Senior Development Geologist - Qatar (Three year renewable residential assignment)

Our Client in Qatar is looking for a high calibre Senior Development Geologist for the Gas Field Development Project. Excellent expat package is on offer.


Key purpose of the role is to Coordinate and control the acquisition of geological data by joint venture companies and construct, update and evaluate geological models in support of reservoir characterization and reservoir simulation studies.


At least 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry practicing relevant geological and petrophysical analysis, for hydrocarbon reservoirs.


* Field development and reservoir characterization background are highly recommended.
* Carbonate reservoir experience is highly recommended.
* Experienced user of various Oil and Gas subsurface applications (e.g. Landmark, Petrel, Petrosys) and general office applications.

SENIOR SPECIALIST, GAS MARKET DEVELOPMENT

SALES GAS MANAGEMENT - Gas Market Development Division

The primary purpose of this Division is to:· Explore new opportunities for gas utilization and maximizing economic benefit from gas & ethane sales.

Development of the natural gas & ethane Sales & Purchase Agreements - GSPAs and EGSPAs (local and pipeline).

Act as the interface of CS for contractual matters related to gas & ethane SPAs.

Budget preparation and developing the KPIs for gas & ethane sales.


Primary purpose of job


Act as the primary interface for domestic supply of sales gas and ethane gas feedstock; identify and develop new gas sale and purchase agreements; extend existing agreements whenever required and monitor and escalate contractual issues.


Experience & Skills


Minimum 12 years of work experience in development and administration of contracts and agreements with commercial organizations and establishment of commercial viability of complex projects using industry wide economic evaluation techniques. Should be familiar with international oil and gas industry and refined products business.

* Advanced skills in contract negotiations, legal drafting, mediating, advocating and influencing.

* Good knowledge in broad aspects of oil & gas business such as operations, planning, financing, agreement administration, legal and international business practices.

* Ability to provide commercial interpretation of contractual terms in consultation with legal department.

* Familiar with gas producing plants, and processes of transmission of gas through pipelines to power plants, petrochemical and cement plants. Good knowledge of product specifications.


Education


Bachelor degree in Business or petroleum-related discipline from an accredited university. Related postgraduate qualification (MBA) will be advantageous.

Primary purpose of job
1) Develop and maintain project based economic models and specific role-based models for evaluating risks and profitability for all new Oil & Gas opportunities, including discussion of new fiscal terms, assets entering renegotiation phases, expiring Oil & Gas projects for extensions and/or renewals, divestments and new acquisitions.
2) Support various units and departments within the company by providing economic input, key economic drivers and valuation results.

Experience & Skills
1) Minimum 10 years work experience in various disciplines related to the Oil & Gas industry.
2) With expertise in one or more of economics modelling, project economics evaluation, optimization modelling, feasibility study appraisal.
3) Requires strong organisational, analytical and communications kills.
4) Ability to manage inter-department relationships as well as senior management or partners' executive relationships.
5) Excellent problem solving, financial, economic skills as well as ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
6) Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
7) Arabic is a plus.

Education
1) Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering or relevant discipline from a recognized university.
2) Related postgraduate qualification (MSc. or MBA) or experience is advantageous.
