Petroplan are looking to recruit an excellent Cost Engineer to work on a years contract based in Surrey for a major Oil and Gas client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare yearly budgets and analysis.

Review financial postings and documents prepared by others for accuracy and resolve audit findings.

Monthly department cost tracking, reporting and analysis.

Prepare monthly departmental cost reallocations.

Conduct rate analysis to determine appropriate reimbursement levels and sets rates accordingly.

Measures cost per unit of service to determine whether fees are being set at appropriate levels.

Consults with and advises department management and accounting personnel on a wide range of cost accounting matters.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Extensive background in cost reporting and analysis.

Must be detailed oriented and accurate.

Must be able to effectively perform multiple complex tasks.

Must have high standard of business ethics.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; both oral and written.

Must work well under pressure.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, Visio, Crystal Reports, Fleet Focus, SAP, E-Accounting, Budget Book, Info-Edge and able to learn specialized software quickly.

Position: Financial Accountant
Reporting to: Group Financial Controller
Location: Guildford

Petroplan is an international oil, gas and energy recruitment specialist operating in over 40 countries. We have regional offices in the UK, US, Middle East, Sub Saharan Africa and Canada. We currently employ c.100 people globally.

This is a permanent role reporting to the Group Financial Controller and is based at our head office in Guildford.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Group and subsidiary level month end reporting
  • Prepare and control all balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, inter-company balances, debtors, bank, creditors (including payroll)
  • Statutory reporting & audit on a global basis, including preparation of subsidiary and group consolidated statutory accounts (foreign currency translations, inter-company eliminations, management fees, royalties)
  • Liaising with external auditors on all audit issues to include planning, on site audit work (schedules), completion and sign off
  • Implementation of process improvements and controls as identified internally and from external auditors
  • Create efficient methods and models for accounting and financial record-keeping
  • Work closely with management accounts team on reporting issues, technical updates
  • Ad hoc financial tasks /projects


You will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Statutory accounts preparation (group consolidations) and technically strong (audit background an advantage)
  • International experience preferred (foreign exchange reporting, transfer pricing)
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Ability to challenge the status quo
  • Experience of Caseware would be beneficial
  • Both Blue Chip and SME experience desired
  • Strong academic record

Petroplan are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support our Finance team. We are an expanding company specialising in the recruitment of highly skilled professionals to the oil, gas and energy industry. We operate across six continents via several legal entitles and trade in multi currencies.

This role may suit a school leaver, recent graduate or someone with a keen interest to start a career in finance. We offer extensive training and you will be a vital part of the business from day 1.

The role:

  • Processing timesheets & expenses
  • Managing supplier payments of time & expenses
  • Regular communication with both contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Dealing with contractor queries
  • Sales and purchase invoicing
  • Assist with the tracking of data changes through the Company's CRM system (Bullhorn)
  • Provide cover for other Finance team members
  • Ad hoc financial and operating tasks, as required

About you, you will have:

  • Experience of working in a Finance Department or an interest in working within Finance
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A flexible and adaptable workstyle
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Strong compliance and control mentality
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc)
