Lead Buyer - Subcontracting

Our client is a market leading provider for marine and offshore services to the shipping and energy sectors and is looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to further develop their procurement department. This is an opportunity for an ambitious commercially minded individual to prosper and grow within a world-class company that already has a strong reputation in the market. This will be a managerial role with several direct reports and the responsbility to coordinate several departments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Source and procure sub-contracting services to satisfy the ship repair, NB projects, yard maintenance & other requirements.
  • Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the subcontracting section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and update the subcontracting status
  • Organize the regularly review meeting with subordinates and identify the concerns to provide the best possible solutions

Candidate Profile:

  • 10 - 15 years experience subcontracting in an industrial environment, shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong commerical awareness and negotiation skills
  • Broad knowledge of international trade and strong familiarity with shipping terms

Job: Piping Supervisor
Location: Dubai
Base Salary: AED 9500 / 11,000 per month

Technical competencies:

Five (5) years of formal piping supervisory experience in heavy industrial projects such as ship yards, refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants, etc.

Should be conversant with applicable safe working practices, quality & standards.

Ability to manage / control a multi-national workforce.

Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and multinational employees.

Considerable experience of supervising piping construction staff to achieve effective construction execution.

Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)

Hands-on job senior/general foreman experience in piping construction.

Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage multiple team of pipe workers.

Electrical Engineer - Dubai

Salary: AED 9500 - 16000 per month (Basic Salary HRA allowance)

Day to Day Operations:
  • Identify, select and design electrical system / equipment for projects as required.
  • Perform verification of, but not limited to: electrical drawings, cable schedules, termination drawings, equipment layout, fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews and take necessary follow up actions with relevant bodies.
  • Carry out technical review quotations provided by the Project Manager or New Building Estimation and make recommendations on the technical suitability of each.
  • Liaise with other trades and project managers / invoices / estimators.
  • Follow up with trades and carry out inspections during vessel construction.
  • Assist Manager in achieving departments' targets as per Yards requirements.
  • Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the electrical department/section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures



Education:

  • Bachelor of Electrical / Electronic Engineering



Minimum Experience Required:

  • 5 years experience in a Shipyard Environment
  • 2 years experience working in Design Office
  • Reading and understanding electrical drawings and symbols.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present work related information to their immediate supervisor and subordinates as necessary
  • Experience in marine instrumentation and control systems.
  • Knowledgeable in power generation and distribution.

Company: shipbuilding and repairing services provider

Conract: permanent /staff based in Dubai

Job Objectives:

Reviewing commercial agreements, taking down minutes of meetings, and assisting with shipping corporate, competition, employment, regulatory, environmental, property, insurance and other ad-hoc legal matters, whether of a litigation or transactional nature.

Key Responsabilities


Policies, Processes & Procedures:

  • Recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
  • Ensure employees are aware and follow the information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Budget:

  • Assist in the development of the department budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.

Day- to-day operations:

  • Managing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and or litigation matters.
  • Attending board meetings and taking down minutes.-(where requested).
  • Participating in conference calls and note taking.
  • Assisting on corporate mergers and acquisitions.
  • Notarizations of Power of Attorney Legal Translations and any other documents.
  • Drafting Board Resolutions.
  • Review insurance related documents, claims procedures, tender documents.
  • Assist in carrying out research on various legal issues.
  • Assist in providing regular updates on litigation related matters.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating legal policies and procedures.

People Management:

  • Providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in a collegiate atmosphere with a focus on empowerment and upselling.

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience of shipping /oil and gas law.
  • Experience in a similar position in a reputable shipyard or shipping company or in private practice.
  • Familiar with technical terms related to the shipping and oil and gas industries.
  • Project Management and Contract negotiation skills.

Education

  • Graduate degree in law in any jurisdiction.
  • Post graduate degree in law in any jurisdiction.

Training

  • Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
  • Qualified in a common law jurisdiction (England and Wales preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum of one year legal work experience preferred.
  • 3 years legal work experience.
