Our History

Petroplan was founded in 1976 by John Reeder and Graham Pyle, and has grown organically over the last forty-five years through a simple commitment to quality, safety and getting the job done.

The company they built has evolved alongside the ever-changing energy industry, never compromising on the values and beliefs that drove their initial success.

From humble beginnings in the North Sea Oil & Gas industry, Petroplan has grown into an international force in recruiting and workforce management.  Hundreds of projects and thousands of experienced professionals have benefited from the hard work and knowledge that our people bring to their work every day.

Policies

Petroplan is commited to the highest levels of compliance in all the territories in which we operate. Contractor compliance is a critical element of our contractor management services. Our highly experienced regional onboarding teams check each contractor’s business set up to verify it complies with local legislative requirements. We also ensure that they have all the right insurances in place. This means our contractors arrive for their assignment fully compliant and ready to hit the ground running, and we keep them compliant throughout the assignment. Our onboarding team tracks the expiry of contractor insurances and training, requesting new certificates when they are nearing expiry.

 

Quality Compliance

Petroplan’s ISO accredited quality management system is based on Energy industry accepted “plan – do – review – improve” methodology. Additionally, our membership of APSCo commits the company to a global code of good practice.

HSEQ Compliance

Petroplan has an HSEQ Manager who previously worked in the field for oil and gas clients in a range of challenging locations, including Algeria. Our HSE processes therefore comply with OHSAS standards and are tailored to comply with local legislation and regional conditions in each territory.

In Country Compliance

One of our core strengths is fast and accurate payrolling in a range of locations around the world. Our teams on the ground are familiar with local legislation and speak the local language, often liaising with the local authority on behalf of our contractors where payrolling issues need to be promptly resolved.

Code of Conduct

We ensure contractor compliance with our clients’ ethical standards by supplying the contractor with the client’s Code of Conduct. We also supply them with Petroplan’s Guide to Business Conduct to assist them in making informed and ethical decisions. This includes guidance around Anti Bribery and Corruption, Human Rights and Labour Policy and Workplace Diversity.

Internal Controls

Petroplan also has in-house Legal Counsel so that we can ensure all contractor documentation meets legal requirements. For our own compliance we have formal data protection procedures in place and regularly conduct both external and internal quality audits of our company processes.
