Our client is looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Specialist in Lloydminister, SK.

This is a 1 year contract position.

This is an office position and requires occasional site visits to Operational facilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of the SAP Hierarchy
  • Audit the SAP hierarchy and resolve discrepancies
  • Participate in asset criticality and critical spares identification
  • Lead and assist in the development, creation, and optimization of SAP Plant Maintenance in alignment with maintenance and planning standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Build time based and condition-based Preserve Task Lists
  • Build / contribute to Operator Performed Maintenance Task Lists
  • Lead and assist in the definition of Assembly creation
  • Lead and assist in the development / creation of Material Masters and Equipment BOMs
  • Roll out SAP Maintenance Plans, Items and Task Lists to the facility Maintenance and operations Teams
  • Lead the evaluation of critical spares
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as required to complete scope
  • Identify failures modes and associated critical spares; define maintenance strategy
  • Create Material Masters and Equipment BOMs with critical identification
  • Lead review and acceptance of critical spares lists and maintenance strategy with facility Maintenance and Operations Teams
  • Identify warehouse preservation requirements of critical sparing
  • Ensure processes are carried out effectively and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead or support the development of new or modification of existing procedures and work instructions
  • Support team initiatives as needed


Qualifications Required:

  • One of the following:
  • Journeyman Instrumentation with inter-provincial red seal (or eligibility for designation), OR
  • Instrumentation Technologist, OR
  • Journeyman Electrician / Instrumentation (dual ticket) with inter-provincial red seal (or eligibility for designation)
  • Minimum of 3-6 years instrumentation maintenance experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, pulp and paper or power generation industries
  • Experience with instrumentation work order execution, task list scoping, equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience / working knowledge of a Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), e.g. SAP PM, Maximo
  • A good understanding and working knowledge of:
  • Pressure equipment, rotating, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls equipment,
  • Various engineered drawings and documents, e.g. P&IDs, single lines drawings, datasheets, equipment manuals
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office suite

Position Summary:


Position to maintain Construction & Engineering Cost Reporting, Stewardship/Control of Control Budget, Forecasting, Trends Mgmt., Allowance Mgmt., PO Management, CTR Mgmt., Contingency Mgmt., etc. while coordinating Change Mgmt. for the Project using the WWRP systems, processes, and procedures accordingly.

This role will also maintain the structure, monitor/review earned value and contractor invoices, assess/forecast engineering hours plan and performance, develop Budgets and drive variance reporting, support estimates of budget impacts, monitor construction and engineering contracts based on agreed contractual provisions to assess Forecast at Completion, present overviews of Control Budget status to various stakeholders and deliver all monthly reporting requirements for the Project Controls Lead and Functional Cost Control Lead.

Experience and Education

  • 10 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, project management or engineering is required; some technology focus in previous experience is preferred

Job Overview

  • Reporting to the Specialist, Technology Implementation - Mining, the Technology Implementation Engineer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of digital technology in the Mine, as well as addressing the current gaps in technology deployment.
  • This temporary contract role will handle a flux in workload to complete implementation of the mine wireless network and systems.
  • This role will maintain roadmaps, schedules and stewardship on our overall digital plan and capital portfolio.
  • It will be responsible to support the ADEM process associated with digital technology development, including creating problem definition documents, and being a member of integrated teams.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible to support the process associated with digital technology development, including creating problem definition documents, preparing decision notices, and being a member of integrated teams and supporting gate 1, 2 and 3 deliverables.
  • Act as a translator between the mine business unit (understands the current mine digital infrastructure, mine plan, and how we do business) and the team implementing new technologies on our behalf (Business Unit Projects, Digital and Enterprise Technical)
  • Develop, prepare and maintain roadmaps and schedules on our overall digital technology plan and portfolio as well as for specific project work.
  • Prepare presentation material to support updates on the digital technology portfolio to the Mine Leadership team (including portfolio stewardship)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key business and technology stakeholders (internal and external)

Our client is looking for a Construction Technology Coordinator in Calgary, AB.

This is a 1 year contract.

Travel is required, full time site based.

FIFO: Schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off (Camp provided, travelling costs covered)

Must Have:

  • 3 - 7 years experience in the Construction industry
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in Engineering or Technology systems
  • 3 years in Stakeholder management - built relationships and drive alignment between various stakeholders
  • Experience in productivity technology applications in construction
  • Technology background - experience with troubleshooting
  • Manage system administration, operation, configurations, and user profiles
  • Proficient in Power BI and Microsoft softwares (Excel, Word, Office)
  • Previous experience with safety or productivity technology applications in construction
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support implementation planning prior to site execution
  • Support establishment of physical office space - infrastructure, supplies, processes
  • Support establishment of device management stations (charging and calibration)
  • Overall management of equipment and materials
  • Support daily technology device pairing/un-pairing for craft
  • Manage system administration, operation, configurations, and user profiles
  • Provide device and SPT program training to employees and contactors
  • Required to become the technology system super-user to support SPT system issues and user questions
  • Monitor and manage maintenance of location beacons
  • Provide analytics knowledge transfer of SPT to the site project teams
  • Support production of analytics reports and lead review sessions
  • Support overall project performance analysis though the use of actual workforce data.
  • Provide project learnings and support continuous improvement within the Program organization
  • Support development of KPIs to support projects benefit assessments
  • Provide input to the SPT Program to enable the development of processes, metrics and analytics to support the overall safety and productivity improvement initiatives.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Leadership skills
  • Self-starter and ability to self-execute scope to meet timelines is essential
  • Knowledge of oil and gas plants, equipment and facilities and site construction practices considered an asset
  • Experience in Workface Planning is considered an asset
  • Strong business acumen with ability to build relationships and drive alignment between various stakeholders
