Construction Engineer

This role is the principal liaison between the field staff and the Engineering Design Department and handles all engineering related issues that arise during construction.
Responsibilities

  • Assists with interpretations of the CSA Z662 Oil & Gas Pipeline Codes
  • Coordinates key meetings with Engineering Design, i.e. pressure test review and other Contractor Plans requiring company approval.
  • Communicates field changes from the IFC drawings to the Design Engineer to receive approval.
  • Keeps track of who has copies of the Construction Contract and working Procurement to ensure all copies are consistent, providing updates to all recipients as required.
  • Administers Change Orders, identifies scope of work, confirms reimbursements, estimates cost, circulates for approval signatures, tracking completion and final invoicing
  • Tracks field progress of construction tasks and communicate to team
  • Expedites required materials as needed
  • Must be familiar with all permits and their conditions of approval, reminding the construction team of these requirements.
  • Attends weekly construction, cost, schedule and other meetings to support the project.
  • Updates the Weekly Cost Tracking Graph, showing (i) budgeted project costs, (ii) actual project cost, and (iii) forecast project cost throughout the duration of the project
  • Collects and summarizes results from construction tests and monitoring during blasting.

    Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, CET or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years engineering and construction experience
  • Experience working for a pipeline company, EPC, construction firm on heavy industrial projects.
  • Must have strong computer skills including intermediate experience with MS Office including excel
  • P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation


Additional information

* Local travel will be required
* Schedule will vary from 50-75 hours/week including weekends
* Must be able to work on a construction site in varying weather conditions

Materials Coordinator

DUTIES:

  • Coordinate all project materials under direction of the Construction Superintendent
  • Update the Bill of Material (BOM) in Projectwise with material delivery status for each project
  • Check / verify condition of materials such as fittings, valves, and pipe for defects, strength requirements, sizing, etc. to ensure that they match the BOM
  • Assist with scheduling material delivery and pick up
  • Liaison with procurement representatives as it relates to project materials
  • Set-up and maintain daily communications with the Inspector, Construction Superintendent, and project manager, regarding material coordination
  • Assist the inspection staff with any specific material problems that they may encounter
  • Track company ordered material to assure they remain on schedule
  • Receive materials and coordinate inspection
  • Manage the material warehouse and storage facility for Engineering Construction projects
  • Manage and dispose of surplus materials
  • Work between procurement, design, and construction to ensure that materials have been identified, ordered and received on schedule and to resolve material issues during construction


MUST HAVES:

  • 1-3 years' work experience in a related field.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a technical or related field

Our client is seeking a Sourcing and Contract Specialist for their Calgary location.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct review of key existing contracts within assigned categories to identify business risks and ensure commercial and technical competitiveness within the marketplace.
  • Accountable for new vendor justification process.
  • Prepare and conduct RFI/RFP/RFQ events (generally over $100,000).
  • Manage all aspect of contract formation with vendors, including:
    • Provide commercial feedback on acceptance/risks during contract negotiations to business stakeholders,
    • Obtain legal/clause owner approval for deviations from controlled clauses,
    • Maintaining an accurate contract change log during negotiations,
    • Maintaining accurate records within the contracts database, and
    • Ensuring invoices are receiving rate validation and Purchase Orders are being utilized.
  • Verifies all aspects of the order, including pricing to ensure conformance with company policy while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Organize and conduct vendor kick-off meetings for vendors related to transactional efficiencies and technology enablement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry in a Supply Chain role, oil sands experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain or law.
  • Experience conducting RFP events with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Experience negotiating contract provisions related to warranty, acceptance criteria, indemnity, title, termination and cancellation.
  • Requires a strong understanding of discipline.
  • Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations.
  • Makes decisions within broad parameters.
  • Acts as an informal resource for others with less experience.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM module

This is a 1 year contract position.

This is an office position and requires occasional site visits to Operational facilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of the SAP Hierarchy
  • Audit the SAP hierarchy and resolve discrepancies
  • Participate in asset criticality and critical spares identification
  • Lead and assist in the development, creation, and optimization of SAP Plant Maintenance in alignment with maintenance and planning standards

  • Journeyman Electrician / Instrumentation (dual ticket) with inter-provincial red seal (or eligibility for designation)
  • Minimum of 3-6 years instrumentation maintenance experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper or power generation industries
  • Experience with instrumentation work order execution, task list scoping, equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience / working knowledge of a Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), e.g. SAP PM, Maximo
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of:
  • Pressure equipment, rotating, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls equipment,
  • Various engineered drawings and documents, e.g. P&IDs, single lines drawings, datasheets, equipment manuals
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office suite

Location: Full time, normal office hours (8am - 5pm) Start date: February 19, 2020 Duration: Position will be approximately three (3) months Reporting to: Planning & Scheduling Lead.

Key Accountabilities:

* Review notifications and articulate most viable solution to problem * Assemble all supporting documents, drawing and procedures for work scope execution * Create material masters for new materials * Populate SAP work order with activities, resources and materials * Act as point of contact with required vendors during the work scope planning phase * Work with project engineering to assist in the resolving engineering related items * Perform warehouse verification of materials/tooling

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience: * Formal certification (diploma) in Mechanical Technology, Hydraulics, Pipefitting, or similar * Experience with an offshore oil and gas environment. Minimum 2-5 years' experience * Experience planning work activities within a computerized maintenance software system * Experience working with P&IDs, Isometrics, and Control Drawings (hydraulics) * Experience with Hazardous Area Environments, Equipment Certifications and common installation practices * Familiarization with piping, gaskets, bolting and torqueing would be desirable. * Experience with MS Office and SAP would be an asset

Reporting to the Supervisor Tanks Program the selected candidate will be responsible for support of project cost management for the Project Manager and Project Controls Advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Required to record, track and maintain all submissions related to cost, progress and change.
  • Update and Maintain earned value reports for all major scopes of work on a daily basis.
  • Review and recording of daily time tickets (LEMs) for cost and man hour information.
  • Review and recording of daily progress for earned value reporting
  • Conduct critical analysis of project costs and budget.
  • Interface with contractors to ensure we are provided with correct rates and estimates for updating reports.
  • Interface with Inspectors to ensure they are providing accurate documentation for updating reports.
  • Review and validation of Invoices to ensure that dates and amounts are in agreement with contract terms.
  • Work with our internal invoice system (Markview) and the Accounts Payable group to ensure invoices are coded properly and sent to the appropriate approver.
  • Compilation of scheduled and ad hoc reporting as required by the project personnel.
  • Attend and participate in program and contractor update meetings.
  • Active participant of the program team; works closely with project managers and Project Controls Analysts (PCA).
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Safety, Integrity, Respect, and other applicable trainings.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma; or formal training in regards to Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Controls, and Planning required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience related to cost and/or scheduling is required, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Software Experience: Microsoft Office programs (Advanced Excel user, proficient in Word, Project) and have a basic understanding of scheduling principles including data input; experience with Oracle Financials and Markview Invoicing would be an asset.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal are required.
  • Very detail oriented.
  • Desire to advance in the field of Project Controls by taking on more challenges.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial process instrumentation, fire and gas detection equipment, metering systems, safety instrumented systems, hazardous locations and control valves

  • Resolve instrument related Technical Queries (TQs) and develop Change Requests (CRs) as required, ensuring adherence to the Management of Change process
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance and carry out commercial support e.g., contract adherence, and invoice verification
  • Work with the operation support engineering, equipment strategy and reliability teams to execute and optimize planned maintenance strategies of instrument equipment
  • Support senior EIC engineer in planning, prioritization and execution of work-scopes

Experience and Education

  • 10 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, project management or engineering is required; some technology focus in previous experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline, and/or extensive experience in technology development and project management
  • Strong technology mindset with demonstrable project experience preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with design thinking process, lean and agile software delivery teams would be an asset

Job Overview

  • Reporting to the Specialist, Technology Implementation - Mining, the Technology Implementation Engineer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of digital technology in the Mine, as well as addressing the current gaps in technology deployment.
  • This temporary contract role will handle a flux in workload to complete implementation of the mine wireless network and systems.
  • This role will maintain roadmaps, schedules and stewardship on our overall digital plan and capital portfolio.
  • It will be responsible to support the ADEM process associated with digital technology development, including creating problem definition documents, and being a member of integrated teams.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible to support the process associated with digital technology development, including creating problem definition documents, preparing decision notices, and being a member of integrated teams and supporting gate 1, 2 and 3 deliverables.
  • Act as a translator between the mine business unit (understands the current mine digital infrastructure, mine plan, and how we do business) and the team implementing new technologies on our behalf (Business Unit Projects, Digital and Enterprise Technical)
  • Develop, prepare and maintain roadmaps and schedules on our overall digital technology plan and portfolio as well as for specific project work.
  • Prepare presentation material to support updates on the digital technology portfolio to the Mine Leadership team (including portfolio stewardship)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key business and technology stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Work with the development Integration Lead to perform customer research to gain insight into the voice of the business and analyze the possible alternatives, capabilities and qualities that would be most beneficial to the business
  • Monitor the support of the use of technology through close communication with the business and collaboration with internal stakeholders

Overview
As a Full Stack Developer, you will develop and maintain the product. Gathers user requirements, writes and codes using an agile methodology, and continuously updates the product. Collaborates with internal stakeholders, the development team and Scrum Master to develop, design, build and launch the product. This role will bring distinctive capabilities driving competitive advantage for Enbridge by applying this deep understanding within a complex, cross-functional environment to drive significant business impact.

Must Have


* Preferred 10 years of full stack development experience
* Expertise in fundamental front-end languages including HTML5, CSS, and Javascript
* Familiarity with Javascript framworks such as AngularJS, or React

Our client is looking for a Senior Reliability Specialist, (Electric Shovels) in Fort McMurray, AB.

Preferred candidated living in Fort McMurray.

Otherwise the candidate must want to relocate to Fort McMurray for the position.

It is not Fly in Fly out position- could offer a competitive relocation package for anyone successful.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to the business regarding short and long term maintenance activities and strategies
  • Manage on-site assessments of equipment issues and path forward
  • Participate in and facilitate failure analysis, root cause analysis and incident investigation teams
  • Support reliability improvements through technology
  • Provide exceptional mentorship and guidance to new hire employees in the EIT (Engineer in training) reliability groups and planning roles, as well as be a trusted resource for field technicians with limited shovel specialized training
  • Provide recommendations on regular stewardship asset reliability performance
  • Share your experience in condition based monitoring programs related to ultra-class equipment


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Must have electric shovels experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 20 years of in field working experience with shovels and ultra-class haul trucks
  • 20 years of in field experience working within either maintenance and reliability or a combination of both for large mining equipment
  • 15-20 years of mining experience
  • Knowledge of P&H and Komatsu equipment
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
  • A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Oil sand experience
