Instrumentation & Controls Systems Engineering Expert
Project Support - MC, Commissioning & Testing

This role provides critical I&C systems expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from Management Completion (MC) to commissioning and testing phases. You'll be the technical authority, guiding the team to ensure successful installation, functionality, and adherence to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the I&C team during construction and commissioning, providing expert solutions and technical direction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex I&C system challenges throughout the project.
• Conduct thorough field inspections, verifying the quality and integrity of installed equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for seamless I&C system implementation.
• Review and approve technical documentation (drawings, schematics, specifications).
• Partner with procurement to ensure timely delivery of essential I&C materials and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to field inquiries and approve red-line drawings for as-built documentation.
• Maintain clear communication by delivering weekly updates to the team and line manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Controls or Electrical Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation (required)
• 25 years of Oil & Gas industry experience (required)
• Strong safety focus with a proactive Environmental Health & Safety approach
• Demonstrated understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and commissioning processes
• In-depth knowledge of I&C systems, including transformers, motors, VFDs, and protection systems
• Proficiency in electrical engineering software (ETAP) for motor starting, load flows, and arc flash analysis
• Experience with protection and control systems
• Mastery of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project)
• Working knowledge of Smart Completions software (Hexagon, a plus)
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs, and technical specifications
• Experience with CMS databases, preferably Hexagon
• 15 years of experience collaborating with construction contractors during facility building and commissioning
