Under strict supervision, performs maintenance functions such as repairs on down-hole tools, surface equipment and other production equipment in the application for down-hole tools. Assembles and disassemble down-hole tools, surface equipment, and other production equipment. Basic computer skills are preferred. Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required. Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Basic computer skills are preferred. This is the entry level position into the tool tech family. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.

Job Duties:

  • Operating material moving equipment
  • operator an overhead crane
  • ability to check parts with gauges
  • familiar reading/understanding drawings


Qualifications:

  • 2 years of prior experience
  • Technical Schooling is preferred
  • Machinist background
  • Over head crane certification
  • Previous experience reading / understanding blue prints
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment

Material Prep/Finisher - Lafayette

Currently accepting applications for Material Prep / Finisher to join a well known Oil Field service company. This position is contract, M-Fri (4pm - 12:30pm) and located in Lafayette, LA office. Prospective candidates will be required to deburr, sandblast and prep finish goods for final inspection
Responsibilities:

  • May use various gauges to verify or visually check parts for compliance to quality and workmanship standards
  • General housekeeping
  • Operates and maintains various equipment to cut, clean, and deburr material
  • Ensure proper quantities and appearance
  • Operate Forklifts and Crane


Requirements:

  • 6 months to 1 year prior experience
  • Ability to read gauges and drawings
  • Ability to work independently

Material Conditioner - Lafayette

Petroplan is now accepting resumes of Material Conditioner to join a well known Oil Field service company. This position is contract and will be located out of the Lafayette, LA office. Prospective candidates will be responsible for deburring, sandblasting and preping finish goods for final inspection
Responsibilities:

  • Confirm material received
  • Read blue prints, instructions etc.
  • Manuel labor
  • Adhere to all HSE rules and regulations
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, which may include hardness testers, to ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards
  • May operate forklift or crane when needed


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous manufacturing or similar industries
  • previous experience with basic hand tools
  • Forklift or crane certification
  • Great communication skills and ability to work well with others

Field Buyer - Lafayette

Petroplan is currently accepting resumes to join a great Oil Field Service company in need of a Field Buyer. This position is a 6 month contract and located in Lafayette, LA. Prospective candidates must have previous or current experience within Purchasing and within the Manufacturing world.
Duties:

  • Identify and select primary and secondary suppliers.
  • Complete requests for quotes and negotiate procurement contracts.
  • Issue purchase orders and expedite orders.
  • Coordinate contract agreements
  • Verify the purchase orders and keep PO status up to date.


Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience as a Buyer
  • Bachelor's Degree within Supply Chain
  • Manufacturing and/or Oil & Gas experience is a must
  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings / bill of materials / material specifications
  • Understanding of standard quality requirements and how they relate to the purchase order.
  • Familiar with Oracle (or similar ERP System) and Excel.
