Job Description

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Support the Field Manager Block H in all operational, technical, and commercial aspects of safely and efficiently running the Block H PFLNG2 Upstream Preplant Processing (PPP) and Subsea systems.
  • Coordinate activities of Production and Maintenance Operations specifically for Block H (Subsea and Pre-plant Processing facilities) and similar scope for Block K.
  • Support the Head Of Sabah Production Operations , Head Of Sabah Operations Support and Field Manager Block K in all operational, technical, and commercial aspects of safely and efficiently running the Block K Kikeh FPSO and Dry Tree Unit (DTU) and related Block K Subsea systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure all Production Operations Procedures, both routine and non-routine, are clearly documented and understood by field personnel.
  • Propose methods by which production rates can be optimized, then coordinate the actions required to achieve this, involving all available resources and expertise.
  • Ensure data is available for various reporting for critical equipment for both Block K & H requirements - covering both reliability and availability.
  • Bring additional focus to efforts aimed at reducing production loss due unplanned deferments and others. Integrate efforts currently undertaken by Production Operations, Operations Engineering, Reservoir Engineering and Drilling & Completions groups to achieve the best overall outcome.
  • Provide Operations input to Development teams on future field development projects, primarily for Block H but also when requested on Block K. Ensure that operational concerns are accounted for in the planning and execution of the development work, and that new developments gain the maximum benefit from past experience of operating the field.
  • Specify and review project work carried out by PFLNG2 Block H or when requested, FPSO Block K operator. Ensure optimum speed, efficiency and value-for-money are obtained from these projects.
  • Work closely with PFLNG2 Block H or FPSO Block K operator to optimize safety, quality and efficiency of PFLNG2 and FPSO operations.
  • Specify requirements, then review and approve technical documents, such as work procedures and operations reports.
  • Provide support for offshore supervisors and crews by liaising with Engineering, Logistics, HR, SSHE and other support organizations, as required.
  • Provide Operations input during preparation of the annual budget. Track expenditures and provide updates required throughout the year.
  • Provide Operations input to Hazops and Risk Assessments as required.
  • Work with Procurement Department to ensure all necessary contracts are in place, have the required ACV and are maintained as required.
  • Operate assigned contracts. Communicate as required with contractors and vendors to ensure optimum performance and value are achieved.
  • Take over supervisory or management functions as required, during periods of absence.
  • In order to maintain visibility on PFLNG2 Upstream, liaise with the Petronas Centralised Maintenance Team responsible for PFLNG2 Upstream maintenance in a consultative capacity in line with RACI outlined in the Operations and Maintenance Agreement, including both preventive & corrective maintenance.
  • Provide updates and reporting to Petronas MPM on operations and maintenance matters in Block H or when requested, Block K. Present in IOM on production operations related issues.
  • Review Flow Assurance work from time to time with the team, then raise MOC, work instruction to make necessary adjustment to the operating window. Ensure training , assessment and competency of operations personnel as per flow assurance requirements.
  • Perform a consultant role on the corrective maintenance tasks on the PPP Facilities as per the RACI Matrix.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally with the majority of that time spent working in liquified natural gas (LNG) and/or Gas operations for an offshore/onshore PAC operator.
  • Experience in managing day-to-day operation & maintenance of oil & gas offshore field.
  • Experience in production optimization work.
  • Experience in deep-water field operations is preferable, however shallow-water field operation is acceptable. Able to make decisions and plans for optimizing production in this environment.
  • Experience in deep-water development projects is preferable, however shallow-water development projects is acceptable. Able to provide operational input required to ensure the most successful result is achieved.
  • Broad upstream oil and gas operator experience, including interaction with other groups required to achieve results in complex, multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory officers, Petronas and JV partners with respect to Operations related matters.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, with strong command of English.
  • Must be energetic, well organized, and effective personality. The job will require dedication, commitment, creativity, and perseverance.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability. Able to make recommendations and decisions, justify and back-up actions and set directions with minimal supervision. Capable of backing-up field managers and supervisors during periods of absence.
  • Medically fit as per offshore medical requirement and willing to travel to offshore facilities if required.
