Job Description

The client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commissioning Manager for its North America Energy Storage projects. The ideal candidate will have overall responsibility for the commissioning process from construction completion to commercial operation that includes quality oversight of construction; ensuring Construction completion prior to accepting system turnover from Construction; ensuring that all systems are safely and properly checked, tested, and tuned to ensure the facility is ready for safe and reliable operation; punch list management; and ensuring that proper turnover documentation is provided to Operations.

Responsibilities:

· Overall startup/commissioning responsibilities with accountability for safety, quality, costs, schedule and overall project contract compliance during the commissioning phase of the project

· Single point of interface with the Project Manager

· Assist with development of all commissioning processes and procedures

· Development of commissioning turnover packages, procedures, and schedule

· Oversight of energy storage equipment installation and quality

· Ensure adequacy and accuracy of construction turnover package

· Manage, identify, and coordinate all OEM commissioning activities and resources

· Monitor and enforce compliance with safety procedures, standards of quality, and best practices

· Coordinate with energy dispatching to schedule and complete performance testing

· Risk management including identifying and project risks to safety, quality, schedule or costs, develop the appropriate mitigation plans, and risk tracking

· Drive continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and opportunities to increase efficiency

· Manage project change management during the commissioning phase of the project

· Ensure request for information (RFI), non-conformances (NCR), vendor change notices (VCN), and project change notices (PCN) during the commissioning phase of the project are dispositioned in a timely manner

· Contract closeout that includes development of final project documentation and proper facility turnover to Operations

Position Requirements:

· BS Engineering from an accredited University

· Minimum of 5-years energy storage commissioning experience with at least 3-years at the supervisory level

· Fluent in English

· Strong communication skills and professionalism

· Strong attention to detail, follow through, and bias for action

· Team player that works and collaborates effectively in a team environment

· Strong focus and commitment to safety, quality, and risk management

· Energy storage experience with knowledge of electrical power systems, networking systems, communication systems, and SCADA systems

· Ability to travel extensively to project sites, customer offices, corporate headquarters, or vendor/contractor office locations as necessary

· Proficient with all MS Office products
