Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
  • 10-15 years' Experience in either in civil or pipeline or both Engineering discipline in EPC/PMC oil/gas industry
  • Geotechnical engineering experience in both Onshore and offshore field projects
  • Soil Investigation skills are must

JOB DESCRIPTION PRINCIPAL SAFETY ENGINEER PURPOSE & SCOPE:

  • This position requires experience in Front End Engineering Design of Oil & Gas facilities; mainly involving Upstream, Midstream, Gas Processing, Petroleum Refineries etc.
  • The role involves in-depth knowledge of conceptual HSE design, for Offshore as well as Onshore, oil / gas production, processing and transportation facilities.
  • The role also includes initiating and guiding in-house development activities involving guidelines / procedures to strengthen discipline capabilities and undertaking troubleshooting activities during various phases of project. Principal HSE Engineers shall be responsible for producing / reviewing various Loss prevention and HSE Deliverables (such as HSE Philosophies, HSE Plan, Fire & Gas system design, fire protection system design, safety studies etc.)
  • Produced in house or by external agencies for the Projects / Enquiries. During tendering stage, responsible for the review of enquiry documentation and the Scope of Work, perform pre-bid engineering, estimate man-hours and thus provide required inputs for bid preparation.
  • After award of Project, works as Principal HSE Engineer with complete responsibility for correctness and accuracy of the Safety Deliverables issued on the Project.
  • This responsibility also includes guiding / training a team of HSE Engineers as required and close coordination with other engineering disciplines and client's project team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to Head of Discipline / Engineering Manager (Process & Safety) and works under his overall supervision.
  • Assumes responsibility as Lead HSE Engineer for the project and capable of producing deliverables with minimum assistance / supervision.
  • Responsible for producing HSE deliverables such as Hazardous Area Schedule, Fire & Gas Detection Study including Detector's Layout, performing Firewater Hydraulics , sizing Fire Water Pump and Deluge System, preparing detailed P&IDs for fire protection system, preparing data sheets for firewater pumps, deluge valves, sprinkler nozzles, foam system and other miscellaneous fire protection equipment.
  • Develop the scope of works for the specialised studies performed by external agencies and participate in evaluation of the offers and final award.
  • Interface with other disciplines and the client on critical issues till resolution.
  • Work for Estimation of resources for Project / Enquiries.
  • Supervise / guide and train the Engineers as required.
  • The responsibility shall also include coordination with client, HSE Consultant( who are assigned to perform specialised studies), other discipline engineers and Project team
  • Perform Flare Radiation and Dispersion Analysis as required
  • Prepare/ review Safety Equipment Layout and Escape route layout.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID and other safety studies.
  • Provides input for the development of the Planning Package and project progress reporting.
  • Develop Spread Sheets; programme to simplify computational works.
  • Should be familiar with current HSE practices and should have hand-on experience with the software FRED, DNV PHAST PROFESSIONAL, PIPENET etc. used for Consequence Analysis and firewater hydraulics respectively

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent from a reputed institute
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience as HSE Design Engineer in Oil and Gas industry, out of which minimum 6 years should be in LDE role
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and practices such
  • Has excellent skill of report writing and possess brilliant communication skill
  • Good interpersonal relationship.

Principal Field Development Engineer

PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (FIELD DEVELOPMENT PLANNING)

ROLE / PURPOSE:


This position requires experience in specialized field development planning, feasibility and pre-FEED studies, including techno-economic analysis. Possess good understanding of Concept, Select and Front End Engineering Design of Oil & Gas facilities; mainly involving Upstream, Midstream, and Gas Processing. Experience in downstream industry such as Refineries, Petrochemicals will be an added advantage.
The role involves in-depth knowledge of field development planning, conceptual design, process configuration studies of various Process and Utility Systems, techno-economic analysis, International codes and standards, process design guidelines, specialized process studies etc.
The candidate is expected to have experience in and be well versed with Oil and Gas processing facilities especially field development planning and the design activities during Concept, Select and FEED phases, including international codes & standards. The role also includes initiating and guiding in-house development activities involving guidelines / procedures to strengthen discipline capabilities and undertaking troubleshooting activities during various phases of project.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to Head of Discipline / Engineering Manager (Process & Safety) and works under his overall supervision.
  • The role requires strong analytical skills combined with proven experience and knowledge of Field Development Planning, conceptual design, process configuration studies. Assessing the economic impact of various development and operational strategies, both short and long term. Equipment and systems design and techno-economic analysis as applicable to Upstream and Midstream Process facilities. Experience with downstream industry will be an added advantage.
  • Liaise with Client Petroleum Engineering, Sub-surface and Operations team.
  • Generate a probabilistic assessment of conceptual field development (integrating subsurface geological uncertainties with operational and economic uncertainties).
  • Assessing the impact of any asset replacement plans due to design life considerations
  • Participating and facilitating Option Identification / Risk assessment Workshops
  • Coordinates with Project Engineering Manager assigned to the Project and with Project Manager, Clients, other Discipline Engineers, Consultants, Vendors, etc. as required.
  • During tendering stage, reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work; raises technical clarifications / queries where there is lack of clarity, interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities and finally provide Process inputs during bid preparation.
  • On award of project, responsible for complete Process Design and Engineering works on a project, including optimisation and correctness of design; cost considerations, man-hours control and providing guidance and training to the Process Engineers working on the Project.
  • Develops Scope of Work for Sub contractors related to Process works as per Project requirements.
  • Develops Process Design Basis and Design Philosophies based on scope of work, Bid documents, subsequent client's clarifications and site visit etc.
  • Reviews / Performs Process Simulations and Guides Process Engineers to perform Process Simulations and develop Heat & Mass Balance as required.
  • Guides / Reviews the Process Engineer's works such as Equipment / Instrument sizing, Process calculations, Pipeline hydraulics, Blow down calculations, preparation of PFDs & P&IDs, Equipment / Package / Instrument data sheets preparation etc.
  • Evaluates Vendor / Consultant offers for Process Packages / Equipment, Specialized Process Engineering Studies etc. Raises technical queries, discussions with Vendors / Consultants, prepare / provide process inputs for Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and finally reviews vendor documentation etc.
  • Develops design guidelines, design procedures, Spread Sheets and/or standalone software program to simplify / automate Process works.
  • Provides input for the development of the Planning Package and project progress reporting. Monitors and Controls man-hours to ensure that the job is finished within budgeted man-hours.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.Sc. / B.E. in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.
    • Minimum of 15 years' experience in the Oil and Gas plants, Upstream & Midstream, Gas Processing, Petroleum Refineries Design and Engineering, out of which minimum 6 years should be in LDE role during Field Development Planning, Concept, FEED and Engineering stages.
    • Experience in building Field Development Planning (FDP) models to assist oil & gas company decision makers in making well-informed business decisions, and achieving their business objectives.
    • Shall be proficient in option framing / identification, risk analysis, cost estimation and economic evaluation
    • Establishing the suitability of the existing technologies, control systems and instrumentation for field life extension


· Prepare Field Development Planning Report and cost and execution strategy, as appropriate.
· Provide process input to field change proposals (FCP's).

    • Identify & pursue opportunities to optimize utilization or de-bottleneck existing assets as appropriate incorporating new understanding of reservoir and well performance, changes in development planning and schedules, and economic criteria
    • Performing techno-economic analysis, use of asset development software so that various development options can be compared on the basis of an area-wide project value.


· Experience with unconventional resources in a reservoir, field development, or completions capacity

    • Good knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards

PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Potential candidates at this level are responsible for independently working on Concept design, FEED and EPC
activities which involves sizing and selection of equipment, cost analysis, engineering, development of
deliverables, co-ordination of activities, attendance at client meetings and the preparation or checking of all
project documentation are part of the responsibilities.
They are also responsible for planning and allocating tasks for the Engineering and Drafting teams with
emphasis on Team Management.
Together with Management responsibilities technical expertise is mandatory for this position as it involves
providing high level of consultancy and expertise to the team including selection of Type of Equipment suitable
for the application.
These candidates can be seconded to work as Project Engineering Manager based on the size and complexity
of the assigned project. The focus will shift from one of deep discipline knowledge to that of coordinating the
various engineering disciplines involved in assigned projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? B.Sc. in Engineering, preferably M.Sc. in Mechanical

PURPOSE & SCOPE

  • Present position is for an Estimator role in 'Engineering Department' and the incumbent shall be responsible for
  • estimate preparation during all phases of engineering development viz. Select phase to the final FEED package
  • having estimates for EPC works. Accordingly, the candidate is expected to possess necessary experience and
  • skills for Class 5 to Class 1 estimation techniques depending on the maturity level of project definition.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of in-house cost database from executed projects, budgetary quotes, and other relevant data
  • Review of FEED design / Tender documents
  • Organise / take part in Estimation initiation & review meetings
  • All in-house co-ordination for preparation of estimates (Select and FEED phase as well as bid phase) including
  • Responsible for review/preparation of OME (Order of magnitude estimate) before onward submissions.
  • Ensure that commercial submissions to tenders are fully complied with all necessary details.
  • Responsible to verify detailed MTOs (quantity take-off) from FEED / tender documentation.
  • Ensure the Indirect Cost Estimate is correctly prepared
  • Proactively work with the Procurement Group to ensure Vendors RFQ Technical and Commercial Bid
  • Assist Engineering Manager with the preparation of a list of clarifications and qualifications to the proposal.
  • Assist in other various departmental development work Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience
  • Past experience of similar nature in oil & gas Contracting Organisation in Concept, FEED, EPCI and T&I business

Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • A recognized BS, MS degree, Diploma in Engineering or Quantity Surveying in a related field is preferred.
  • AACE or equivalent accreditation via Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification should be
  • stated but not a requirement.
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification industry experience
  • Proven skills in developing internal cost database
  • Leadership in HSE culture and behaviour across line of business

IT Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator and/or similar software platforms
