Our client is looking for a Systems Administrator in Calgary.

*Must have exerpeice with SCADA/PCN/ICS/DCS*

This is a 1 year contract role starting January 2020.

Overview of the role:


The Automation Analyst plans, organizes, and performs maintenance of the PCN network and monitors activities to ensure available and reliable equipment to meet the demands of the operation. She/he will provide direction and mentoring for the less experienced Systems Technician and may provide direction to contract personnel/crews.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides and updates documentation of network and operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs security assessments and provide recommendations for existing configurations.
  • Ensures a secure and robust environment for the administration system.
  • Schedules and coordinates systems maintenance activities
  • Performs maintenance on servers and desktops.
  • Performs patch/security updates to physical and virtual servers.
  • Ensures proper security protocols and guidelines are followed.
  • Protects the network from vulnerabilities.
  • Monitors and performs replication, backups and recovery.
  • Monitors, improves and maintains the disaster-recovery environments.
  • Uses project management tools and techniques to implement new initiatives.
  • Reports project status.
  • Works with end users or lower-level staff to achieve common goals.
  • Provides system analysis/troubleshooting by reviewing logs and working with application teams on production issues.
  • Leads projects for infrastructure and systems upgrades/implementations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required and Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Intermediate level, typically 3-5 years of experience.
  • Experience in an industrial environment involving SCADA, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Process Control Networks (PCN), Distributed Control System (DCS)
  • Moving towards full competency.
  • Requires a broader, general understanding of discipline.
  • Identifies problems and develops potential solutions.
  • Makes decisions within well defined parameters.
  • Understand Process Control Network (PCN)
  • Windows Servers & Workstations
  • Good grasp of the networking side

OEMS Governance Lead

Contract starting Jan 6th - June 1st, 2020

Schedule: Mon - Fri; 8am - 4pm

Job Overview:

  • Mature and improve the OEMS across E&P (Exploration & Production), through identifying and driving OEMS priorities based on risk and value, implementing OEMS as an integrated management system and ensuring an effective governing documents hierarchy and process is implemented

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the timely identification, assessment and treatment of our key risks (links to E2/17)
  • Effectively communicating the health of our controls to all stakeholders (links to E1/2/13)
  • Creating execution clarity through the implementation of effective business processes and procedures (links to E6/11)
  • Supporting the mapping of training and competency for each role within each business process (links to E7)
  • Driving performance improvements by measuring and verifying in the right places (links to E16/18)
  • Developing strong relationships internally and externally, sharing successes and leveraging best practices (Across all Elements) utilizing our OD Behaviors

Our client is looking for a Learning Advisor in Calgary.

You will be reporting to the Team Lead, Competency Based Learning, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of our learning programs across the organization. You will advise, support and lead projects in a specialized area on learning solutions.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Establish and manage strategies to delivery specialized learning services
  • Provide creative learning solutions and make program design recommendations for business units across the organization
  • Lead, design, develop and evaluate learning programs with considerable complexity and scope while collaborating with diverse groups
  • Support the translation and communication of business strategies into tactical learning objectives and effectively communicate the objectives to all client groups
  • Ensure timely and accurate information and communication to clients, and team members on an as needed basis
  • Lead execution and implementation of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and evaluation (ADDIE) model
  • Support the business to develop the infrastructure to sustain the required learning process
  • Work with clients and instructional design to recommend and develop learning solutions that will close identified learning gaps (including interactions with suppliers as required)
  • Liaise with Learning Coordinator to map solutions/strategy in Learning Management System (LMS)


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 5-8 years of experience in learning and/or adult education
  • 3-5 years of Project management experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Confirmed capability in delivering on projects varying in size from single business area to corporate wide
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite with a strong working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Preference for:

  • Post-secondary degree in an education related field; will consider additional years of working experience in lieu
  • Project Management Certification

Mining Solutions - Business Analyst

Our client is looking for a Business Analyst in Calgary.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours a week

Contract position until July 2020 however this maybe extended through remainder of 2020.

Job Overview

  • Support the development and execution of Mining Solutions projects within the Worker Safety and Enablement program. Would report for the Project Manager, Digital Mine Programs and support various site focused technology projects within the Digital Mine portfolio (Transformation Management Office)
  • Key AccountabilitiesDevelopment and management of general project management materials - project roadmaps, integrated program level schedules, work plans, sprint plans, presentations, etc.
  • Oversight of (where applicable) and participation in daily activities with project teams and stakeholders, including but not limited to innovation team members and associated vendors/consultants, EHS, advanced analytics, communications, D&ET development and execution resources, etc.
  • Support individual project's basic technical requirements - including working with internal SME's and priority stakeholders
  • Compile industry and global vendor data related to potential implementation products in working "data base" with relevant evaluation criteria to inform leader decision making as work progresses.
  • Support the development of all required gate documentation and deliverables, including business cases, gate support packages, decision support packages, etc.
  • Monitor and track key turnover milestones and related activities, in particular, the transition of projects from development to execution and through deployment
  • Support the management of key interferences (where applicable) and critical path activities with other related work (both internal and external to Mining Solutions). Examples include the connected worker program, and DOA/Mine M&R Enhancement
  • Support activities internal to Mining Solutions related to overall portfolio management. Examples include supporting candidate identification and preparation activities for vendor days, developing projects updates, articulating project risks, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree - preference for engineering or business/commerce
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience and Education
    • 2-5 (or more) years experience in a planning, development or projects space
    • Oil and Gas experience considered a major asset
    • Management Consulting experience considered a major asset
    • Experience working on technology implementations considered an asset
    • Experience leading projects considered a major asset

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to critically think through problems and make recommendations
  • Strong communication skills (presentation material, written and oral skills)
  • Comfort working in an often ambiguous environment without total clarity

Turnaround Contract Operator

Position Summary

Contract starting January 20th 2020 - July 19th 2020 in Fort Mackay, AB

This role is eligible for night rate, night overtime rate and OT rate.
Shift schedule: 7 on and 7 off - 12 hour days

Our client is currently seeking a Turnaround Contract Operator for the preparation and execution of the Planned April 2020 Turnaround. The successful candidate will assist the Operations Leads with Shutdown and Startup of the Field Facilities and Central Processing Facility in the 2020 Turnaround. This assignment will end in June of 2020.

Responsibilities are not limited to those listed below:

* Shutdown and prepare equipment for maintenance in the 2020 Turnaround
* Prepare for Startup and help bring the FF pads and infrastructure online after TA activities are complete.
* Have full understanding of Sunrise COHE process
* Have full understanding of Sunrise Permitting process
* Have full understanding of Sunrise Safe work practices
* Have full understanding of Sunrise Units they are working in as to safely Shutdown and Start-up Equipment

Must Have Qualifications:


* 4th class Power Engineer
* Time-management and organization skills
* Proficient understanding of PID's
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in an operating facility
* Experience with Equipment isolation and permitting
* Must have good interpersonal skills
* Must be competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and
* Strong organizational skills with the ability work In a team environment

Nice To Have Skills:


* 3rd class Power Engineer
* 2 years in SAGD/Oil and Gas Operations
* Experience in Operations / Turnaround
