Business Development Manager
Petroplan are currently recruiting a specialist position for new and rapidly growing EPCM company based in Calgary, Alberta. Our client currently seeks an experienced Business Development professional with a wide spectrum of experience in the Oil & Gas industry here in Canada. For this role, the preferred candidate would be required to grow and support the fabrication side of the business, promoting the ethos and goals of our client.
A background in fabrication/manufacturing is required for this position along with excellent communication skill and a driven personality.
Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify and secure business opportunities for current and future growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key personal in Calgary through networking and attending industry events.
  • Develop and maintain project activity reports indicating status (i.e. pre-feasibility, budget, RFQ)
  • Assist in developing sales forecasts.
  • Work directly with fabrication to obtain technical information, project pricing and special requirements.
  • Effectively communicate the company ethos and drive the organizations goals and direction.


Requirements:

  • A strong and established network of Oil & Gas contacts.
  • Experienced negotiator, with excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience
  • Experience in a Fabrication or Manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Third level degree, ideally in Engineering, Supply Chain or similar.
  • Self-motivated, confident and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

  1. Petroplan are recruiting for an exciting position in Egypt. The posiition is for a Project Manager on a very unique construction project - a brand new state of the art opera house.

    Experince Required

    Minimum 10 years direct experience in the field of Theatre Mechanisms, Sound and Communications, Audio Visual and broadcasting integration.

    - Minimum 10 years' experience in the network technology and security concept.

    - Strong awareness of the above trends in major systems' components, video conference, Network Securities and A/V technology with detailed focus on the systems' integration. - ICIA CTS Certified is preferred.

    - Capable to perform effectively and efficiently within a very tight time-frame, as well as, to keep within strict budgets while maintaining a positive environment with the client.

    - Possessing the capabilities of forecasting, anticipating, analyzing and problem solving abilities. - Having the capacity to coordinate with various disciplines (electrical, mechanical and LC Systems).

    - Well Organized & Decision Maker.

    - Having a good sense and Knowledge of "life safety and fire regulations/Codes".

    - Owning a combination of skills including the ability to ask probing questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve arising conflicts.

    - Able to communicate effectively with various personnel at all levels. - Experienced in managing multi-discipline systems' teams at large concert and conference halls and operas.

    - Must be experienced in interpreting and reviewing the diverse systems' contract documents including, but not limited to, schematic design, design development documents, construction documents, bid and award, request for information (RFI), variation orders, submittals, as-built drawings and close out documentation. - Capable of performing a successful track records in risk management, conflict resolution.

  2. Roles & Responsibilities

    - Responsible for the successful delivery and integration of the systems' construction phase and activities, budget, compliance, scope definition, construction delivery support, construction coordination, construction quality assurance, construction change order request evaluation and field engineering from inception through close-out of all projects.

    - Good follow-up of several sub-contractors.

    - Maintain an understandable tracking system for all sub-contractors' work progress.

    - Track and Evaluate Sub-contractors' work processes.

    - Manage the day-to-day working progress, the utilization of the technical consultants engaged on the client assignments, from ensuring the correct material delivery before the start of any activity, to explaining the work ethics and activities to colleagues.

    - Developing deliverable tight targets as a roadmap for various subcontractors. - Set up specific goals, signed-off by the client and their follow-up to meet the targeted goals. - Reviewing the contractual conditions of performance.

    - Keeping the directors and client in the loop giving them daily and/or weekly reports of the job status, equipment, policies and upcoming procedures and tasks.

    - Attending coordination meetings with the client, consultant and subcontractors.

    - Ensure full coordination with various disciplines (electrical, mechanical, LC Systems and Architecture).
