Materials Clerk

Our client is looking for a Material Clerk in Prince George, BC.

This is a 6 month contract.

  • The duties of the Material Clerk should be to receive, check, maintain, and account for all material used in assigned construction projects.
  • Maintain required record keeping system for materials, manufacturers, equipment data, and general correspondence for assigned construction projects.
  • Check all materials received from the Stores Department and vendors for correctness and condition of materials.
  • Maintain the necessary records for these materials to be utilized for construction of pipeline and station projects.
  • Deliver materials to the construction site and assist in the unloading of materials received from the vendors and Stores Department
  • Assure that all material received is stored in a safe and non-damaging manner and shelter is provided where necessary.
  • Maintain schedules of anticipated material deliveries from Stores and Purchasing Departments and various vendors and keeps the Construction Office and other interested parties informed.
  • Procure materials not originally ordered from Company warehouse and various suppliers.
  • Collect, account, and follow proper methods of disposal for unused materials at the completion of projects.
  • Collect, account, and follow proper methods of disposal for retired materials as specified in the Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collect required reporting information necessary to prepare Company completion reports which are inventories of property units installed or retired.
  • Investigate discrepancies reported by the Controller?s Department on the difference report.

Qualifications

  • The Material Clerk should exhibit an introductory knowledge of gas pipeline construction and be able to complete assigned work under limited supervision.
  • The Clerk should have a pick-up truck.
  • Demonstrated ability to drag drawings
  • Fundamental understanding of Project lifecycles
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Visio, and SharePoint

Risk Based Integrity Engineer

Our client is looking for a Risk Based Integrity Engineer in Lloydminister.

This is a 1 year contract position.


Position Summary:
This position supports the development, implementation and sustainment of the Risk Based Integrity Management (RBIM) Program for pressure equipment, piping, storage tanks and fired heaters. This includes providing technical support and coordination to all parties involved in the program as well as developing and implementing processes and procedures.
Travel will be required occasionally

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and sustainment of the RBIM Program for prioritizing maintenance and inspection activities that meets or exceeds provincial and federal regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate operations, maintenance, engineering and inspection personnel to optimize existing asset reliability by providing technical and RBIM program support through training and process development
  • Support RBIM Program sustainment activities including risk assessments and inspection planning
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the RBIM Program, procedures and processes
  • Participate in industry networks to ensure industry recommended integrity and reliability practices are explored and considered for adoption in the RBIM Program.


Must haves:

  • Materials, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Technologist
  • Professional Status (P.Eng or Professional Licensee)
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the field of Risk Based Integrity Management in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry. Experience includes:
  • RBI implementation experience.
  • Operating experience
  • Experience with integrity software tools
  • Inspection/reliability, risk assessments and risk-based inspections, condition assessment, root cause analysis, failure investigation, corrosion control and mitigation, and fitness of service assessments for pressure equipment, piping and tanks.
  • Willing to relocate to Lloydminster.
  • Working knowledge of API Recommended Practice API 510, API 570, API 571, API 580, API 581, API 650, API 653, and API 579.
  • Working knowledge of ABSA documents AB-505 and AB-506

Nice to haves:

  • Project Management Professional designation
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the field of fitness of service assessments for pressure equipment, piping and tanks.
  • Knowledge of materials of construction, selection, limitation, use and welding problems associated with different materials.

Position Requirements:

Shift Schedule: Rotating shift. Some nightshifts (this includes a nightshift premium)

Must have qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Power Engineering certificate to level of facility employed (3rd or 4th) Note that there is a steam ticket premium.

This position is ideally based in our client's Prince George office. The main focus is construction schedule monitoring, progress reporting, cost control and earned value reporting.
Responsibilities

  • Schedule Management: Construction schedule monitoring and resources monitoring regarding scheduled targets
  • Provide cost tracking and reporting against established budgets
  • Earned Value Analysis: Provide cost trending reporting to required stakeholders to ensure pro-active management related to forecasted expenditures
  • Work with the Program Controls and Program Supervisor to define the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Budget that will be utilized for the Dig Program Packages
  • Work with the Program Controls and Program Supervisor to set up score cards for earned value reporting broken down by the WBS. Update and monitor performance of the Program and the contractors based on the results. The frequency of the reports will vary dependent on Program requirements and constraints.
  • Interface with the contractors to ensure deliverables per the "Contractor Program Controls Reporting Requirements" are timely and accurate
  • Validate daily LEM Sheets and other similar contractor submittals for agreed rates, and the correct WBS coding for the works performed.
  • Interface with the Inspectors that approve the daily LEM Sheets (Daily Site Reports), and other similar reports for the accuracy of the hours expended, and that the resources are itemized as an accurate reflection of the works taking place.
  • Review of Contractor Invoices, ensuring that the coding, amounts, and reported quantities are in agreement with the information provided by the contractor to date, and in agreement with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Progress Monitoring (daily and weekly basis): Construction progress tracking, quantities reports, and progress trending on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Cost Management: Cost reports updating, construction works cost tracking, contractor's cost



Qualifications

  • Post-secondary in Engineering technology, or business/accounting related studies.
  • Formal training in Scheduling, Estimating, Cost Controls, and Planning is an asset.
  • Construction Experience: Must have 2 to 5 years of construction experience related to cost and scheduling controls of multi discipline Programs, on actual Program sites.
  • Oil and Gas industry related experience will be required
  • Software Experience: Must be proficient in Excel, Word and have a basic understanding of scheduling principles including MS Projects / Data base software.
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. The ability to clearly articulate requirements in a fast paced environment are critical.

Our energy client has a position for a quality specialist based in their Prince George Operations. A key component of this role will be to review written reports with analyses and briefing notes for completeness and compliance with operational standards.
This position is to lead all facets of investigations relating to Quality incidents and assessment of the Dig Program processes, procedures and work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper evaluation, development and execution of the Dig Program implementation by following processes and procedures.
  • Ensures contractor compliance with Inspection Plans, construction drawings and procedures, and other quality documents applicable to the work being performed. Ensure all field records are compiled all required turnover packages are completed
  • Reviewing the project plans and specifications and submit required QA/QC documents including site specific QA/QC plan, input to method statements, Inspection and Test plans, etc.
  • Analyze, develop and recommend preventative/corrective actions. Monitor to ensure the appropriate action items are completed for close-out
  • Collect, analyze and evaluate dig program history in order to develop improvement opportunities for future integrity program execution performance.
  • Identify and analyze trends in Quality Investigations and make training and other recommendations to address performance deficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Provide services for the monitoring and reporting of Quality related incidents to Enbridge's dig program management team and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for compiling, analyzing and distributing statistics related to assigned areas of accountability that are required for regularly scheduled status reports, executive briefings and special requests related to quality services metrics

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in engineering or related technically focused discipline
  • Professional certification in PMP, Quality Management or equivalent is an asset
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a Quality management role, at offices and at construction sites.
  • Thorough knowledge of Engineering, Supply Chain, Fabrication and Construction Quality processes as part of project execution.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Quality Planning and Total Quality Management
  • Experience with Process Safety Management
  • Excellent working knowledge of applicable Canadian codes and standards (such as the Z-662)

Experience and Education

Job Overview

  • Reporting to the Specialist, Technology Implementation - Mining, the Technology Implementation Engineer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of digital technology in the Mine, as well as addressing the current gaps in technology deployment.
  • This temporary contract role will handle a flux in workload to complete implementation of the mine wireless network and systems.
  • This role will maintain roadmaps, schedules and stewardship on our overall digital plan and capital portfolio.
  • It will be responsible to support the ADEM process associated with digital technology development, including creating problem definition documents, and being a member of integrated teams.

  • Develop, prepare and maintain roadmaps and schedules on our overall digital technology plan and portfolio as well as for specific project work.
  • Prepare presentation material to support updates on the digital technology portfolio to the Mine Leadership team (including portfolio stewardship)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key business and technology stakeholders (internal and external)

Key Accountabilities
  • Provides mechanical engineering support to facilities design and operations.
  • Provides discipline technical support during the project FEL process for new and/or revamp projects.
  • Provides technical support for problem solving and development of recommendations to reduce or eliminate failures.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in applicable codes in order to utilize the latest available technology.
  • Assists in the design, layout, testing, and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems.
  • Provides support for design and/or modification of hardware in production.
  • Oversees technical studies.
  • Supports supply chain in mechanical system and equipment procurement activities.
