazOp. Familiarity with input to FMECA and RAM.
  • Experience in using software for flow simulations such as Fathom or similar.

The job holder is responsible for assisting in aspects of contract planning, contract strategy development and risk assessment, contractor pre-qualification, issue of invitation to tender, tender evaluation, contract award recommendation, post-contract administration and contract close-out.

Job holder's work will include, but is not restricted to;

  • Identify potential bidders for goods and/or services required and prepare and execute contractor pre-qualification,
  • Prepare and act as a focal point for all Invitation to Tender discussions including proposed contract terms and conditions based on Company's Master Agreements or LOGIC model contracts, including remuneration, scope of work and other contract sections,
  • Prepare and undertake tender commercial evaluations post-receipt of tenders, draft and coordinate formal award recommendations and present to senior management,
  • Review of all commercial matters and correspondence submitted by contractors and provide advice and recommendations to project management team on their response,
  • Liaise with legal, insurance, finance, health safety and environment, quality management departments as required,
  • Contract management; provide regular reports and updates to the project team, line manager and senior company management together with irregular reports as requested,
  • Final account preparation and contract close out.


Qualifications & Experience:
The job holder must have:

  • Relevant engineering / technical / legal qualification
  • Maximum 10 years relevant experience in the international oil and gas industry.

This is a 1 year contract position.

The Field Cost Analyst will support:

  • Preparation of field cost reports assuming responsibility for their overall accuracy, completeness and timeliness; coordinating the cost analysis activities on one or more projects.
  • The development and maintenance of procedures and systems to achieve effective control of Maintenance Programs Canada and support the implementation of project control procedures and systems.
  • Liaison with project teams and clients on all matters relating to field cost and schedule development and control


Specific Accountabilities:

  • Review and understand the WBS and expand the WBS (as necessary for new programs) with the assistance from the Project Cost Analyst.
  • Review and understand the complete construction scope of work (Construction Work Packages).
  • Review and understand the Contract(s) Documents, which include General Conditions, Specifications, Addendums, Contract Provisions and Compensation requirements. The FCA will also review and understand contract budgets and schedule in relation to the "Agreed to Scope of Work".
  • Establish the construction tracking and control systems utilizing the templates provided in accordance to the project WBS and Contractor Interface and Reporting requirements.
  • Validate Contractor Score Cards and Schedule for earned value reporting for the project scope broken down by the WBS, and to update shift progress reports for PCA's in order to communicate to the Project Management Team.
  • Review with discipline specific inspectors to ensure that the progress reporting of the contractor(s) is accurate.
  • Ensure that all costs and hours accrued and incurred on the project are allocated to the correct budget (WBS) accounts.
  • Interface with the contractors to ensure accurate and timely submittal of daily LEM Sheets, Equipment & Third Party Log's, Shift Summaries, Progress Updates, Schedule Updates and earned value reports.
  • Review Daily LEM Sheets and other similar contractor submittals for agreed rates, and the correct WBS coding for the works performed.
  • Interface with the Inspectors that approve the Daily LEM Sheets, and other similar reports for the accuracy of the hours expended and agreed rates, as well as the resources itemized that they are an accurate reflection of the works taking place.
  • Ensure that all activities within the project schedule are updated (start and finish dates) and supported by the physical percentage of completed tasks based on the score cards, and agreed contractor performance values.

  • Verify change orders against contractual obligations and validate cost, schedule and resource impacts; monitor and analyze change order costs, hours and key quantities and report any variances. Ensure that all changes are integrated into the contractor's cost, schedule and progress reports.
  • Provide notification to PCA of potential Work Order or Contract Revisions.
  • Provide the Project Controls Analyst the contractor Estimate at Completion (EAC) values based on the collection of contractor information and reviews.
  • Complete Daily Site Walk Arounds to validate schedule activity starts & completions and claimed progress of work accomplished.
  • Support the identification & reporting of Cost and Schedule impacts and risk and support recovery planning / mitigation where necessary.
  • Ensure Field Project Closeout process is completed, including key quantities, hours and costs, and the completion of the Contractors Evaluation Report.


Required:

  • University degree in Engineering or Business; or Technical Diploma; or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Cost Engineer / Consultant (AACE International) designation (preferred) or Project Management Professional.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 - 7 years of on-site construction experience related to cost and scheduling controls of multi discipline projects.
  • Direct working experience Oil and Gas industry related experience is required.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and have a basic understanding of Primavera Scheduling Programs, or of Microsoft Project.
  • Industrial Construction experience, and interfaces with the Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution, and Commissioning phases of the project are highly desirable.
  • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal are required. The ability to adapt to site conditions and personnel is required.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload, bring issues forward and develop working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

  • Any formal training in regards to Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Controls, and Planning will be an asset
  • Occasional travel to offices and field sites in Canada as required

  2. Minimum 15 years of experience in oil and gas industry with at least 10 years in coastal/marine engineering.
  3. Atleast 5 years' experience as engineering lead and managing Engineering and EPC contractors to deliver engineering scope and technical assurance during construction specifically across coastal marine, pipeline & civil projects.
  4. Certified TA2 for coastal engineering or civil. Familiar with Shell DEP, DEM1, DEM2
  5. Experience in brownfield projects engineering and developing scope of work is a must.
  6. Experience in working on document management system like ASSAI.
