Maintenance Technician/Sales Specialist

Maintenance and Sales of industrial machinery (vertical / horizontal honing machines), tooling and abrasives products. Key focus area is sales growth and new business development in the geographical area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Safety Initiatives: follows and promote safe behavior and continues improvement
  • Manage both geographical industrial accounts and specific key accounts within TX, LA, and OK
  • Grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients, achieving set sales budget
  • Develop new accounts by researching and identifying potential leads, soliciting new business, building connections, providing technical information and advice, preparing quotes, and closing deals
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future
  • Expand market awareness of products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively
  • Conduct abrasive testing utilizing value added documentation to drive new sales revenue
  • Provide management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure customer project requirements are met on time
  • Making technical presentations, webinars, product demonstrations and customer training
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent customer information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any customer information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Manages and reports on customer consignment programs
  • Prepare responses to RFQ (request for quote) and RFI (request for information) Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as required
  • Maintain and execute expense reports



Requirements:

  • Proven analytical, negotiating, problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary
  • Skilled with time and territory management
  • Proven experience with value added selling and cost down activity
  • CRM experience (preferably Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Ability to conduct professional presentations both internally/externally
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communications skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, & ability to work unsupervised
  • Quality oriented with a sense of urgency to get result within a timely manner
  • Ability to travel (50% - 75%)
  • Valid drivers' license & valid Passport



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience is required
  • 3 - 5 years' minimum experience in a technical sales position in a manufacturing (preferably in machining/abrasive or related field)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Prolonged periods of time standing and walking on feet

Overview

A varied and exciting role working on proof of concepts, prototypes and early product development. Working with industrial state of the art robots.

Responsibilities include:

  • Systems to remotely plan/configure/build robot missions executed by a variety of robots
  • Systems to collect data from a variety of mobile robots
  • Dashboards and HMIs for controlling/monitoring robots
  • Interfaces to and AI, ML and computer vision functions
  • Functions for the management of robot assets
  • Integration of robots to Operational Technology (OT) systems
  • Integration of on premise and cloud-based functions
  • Software required so our customers adopt Yokogawa's robotic solutions
  • Prototypes for robot payload execution

The ideal candidate:

  • 3-5 years' experience in software development
  • Strong experience with Python and/or C experience is required.
  • Strong experience with Python and/or C experience is required.
  • Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • Machine/Deep Learning and AI
  • Video Streaming Technologies (a plus)

Initially working from home and laterly onsite in The Woodlands.

The Role

This is an exciting and varied software engineering role working on a pilot program. You will be working on systems which will enable massive improvements in the life cycle of automation systems within the energy sector.

Working in a small team of talented developers and engineers using an agile methodology.

Responsibilities include:

Developing software applications using C , C#, Linux, Python

Developing firmware applications using Linux OS

Developing web applications

Working closely with colleagues (architects, software engineers and project leads) to program, test and document

Connecting and integrating new software products with integrated solutions.

Performing all levels of testing

Experience required:

Past experience of software, firmware and web development.

Knowledge of UCF, UWP, SQL Database and web services. Git, TFS, Azure DevOps.

C and Python absolute must haves.

At least 3 years of relevant experience.

A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline.

Desirable experience:

OPC UA

HTML5, JavaScript, Xamarin

MS Azure and/or AWS

IoT
