Solutions Architect & Data Governance Director
Develop data procedures and policies, and work closely with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect and analyze data assets while ensuring that the company meets industry best practices.
Responsible for the day to day coordination and execution of projects and support for the master data program. Other duties will include leading interdisciplinary teams, improving and streamlining data systems within the company, and driving innovation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in data management, leadership and information technology systems and tools. A strong background in IT, business and mathematics is advantageous.
Relationships: Directly reporting to the Chief Digital Officer
Job Duties & Essential Functions:
*Thorough understanding of the business and data strategy. Perform hands-on solution design, solution architecture, architecture roadmaps, prototyping, proof-of-concept builds, and development tasks as required in support of current and new projects.
*Roll out that data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
*Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection to executive members and staff
. *Incumbent will ensure that clearly defined business stewardship policies and procedures including data quality standards and data compliance standards for data/ analytic investments are in place.
*Solid understanding and hands on experience working with large data sources, particularly digital data assets, focusing on efficient data extraction from large databases, data manipulation, and setting up optimized summary data layers.
Education & Experience:
*Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis or a related field. Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience.
*Typically has 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations, with 3 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, cross functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
*Minimum 5 years of experience in Data governance/stewardship, data management, Metadata management, and Data quality solutions.
*Experience with on-premise, private and/or hybrid cloud solutions on GCP and/or AWS. Deep understanding of cloud platforms, e.g., GCP.
*Experience delivering business intelligence or large-scale data warehouses/lakes using tech such as Hadoop, Kafka, IBM Cognos, Microsoft, MicroStrategy, Oracle, Snowflake, Tableau, Teradata and/or similar tech
*Strong knowledge of RDMS such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server and no-SQL DBs such as DynamoDB or MongoDB
*Experience with various authentication implementations such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect
*Container management technologies such as Docker
*Familiar with web UI frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Vue. *Familiar with mobile frameworks such as Xamarin, React Native, and Flutter.
*Fluent in contemporary Digital technologies and platforms, including CX, mobile app dev, APIs, SaaS, MicroServices, OSS, AI and Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Edge, IaaS, PaaS, CaaS and FaaS. Must understand how these industry related business patterns and their underpinning technologies can be used to meet the business needs
*Strong leadership and communication skills.
*Proven team leadership and management experience, with ability to recruit, engage and develop staff with advanced degrees and diverse backgrounds and in different geographic locations, ability to allocate resources based on priority and skill level, strengths, and area of expertise; ability to train and mentor junior colleagues. *Analytically minded.
