Job Description Summary:Are you a commodity tax professional looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, fast paced environment? If so, this job is for you! The commodity tax advisor will be regularly exposed to a wide range of commodity taxes in both a compliance and advisory support capacity.
Minimum Requirements:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Two years of Canadian commodity tax compliance experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with SAP, including S4 HANA, is desirable.
- Experience with Power Platform (i.e. Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query) is desirable.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a deadline driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and filing of commodity tax returns including those for fuel tax, excise tax, sales tax and GST/HST, among others.
- Provision of commodity tax advice to internal stakeholders.
- Supports commodity tax team members to administer commodity tax compliance activities and to respond to regulatory audit inquiries including data extraction.
Location and other Key Details:
- This is an office-based role in Calgary, AB
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
