Long Term Contract

The Network Architect will be responsible for management and maintenance of the companies' IT LAN/WAN network environment and potentially Rig Network and Industrial Networks. It will include the participation in and oversight of the daily upkeep and administration of the companies' network infrastructure. This position will also be responsible for the design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the companies' network infrastructure and architecture.

The Role in more detail

  • Proactively monitor the IT network and Industrial network connectivity and work with various teams and vendors to resolve network issues promptly.
  • Ensure Network standards, guidelines and procedures are compliant with frequent auditing.
  • Review trend reports to evaluate where the bandwidth is being consumed and determine if rig bandwidth needs to be upgraded or eliminate unnecessary traffic.
  • Investigate network outages, high latency, and high utilization. This person will be able to read and interpret network performance statistics and suggest solutions for higher bandwidth utilization.
  • Ensure the security, integrity and compliance of the IT and Industrial Networks.
  • Responsible for daily operations of network engineering maintenance task with a proactive approach in solving problems.

What our client is looking for:

  • Electronic Technology / Electrical Engineering / Computer related degree preferred;
  • 4 years network engineering with both routing and switching
  • CCNP, CCDP, Network or equivalent (CCIE R&S Written and/or lab a plus)
  • Strong Network Architecture background in IT networks
  • Network Architecture experience with industrial control systems (a plus)
  • Good design experience with wire run, switches and routers covering distances measured in 100s of feet with different media
  • Understanding of Industrial Network technology (SCADA, Siemens, Rockwell Automation or ABB ICS) (a plus)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding and troubleshooting network issues over VSAT and other WAN technologies
  • Riverbed Steelhead administration and troubleshooting
  • Ability to configure routers and switches to secure specifications within a repeatable engineering processes
  • Be willing and able to be on call for emergencies

Completion Supervisor - Frac Consultant

Petroplan is currently recruiting for exceptional Completion Supervisors - Frac Consultants for urgent rotational openings in West Texas.
These positions involve working on a 2/2 rotation schedule, acting as the operator company rep at the well-site and being responsible for implementing the engineering plan in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for coordinating well-site operations and act as operator representative on site
  • Be knowledgeable of company safety and environmental policies and provide safe supervision of field operations
  • Work with engineering staff on completions, fracs & work-overs
  • Prepare daily reports utilizing company computer software
  • Evaluate frac jobs and provide feedback on completions to completions engineering team


Education/Experience Required

  • Expert knowledge and experience of completions operations with a particular emphasis on frac jobs
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience working for oil companies
  • Minimum of at least 10 years of prior oilfield experience, ideally including time spent at oilfield services companies
  • Previous experience in the Permian basin

Topsides Cost Control

Petroplan is actively recruiting for well-known Oil & Gas company looking to add an experienced Topside Cost Control professional. Prospective candidates must have prior experience working on major topside projects. This position will be located in Houston, TX and is a 1 year contract on a day rate with possibility of extension. The standard working hours are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on costs at various levels within the Topsides sub-area including by CTR, Engineering Work Package, Construction Work Package, and Contract.
  • Interface with Vendors and Scope Manager to ensure processes are followed for effective cost control.
  • Manage the Topsides Cost Control Dashboard; Aid in the development of a Cost Control System.
  • Develop Monthly Cost Reports for Senior Management that include Cost /Commitment/Cash status against Control Budget along with associate Forecast Curves.
  • Manage the various Cost Control Registers including Contingency, Purchase Order, CTR, etc.
  • Support the Change Management Process and drive other processes such as Service Tickets for effective Cost Stewardship.
  • Steward project costs and commitments within a set CCOA structure that supports Program Level Reporting.



Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional Technologist
  • 15 years of topsides Cost Control experience
  • 5 years of experience in Major Projects
  • Knowledge in cost control monitoring, cost budgeting and cost forecasting
  • Association with AACEI, PMI or the CIQS preferred
  • Practical applied experience in cost engineering
  • High level understanding of cost forecasting against Norsok Z-014
  • Candidate must possess extensive expertise in MS Excel
  • Site related Cost Control experience an asset
