Chemical Specialist

Job Description

Our Client, a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production company, is looking for a Chemical Specialist in Barnhart, TX.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Models and communicates the company's core values and safety expectations to all field vendors.
• Ensures compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
• Hosts monthly chemical reviews with vendors and the Technical Team.
• Works closely with the Technical Team to review and act upon monthly data reports.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates maintenance of chemical pump equipment.
• Ensures proper and timely hookup for all new chemical applications.
• Coordinates and maintains chemical inventory levels and application rates to prevent untreated wells.
• Works directly with chemical vendors to rectify missed treatments.
• Monitors chemical levels and pumps via SCADA.
• Coordinates collection of fluid samples for routine and non-routine monitoring.
• Reviews monitoring data to develop optimization strategies.
• Interprets data and develops technical recommendations to ensure optimal operations.
• Reviews and approves all chemical invoices.
• Manages chemical budgets.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science field preferred; relevant field experience considered.
• Minimum of 5 years in production or completions chemical application, with oil production experience a plus.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of oilfield flow processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of specialty chemical products, applications, and their impact.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data manipulation and interpretation.
• Strong analytical, numeric, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in independent and collaborative work environments.
